Not Just Bikes / r/fuckcars / Urbanists / New Urbanism / Car-Free / Anti-Car - People and grifters who hate personal transport, freedom, cars, roads, suburbs, and are obsessed with city planning and urban design

We have many people that own either trucks for international transport (SCANIA, MAN)or vans (Volkswagen, IVECO, ISUZU). But indeed less pick-ups. The thing is most people are able to transport more stuff in vans than in trucks and also we rarely tow things.
Maybe that's why.
Americans usually move more, and have recreational vehicles, hense trailers. A van can definitely carry a lot, but if I'm looking to tow a boat to the lake with a good safety margin, I want a truck.

In general, many Europeans arrogance towards the States piss me off. It's in many aspects some quite undeserved sense of superiority that some people have. Probably fueled by our media and culture making fun of le evil guns, school shootings, le dumb american who doesn't know his head from his ass and that kind of stuff. These are the same people that see the world and everything else as a dichotomy of "good" and "bad". There's no nuance for these fucktards.

Those towing posts are a prime example. "I can tow with my Nissan Micra, this means anyone can tow anything with a Nissan Micra, this means you don't need le evil Trugg!" Or "If don't have a need for a car, no one has a need for a car".
Yesterday I got quite MATI, Instagram recommended me a reel of a british motorcyclist almost getting moto-jacked by two fuckfaces in a Fiat 500. He kinda got away and scared them off, however the whole comment section is full of Br*ts going "SEE, SEE! THIS IS WHY YOU DON'T NEED GUNS! STUPID AMERICANS!"

Now, I do have to say, I much prefer some things in Europe, and I'm glad I'm not quite ruled by a Government that just goes "Oh, we locked the country down because of a flu, sorry, we can't pay you guys some compensation so your brick and mortar stores don't go under! Our budget doesn't allow it :,) Oh, what's that Ukraine? You need money? Here you go, we magically found a couple of billions spare in our books!" But pretending that one continent is infinitely better than the other is just shortsighted and childish.

I'd give my left nut though if we could carry all these nice guns I can buy in my small Mountainjew Country. Gotta give you that one, Amerisharts.

To be completely fair, there ARE some nice things about Europe me as a American can admit. The climate, generally good soil, historical landmarks, food... but it means I'm giving up my guns, highway system, and generally bigger American cars.

And if I have to choose between trains or cars... I'm choosing cars, because I'm not stuck going where the train wants to. I'm sure the cheese is great over there, trust me, I want to try it, just to get Josh to shut up, but I feel I'd be giving a lot up to live as a Euro.

Not to mention, as you said, the arrogant attitude. Why? Fuckcars is full of it. Can't we agree BOTH have pros and cons??? Apparently not, because Europe is better, every fucking time.

And this is where Swiss Superiority comes in, you get the cheese, the guns, the on time trains, nice cars, nice highways.. I kid.

There's some nice things to say about the USA as well. I wish we had that much space that you can just use like that. Something like BLM Land would be based. I just wanna go shoot outside, brother.
And cheaper meat would be based too. Or cheaper gas, for that matter. My 6.2L sure is thirsty as fuck, especially with these prices. 8.3 USD per Gallon for the high octane stuff over here.

But you know what? First and foremost it would be nice not to live on the same continent as the G*rmans or dare I say, Fr*nch. Or as certain Canadian Expats that shit up the Netherlands.

The space and (relatively) cheap gas is definitely a godsend. If I want to go shooting, I CAN go to a range. Or I can just go to some BLM land, set up some paper targets, and have fun. Most of the US isn't built up like Europe. Sure travel time is a bitch, but that means there's a lot to do in nature. Especially camping. Love camping man.

As for our neighbors... we have Mexicans lol. Muslims without Islam but with the same murder rate. Can't all be good.

I wonder if this is a troll post because all of the pictures show trucks being used to do useful and fun things.

Whether or not the OP is serious, the comments certainly are:

Despite literally just seeing pictures of truck owners using their trucks to do things one can only do with a truck, truck owners apparently never use their trucks to do truck things:

I agree, Swiss is pretty based. If it would be easy to own there an historical car, it would be great. Thinking of it as an candidate for emigration from my poor East-Europe.

In general, many Europeans arrogance towards the States piss me off.

Also agree. I wish I could have the same purchase power as US. Though the products would cost more.
There are many great things about US and more freedom. Except California/New York. They are becoming Germany/Netherlands.
I wish European leadership would become more rational and reduce bureaucracy, but it will probably happen very late.

Though I feel some US people/representatives are very pretentious, tend to be disrespecting about other culture by holding them to their standards, wokifying them.
The woke problem though stems from Frankfurt School. :/

On the opposite side. I like Japanese culture, but their government and regulations are kind of the same as in EU. I like though that they have low VAT.
I dislike so much that I have to pay higher VAT on top of having fewer money.

The worst is buying something online outside of EU and pay on top of it VAT.

Someone should tell r/fuckcars about King of the Hammers. Since they hate off-roading so much.

KoH is a multi-week Mad-Max extravaganza where 100k deplorables drive their toy haulers up to Johnson Valley, CA and proceed to rip up a dry lakebed and the surrounding rock formations with as many salvage title Toyotas as possible. It is ostensibly a series of desert races. But it is mostly about family men with irrepressible can-do attitudes seeing whether this thing can go up that thing, usually with illegal fireworks blasting overhead. It’s like someone heard the phrase “environmental impact” and took it as a personal dare. Depending on wind conditions, many of the attendees leave with something they call Hammerlung, which is probably just respiratory inflammation brought on by two weeks of sucking dust, exhaust fumes, and whatever is in the air when fireworks are going off continuously from dusk until dawn.

I would personally contribute to a fund to get NotJustBikes guy to attend KoH ‘25 just to see his reaction.

I am trying to add images to this post but it isn’t working so I will come back in a minute to add links.

After the day’s races end, the course is opened for non-competitors to drive on. One major obstacle of the course is called Chocolate Thunder. Here is one video from Chocolate Thunder this year.

God damnit I was just enjoying my VR-Bingbingwahoo Session when you posted this. The absolute balls on this nigger.
"uhm, you don't need a pickup truck cause i can exceed the legal tow rating of my car and pull just as much!!"

These assholes are the first to crucify anyone for going 3km/h over the speed limit because apparently that's "endangering" others? But exceeding your cars tow rating, which has an impact on its substructures and brakes? That's cool. Bet he'll find something else to blame when he inevitably roasts his brakes going down a small slope cause his Renault isn't meant to brake that much. I mean yes, of course, larger trailers have brakes too, but those are meant to be pulled with a vehicle made for such loads.

It appears that owning a historical car is a bit of a bureaucracy thing here. If you just register it as a regular car it's quite straight forward. The issues come up when you want to register it as a "Veteran Vehicle" aka. a Vehicle older than 30 years. Because then you must make sure everything is in historical, original condition, any modifications must be from the same time period, and you have to keep it really clean, tidy, and in shape. Also you'll be limited to 3000km a year or so, however, you'll be tax exempt.

If you wanna daily drive an old car you'll just pay regular taxes and have the regular car status, I suppose. That is easy.

Someone points out that OP's trailer can't carry a significantly sized boat and ends up having an argument with an antisocial vegan:
1707000376560.png
Again with this crap. It's come up in this thread a couple times now. The whole routine of "whiny vegan learns that your average fisher/hunter does more for conservation than them" sounds like a stupid strawman, yet it just keeps happening and happening.

I wonder if they've done any studies comparing their consoomer habits of having every little thing delivered to their door compared to getting it themselves. Along with any time they use something like Uber or a Cab which has been sitting idling instead of being turned off waiting to be used.

Nah. That would be like pointing out that in the US busses are less fuel efficient per passenger mile than passenger cars due to them not being loaded to capacity.

I am so tired of the "um sweaty you don't need x, y and z"-plebbit leftoid bugmen cucks. I am beyond the "Gradually I began to hate them"-phase. I am all in favor of the finale solution of the bugman question.

I can't wait until the "you don't NEED a living space with windows that bring in natural light" phase. It WILL come, just like how /r/fuckcars has moved past the Strong Towns/NJB echo chamber to abstract concepts like "externalities", which (((coincidentally))) favor a pro-bughive approach.

There is no compromise.

They're trying to get approval for this to convert office buildings to residential. No idea if it's been approved anywhere.

They have already reinvented tiny tenement style slums under the guise of "housing crisis" -- sorry a 200sqft apt is never acceptable. It wouldn't surprise me to see some clever landlord or developer convinces the retards that pesky window regulations are making homes too expensive.
