General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
Seems like typical /vt/ schizoposting tbh. I say this mostly because I've had that exact issue with my phone keyboard giving me a different apostrophe than what my PC keyboard produces by default. Seems more likely some are from her phone and some are from her PC.
There were other tweets with straight apostrophe before, but it's hard to find them now that Niji locked the twitter.
voice has been pretty rough today so I'm going to take tomorrow off to rest.
You can still find it cached on Google.

Reactions: Blatant hypocrite
does she have bpd? seems like sad chink syndrome
Yeah, she talked about it a long time ago as Doki but I believe she kept it under wraps after debuting and as Selen.
She used to have it in her Doki twitter bio too, you can still make it out in this screenshot: https://twitter.com/dokibird/status/1279366897910206464

The Japanese are coping and sneeding hard on Sukikira because they think that Selen shat all over the rules.
You can say Niji, like so many other brands (Johnny's SMILE-UP, Disney, etc.) have succeeded in nurturing fans who are loyal to the box and not its components. I wouldn't say this is an exclusively Japanese thing, but being culturally inclined to not question authority until it's too late has taken its toll.

ETA: Also imo the Rushia situation probably cemented the perception of the public that in cases like this, the talents being unreasonable menheras.

Quick social media rundown.

Dokibird's twitter followers are up from ~40k to ~250k in less than 24 hours. I would imagine it'll get to about double that at its plateau as more people go to work, check X, wake up, and so on.

Her YouTube subscribers are up from ~10k to ~185k in a similar timespan.

Brief sweep of Niji EN's X accounts.

Aia is ignoring it all.

Hex is vagueposting. I don't watch him, so as an outsider I could see this being in support of Selen or of Niji. Hex should be a politician.
selen-hex.png

Ike is out for now.
selen-ike.png

So is Kyo.
selen-kyo.png

And so is Rosemi.
selen-rosemi.png

Ren has some very well chosen words. My hope is that management doesn't come down hard on him for them.
selen-ren.png

Sonny is tight-lipped on the matter.
selen-sonny.png

Vanta is ignoring it.
selen-vanta.png

Ver is also vagueposting. He links to this stream in which I assume there are some words which can apply to the current situation, but I'm not interested enough in him to spend the fifteen minutes it would take to sift through. Be my guest.

Victoria is also out for now.

Thank you again for forgiving me for having an X account and liking the posts.

Nobody else has posted in the mean time. Timezones could be one thing, not being able to find the words might be another, and simply not caring (as presumably Vanta and Aia don't) could be another. I'll be keeping an eye on the rest of the accounts for at least a little bit.

/r/VirtualYoutubers is mostly positive on the matter, simply happy to see that she got out and failed her "attempt".

/r/Nijisanji is on fire. Rules regarding PLs broken left right and center, non-Niji content (i.e., Doki fanart and links) all over the place, mods doing absolutely nothing to moderate the shitshow. The presumption is that they're as angry as the rest of the posters are.

Japanese reaction to the Japanese language Nijisanji X post has been predictable. Highly non-confrontational culture, and a corporate culture too (though that's dying off in the younger generations), so most of the replies are simple "thank you for your hard work", directed to either nobody (Selen), or the staff. A lot of posts finding different ways to say "seriously?" And "another one?"

There are also some posts talking about how rowdy the foreigners are in the replies to the English version, with the occasional overseas fan wandering in and doing their best in broken Japanese to explain the situation. To their credit, the Japanese posters are approaching that topic with polite, almost Socratic curiosity. I find it hard to get a measure on whether they're being convinced.

YouTube is awash with the dramatubers jumping on this as you'd expect. All comments sections are completely in support of Dokibird, with users hither and thither redirecting other users to her accounts and the upcoming livestream.

The livestream chat is a relatively comfortable time if you enjoy chestbeating, with a steady ~5000 people slowly evolving fan names for themselves over time, coming up with hashtags (which do nothing in YouTube chat), being angry specifically at the fact that Tazumi has a yacht, and some occasional TSB references. The description is yet to be updated, I would assume (or hope) because Dokibird is still getting her first good night's sleep since the attempt.

/vt/ is a retarded hellhole that only those with subzero IQ would deign to visit, and if you frequent the place I sincerely hope your attempts are more successful than Dokibird's, to nobody's surprise.

Ren seems like a decent guy, one of the only people to say something nice about Zaion as well. Never watched his solo content but he was fun in the collabs I saw him in (Mafia/Salem/whatever it was). Hopefully they don't ream him too hard.

It'll be interesting to see what happens with the rest of them. Merch/vendors and artists pulling out, their official subreddit is a disaster, socialblade has most of them losing 2k subscribers today (Millie has lost 3k). Even if EN brought in less money than JP once a vtuber is up and running it's practically free money. It's not like they were putting in resources to managing them as they've made that painfully obvious. What a disaster, hope it was worth it you weird demon looking chink faggot.

Hopefully Vivi and Rosemi get out (assuming they're not part of the rumored asshole clique) and do so under less crappy circumstances.

I'm similar, I saw his journey in the PuyoTet tournament so he could play with his oshi Debidebi Debiru-sama. There's just something trustworthy about a man who oshis Debi-sama.

My guess (oh shit close is making predictions again, ready the cannons) is they'll be mostly fine and eventually roll them into the main branch KR style, where they'll be left to rot forgotten forever. The merch vendor you're thinking of is a small time fanart reseller, they're only good for Niji as far as they provide goodwill. Yes, the subreddit is a disaster, but it's an English fan nexus mere hours after a huge and messy EN catastrophe. I don't doubt those saying they're unsubscribing (from the subreddit and YouTube channels) and won't return, and for that reason I believe a status quo will return.

the rumored asshole clique
Until someone comes out and says it, this is /vt/ tier cranial vacuum posting.

She's not a VTuber any more, but I'm sure you'll forgive me. Dearsqn has vagueposted about the situation. X is the greatest software ever, so read the posts in bottom-to-top order please.

Most likely. I don't think JP will be affected at all and probably why they don't care as that's where their money is, but I'm curious how long EN will hold out. They've had a decent amount of members leave in the last two years (but they also have 9 waves) and now they've created a shitshow in the community built around EN. Will they all roll immediately and will the drama die down? No and yes, but in my experience no one wants to be the last one out the door and it's another sizable push.

I don't mean the Elira thing, I mean what both the termination and Selen put in their posts:
She claimed that she was no longer able to engage in her activities as a Liver due to the decisions made by ANYCOLOR, was being harassed by other affiliated Livers due to mismanagement, etc., while refusing to acknowledge her responsibility for violating the Activity Rules.
I will not be silenced anymore. On Dec, I was hospitalized for an attempt that was caused by a built up of bullying from within&being in a toxic&poor environment for numerous months that led to my breaking point.
Granted the first is kind of a disaster of English and she doesn't say anything about other members herself but "bullying from within" and their statement gives that impression.

Niji's subreddit is under direct Nijisanji control, there are no non-company mods, and seeing as the company is incompetent and neglectful, no one has thought to actually go in and manage things.

To be fair, this isn't the kind of mess a few jannies can clean up. Letting the community blow off steam while doing the bare minimum to keep the board from burning down is probably the best call. It's not like the situation is going to be improved by banning people for discussing the elephant in the room.
