One Piece - I'm Gonna Be the Pirate King!

I wish Luffy was actually able to seemingly do something meaningful without having to be saved by the old guard constantly

Wasn’t that the entirety of Enie’s Lobby, Dressrosa, and Maineford? Maineford had Whitebeard steal the show, but Luffy declared War against the World Goverment and then (even if he failed) was involved in a paradigm shift against the World Government.

Enies Lobby and Marineford were so long ago. And Marineford had Luffy being carried so hard by the old guard that Mihawk straight up said it was a skill.

I’d just like it if it stopped happening honestly, especially at crucial points

I thought the point of Marineford was to show Luffy was in no way prepared for the adversaries to come, which led into the time skip being as long as it was.

Still surprised Toei has skipped doing the cover stories, especially since many times they explain why things happen (Jungo, hatchan, cp9, the grand fleet taking territory). Could easily be stretched out to 1 or 2 episodes, reducing the need for slight padding
The cover stories like Buggy and Gaiman, or how Garp took in Koby and Helmeppo were nicely done. It's a shame that they didn't do anymore. That bullshit in the Water 7 arc with Boss Luffy Historical Special would've been a good time to do some of the other cover stories, like Hacchan or Gedatsu.

You think the world of One Piece has that technology and medical expertise.
In the anime at least, they showed Chopper's stuff which included, inexplicably, blister packs which only started to be used for pharmaceuticals in the 1960s (and then, only for oral contraceptives).

it's the Anime where the fanservice is toned down.

Always has been, there have been censorships in the anime. Zeff loses his leg when an anchor crushes it (no autocannibalism), Arlong points the gun at Bell-mère's chest, not her head, and Vivi's outfit as Miss Wednesday is less sexualized (no circles on her breast).

On another note, the new "The One Piece" anime on Netflix could be a real disaster depending on how its handled.

Thoughts: At least they brought back all of the old characters for these specials.

Then there's movie 7, movie 8, strong world, rebecca's bikini gladiator attire showing off more, film gold episode 0 for the fanservice elements.

The west is truly a sodomitic cesspool.
The western fanbase hates Gear 5 for not being a powered-by-anger Super form.
Western shounen fans despise being reminded that shounen series are more silly than edgy, and they still won't touch seinen series that would appeal to their nihilism.

It's because they're desperate for some sort of win against the terfs or something. Oda says Yamato isn't trans? Ignore it, they know better. Crocodile has a secret? Obviously he's trans. Let's ignore the Kamabakka queendom and the fact that Oda thinks that shit is hilarious. Troons are good at ignoring reality.
also let's ignore kiku, the only character who is actually outright stated to be male to female transgender.

As in "new-half", or "onnaotoko" (she-male) in Oda's own writings?
Self-described as "woman at heart," vivre card (according to translation from a database of vivre cards) says "male" and "heart/mind is female" which supposedly carries the weight of calling yourself transgendered. Grain of salt on if the website is trustworthy, but I've seen nothing saying otherwise.
