Part of it was Nick's reading on the actual law was correct, at least in regards to the TCPA. Vic just needed prima facie evidence, most commonly in the form of sworn statements, to at least be given a chance to get to trial and plead his case before a jury.I will admit I was of the same mindset. A lot of us farmers who actually followed the case were. As Dear Leader mentioned a long time ago, the presence of a lawyer not being on the lefty #MeeToo side was white-pilling, and that kinda blinded me to the slimier aspects of Balldo. At least my interest petered out before I sent money.
He didn't expect Ty to be a moron. There's a family friend/attorney angle, but Ty does respectable work in business law, where a lot of stuff is boring but time sensitive.
I don't think anyone thought guy who regularly deals in millions of dollars procedures couldn't even get some paperwork filed on time.
