The owner of a vegan restaurant has said it is adding meat to its menu due to the cost-of-living-crisis.
Adonis Norouznia, owner of Nomas Gastrobar in Macclesfield said: "It is very difficult to stay in business selling only vegan."
In a message to customers he said: "This has been a moment of deep reflection and decision-making for us."
The restaurant opened three years ago, just after the pandemic eased, but has faced challenging trading conditions.
"When some people find out we are vegan they walk out," said Mr Norouznia.
The message to patrons said it hoped regular customers would "understand the heartfelt reasons behind our upcoming changes to our beloved vegan cafe and restaurant".
It added: "The challenges we've faced in recent times have been heartfelt and profound. The limitations of our vegan menu, at times, meant we welcomed only a small number of customers, making it increasingly difficult for our business to thrive financially.
"This has led us to a profound decision, one we've made with much contemplation and consideration.
"In response to these challenges, we have made the difficult yet necessary decision to introduce a thoughtfully curated selection of high-quality, responsibly sourced meat and dairy options to our menu."

'Unwavering commitment'

Mr Nouznia said the restaurant would still have an "unwavering" commitment to its vegan customers.
The decision to include meat has become a hot topic on the restaurant's social media page.
However Mr Nouznia said: "Vegan only is not going to pay my staff or support my family."
He said the hospitality industry has been struggling with the effects of the Covid pandemic, Brexit and the cost-of-living-crisis.
"In a town like Macclesfield Brexit really makes it difficult to recruit staff," he added.
Last month TV chef Simon Rimmer closed his Manchester vegetarian restaurant Greens after 33 years, citing a rise in rent and running costs for making the restaurant "unviable".

"This has led us to a profound decision, one we've made with much contemplation and consideration.
Jeez, society is really down bad when returning to common sense is considered "profound".

This is from their Instagram, it looks good, but it also looks like something I can make at home. Oh well, they'll probably be closed in three months.

...what was he expecting? It's fucking Macclesfield.
You'd make more money moving to Tel Aviv and opening a pork pie shop.

Edit:
This is from their Instagram
Is that fucking fake bacon?
No wonder he's up shit creek, even actual vegans hate that plastic shit.

Could a Bri*ish Kiwi explain what Brexit has to do with hiring employees, especially in a "town like Macclesfield". I'm going to assume that they have some gay "must be a vegan" requirement to work there leading to a lower hiring pool out the gate.

The mass vegan agenda was pure top down bullshit pushed on the public by people that think they're your betters. I remember going through the supermarket during 2019 wuhan flu panic, the majority of the shelves were stripped bare, but the vegan meat substitutes remained mainly untouched.

I guess the owner should have watched Joe Dirt.

  • Joe Dirt: So you're gonna tell me that you don't have no black cats, no Roman Candles, or screaming mimis?
  • Kicking Wing: No.
  • Joe Dirt: Oh come on, man. You got no lady fingers, fuzz buttles, snicker bombs, church burners, finger blasters, gut busters, zippity do das, or crap flappers?
  • Kicking Wing: No, I don't.
  • Joe Dirt: You're gonna stand there, ownin' a fireworks stand, and tell me you don't have no whistlin' bungholes, no spleen splitters, whisker biscuits, honkey lighters, hoosker doos, hoosker don'ts, cherry bombs, nipsy daisers, with or without the scooter stick, or one single whistlin' kitty chaser?
  • Kicking Wing: No... because snakes and sparklers are the only ones I like.
  • Joe Dirt: Well that might be your problem, it's not what you like, it's the consumer.

It was crazy. No chicken but hey, look at all the fake meat. I ended up eating a lot of rice and vegetables with whatever canned tuna I could find. Fake meat was just too expensive plus I didn't want it.

The big issue I have with vegan is the fake meat. It's just so boring when there are actual vegan dishes that don't include pretend burgers.

In my very limited experience with Vegan restaurants, half the menu ends up as really gross meat larping anyway. At this point its just a red flag for me to nope out, and I don't even eat out that often. The other half of the menu, the textures and flavor combinations tend to be weird - Always seemed to me like the dishes were designed to sound cool and look good on instagram, but tend to just be odd and mildly uncomfortable to eat.

Maybe a couple of them aren't like that, but the reputation from the weird ones is enough to turn me off the rest. I have no interest in gambling my stomach and $30-$50 on whether a vegan is a retard or not, thats a fools bet.

I don't believe it's that expensive to run a vegan restaurant. I just think this retard doesn't have good business sense.

I've been to one vegan restaurant in my life and it was pretty good. All the dishes were vegetables rather than fake meat crap so that probably helped.
Of course, I would never eat there more than once because I'm an omnivore and I desire flesh.

Souley vegan was good, but they got chased out of Oakland by niggers. Hopefully reopening somewhere else soon, because they understood the importance of "eat your own bodyweight in crumbed, deep-fried mushrooms" as a vital part of the food pyramid.
@KiwiFuzz2 back me up here.
