If this is all true, I wonder if the whole project became an inside joke or something at WB. They (execs, writers, developers) just became insanely hateful of super heros and how much the project(s) cost them, and decided to send them off in the worst way possible, with the lamest characters doing it. It would also explain the retard teir low/no effort gameplay and UI.Just a reminder….
This game has been in development since 2010. As of currently we know this much from rumors.
This game is climbing off the backs of multiple failed projects and sweeping leadership changes. It was announced nearly a decade and a half ago, and we are really surprised it is costing so much. It seems like a project Warner refuses to kill as they keep sinking too much coin into it, much like the Flash movie of last year.
- The game was developed by WB Montreal after Arkham Origins, but plans fell through and the prototype was scrapped. WB Montreal would also have a Damian Wayne/Batman Beyond project that was in development before getting scrapped and pivoting to Gotham Knights.
- Rocksteady, allegedly, worked on a Superman game that at least got decently far into the concept stage, likely even demo, before being scrapped.
- Production was an obvious hell as many heads of the company left throughout, likely causing a loss of leadership and delays.
- WB got bought out by Discovery, which meant a change of leadship throughout the company, which would obviously shake things up. Add in James Gunn and his huge change of leadership to DC as a whole.
