It's a tragic side-effect of there no longer being spaces meant for children on the Internet anymore. Neopets, Club Penguin, Habbo Hotel, they're all either shut down or used by the same children who used them twenty years ago now grown-up. This in turn is a side-effect of the Internet becoming smaller and smaller as it's been monopolized by a handful of tech giants.

Good writeup OP. But geez, seeing some of this stuff makes me sick to my stomach. Thinking about how many vulnerable kids (and even young adults) get drawn into these outwardly innocuous-looking sectors/communities only to be caught up in these spider webs of freak sex pests and groomers on Discord or Reddit or wherever honestly gets to me more than stuff like gore vids (though that might be an indictment of me more than anything).
I guess part of it is knowing people IRL that are falling victim to it:
This guy that I supervise at work (18-19, gay, autistic, socially inept) has actually mentioned the "boykisser meme", as he put it, to me unprompted. He's talked very openly to me about the furry community and about online stuff that should stay online, but in fairness to him I've entertained it in an effort to be nice and give him some semblance of positive IRL interaction. In particular he's mentioned his online friends and how they hang out in VR chat and how they've apparently given him decent chunks of money (like, $500) for birthdays and stuff. I'm sure to mention to him frequently and directly to be careful online and never let anyone (even his "friends") push him into doing anything he's remotely uncomfortable with, but after learning that this is what the "boykisser" deal actually entails, it's probably much too late. I'm sure he puts more stock in what these men that send him money and hang out with him in VRchat say than one of his managers at his part-time job. I'm worried about him.
And I'm sure that's just the tip of the iceberg. I mean, look at those communities on Reddit: even on the lower end, thousands of people getting roped into this freakshow. I don't know man. I just wish it would all go away, but I think we're in too deep now.
Thank GOD there's finally a thread on femboy Reddit/Discord. These communities are so insidious because they're "sanitized" versions of what Goonclown and Cece were doing, much like how egg_irl is a less overtly sexual version of sissy hypno. Many of the boys who fall into this crowd initially do so out of rebellion, finding identity within a niche group, and transgressing parental/societal norms, much like the emo kids two decades prior.
At first it seems like innocent crossdressing and boys shedding traditionally macho presentations, but that couldn't be farther from the truth. This is nothing like gay men engaging in femme behaviour. Femme gay men often present in outrageous, colourful ways rooted in performing what they find artistic, hilarious, natural, creative, and camp. Femboys, however, present what many straight men find attractive in women, which means that it's sexualized. There's also a large emphasis on appearing female, which is a good indicator that this isn't about breaking gender stereotypes -- it's about reinforcing them.
Since these boys are often straight and bisexual, performing this sexualized behaviour can lead to these boys developing AGP and either trooning out or becoming the zoomer equivalent of John 50 crossdressers. Since lots of these boys didn't have AGP before, this is the AGP equivalent of furries who groom kids into becoming zoophiles. Add to that that lots of these kids have been, since age 11, regularly consuming a boatload of violent, degrading porn that would have been too niche/extreme for a 90s sex shop, so they're much further gone than the perviest pervert of 40 years ago.
Reddit's lack of safeguarding surrounding this behaviour is appalling, but Reddit is even more a porn site than it is a "normal" discussion site, so hosting pedophilic behaviour and allowing kids to be groomed into fetishistic behaviour makes good business for them.

If it takes a village to raise an idiot, then the Internet certainly hasn't helped with short-term positive gratification being readily available to reinforce gay retard behavior like this garbage.
