So what happens if the Supreme Court tells Trump "lol no u cant run becuz treasun"? Does she win the nomination regardless as the last woman standing?
Not sure about that, I think it would depend on what the leadership of the Republican Party would want to do. All depends on when the Supreme Court makes a ruling on the issue.

Personally, I can't see SCOTUS deciding that. Not only is it blatantly against the constitution, due process, and just about every other foundational precept... its also not the last line to stop Trump. My pragmatic prediction is that they strike down the attempts to keep him off the ballot but internally agree to greenlight just about anything the Democrats due short of an active coup to win the election.

I don't get how it's even legal when they blatantly waited until the last minute to legislate against it. In Israel the government got flack for "Personal Laws" (ie, laws that are solely done to benefit/inconvenience a single person), though we also suffer from trigger happy law system that sees itself above the people.

Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness are described in the Declaration of Independence as being inalienable rights, but legally speaking that means nothing. They're not constitutionally guaranteed rights. Hawaii judges have their heads up their asses, again. Are they trying to make that phrase not only legally binding, but powerful enough to override what is a specific named constitutional right, namely, the right to bear arms? I don't see that working.

Biden mixes up Angela Merkel and Helmut Kohl

It’s happened again!

U.S. President Joe Biden got confused at a recent campaign event, mixing up former German Chancellors Angela Merkel and Helmut Kohl, the latter of whom died in 2017. It was Biden’s second such mix-up in less than a week.

Speaking at a fundraiser in New York on Wednesday, the Democrat leader recalled a 2021 conversation with G7 leaders when the slip-up happened. In that conversation, leaders were discussing the Jan. 6 riots at the U.S. Capitol, which had happened a few months prior, when the German leader addressed Biden.

“And then Helmut Kohl turned to me and said, ‘What would you say, Mr. President, if you picked up the London Times and learned that 1,000 people had broken down the doors of the British parliament, killed some bobbies on the way in, to deny the prime minister to take office,”’ Biden said, as reported by multiple outlets.

But Kohl, who led Germany as chancellor from 1982 until 1998, had died four years earlier and it was Merkel who attended the 2021 G7 event.

This is the second time this week that the U.S. president has mixed up European leaders with dead ones. While telling another story about the G7 summit, Biden earlier this week confused French President Emmanuel Macron with the late François Mitterrand, who led France from 1981 to 1995 and died in 1996.

The 81-year-old U.S. president has made a number of embarrassing slips of the tongue in public. In July 2023, he accidentally said “over 100” Americans had died from Covid-19. The White House later rectified this to “over 1 million.”

In June, he confused the war in Ukraine with that in Iraq, saying that Russian President Vladimir Putin was “losing the war in Iraq.”

Former President Donald Trump, set to be Biden’s main opponent at the upcoming U.S. presidential election, is not immune to gaffes himself.

Last October, Trump confused Hungary and Turkey — calling Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán the leader of Turkey. And less than a week later, he mistakenly said Hungary borders Russia. It doesn’t.

Last month, Trump also confused Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley with former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

CORRECTION: This article has been updated to correct the dates on which Kohl was chancellor.

why he keeps mentioning politicians from the 1980s and 1990s for some reason in particular
The person may feel like they are living in the past, because they're using older memories to fill in the gaps to make sense of the present.
Time-shifting and dementia (archvie.ph)

As I mentioned in a previous post, lots of experience with dementia and Alzheimers in my family. My grandfather constantly talked about going to see his brother for dinner every day, even though his brother was dead for 40 years. What they are doing to Biden is elder abuse and disgusting, and I say that as someone who hates the man. I recommend reading the link for anyone not familiar with the insidious way dementia steals a person's life away from them and their loved ones.

Kohl left office after Mitterand but also started office after. We have narrowed down Biden's mental era by a year, now 1982-1995. I still ask if anyone remembers any more of these

Watch out for mentions of John Major or Margaret Thatcher.
Aye, this by the way is for more than morbid curiosity. If we can get this narrowed down enough we can figure out major world events he has no recollection of and thus predict potentially major gaffes. For example, when not in lucid moments he likely has no recollection of 9/11.

Or collapse of the USSR if it's 1985.

Joe: I know about this! Some people did some things, man.

Here's the fun thing and maybe some oomph to help my little side project here. I know for a fact this thread and others like it on KF are viewed by people who take part in online campaigning for Trump. Some of whom might have direct lines to his campaign.

Knowing within three or so years where he mentally defaults to could be a weapon. If Biden can be made to dig his heels in to a memory and then get confronted with the truth he will do what dementia patients usually do. Dig his heels in and get angry. Making for very real massive gaffes and the possibility of him saying nigger.

I want help to potentially make Biden say that.

Think it's more a case of he remembers upto a certain point in time so when issues in locations come up, his brain goes to the "biggest" thing he remembers so he can make it relevant to him, see his habitual goto of Beau dead when talking about soldiers or Iraq.

The other element to factor is his known bullshit of claiming things he never did, I know, typical politician, but Biden's whole life has been this grift which, compounded with his obvious mental decline, could see some big fuck ups coming down the line, let alone any chance of full shutdown if actually allowed to be in a debate-even one highly set up in his favour with moderators protection.

Gotta love the desperate cope and "but Drumpft" they have to throw in to save face.

I am waiting for him to call Putin either Yeltsin or Gorbachev. I figure he seems to be stuck around the 1st Clinton term or Bush dad.
