Nexpo/YT Horror Channels - Do they all suck

On the AI voice issue, my only wish is that the greentext text-to-speech channels would stop with the Dagoth Ur and Skyrim Dunmer voices. Midnight Broadcast is the worst offender for it.
What, do you not wanna come and look upon the heart?
Upon the heart.

Such a grand and intoxicating innocence.
Shame on you, sweet PandaChai.

Every time I hear that voice I start laughing, I couldn't make it through a single video on that channel. I've heard too many versions of that Argonian copypasta. it lives in my brain now.

i usually dislike text-to-speech greentext channels and go out of my way to avoid them. midnight broadcast, however, is the only exception. idk if it’s because i can’t recognise any of the voices they use ( i was never really into skyrim  ) or that they’re just easy to listen to for me compared to the others channels usually use, but yeah. i can see how it’d get annoying eventually.

Wendigoon made a call of duty fan film with Stalker skin based on spooky stalker memes.

I saw a bit of the STALKER movie going around. Most people seem to not know or talk about the original one from the 1970s or 1980s though. I think STALKER was originally a book. The original movie seems to be a psychological thriller if I remember correctly. Haven’t seen it, most of what I watched was shot on shitteo from Japan. Though they pay actual attention to sound design and other things they can control that aren’t the camcorder visuals, so it’s not as shitty for the most part.

Edit:

Yeah “Stalker” from 1979, I guess it’s an art film. Sounds kind of cool honestly.

Was anyone excited for the movie markiplier is making of Iron lung? While the way the game was created kind of made it lose some of the creepiness, the actual plot of the game is really unsettling.

Japanese shit is so interesting and it's a fucking shame westerners hyper focus on the single case instead of bothering to just look for something less known.
Indeed.

Like the serial killer that influenced censorship in a Crash Bandicoot game.

Or the streamer, Ruru-chan who killed herself on stream. It's barely talked about and it's really sad because the kid was just 14 at the time of death and was severely depressed.

It also inspired a song which is as heartbreaking as it is disproportionally cheery.

Also here's the Nevada-tan. I did note it's been getting an uptick in attention despite coming out ten-ish years ago. Including an English cover.

Actually, now that I'm sperging on about grim Japanese songs, Vocaloid specifically has a rabbit hole of twisted songs, some of which are very Japanese. Or anything Kikou has put out.

Even the producer for Young Girl A, Powapowa P, or Shiinamota is bit of a dive himself due to the mystery of his death and the hordes of people analyzing the last songs he released.

New trend will be "digital horror" and it will be the same exact tropes but in the style of a 2008 YouTube video with 009 Sound System and Paralyzer blasting over it.
We already started getting a form of this with those shitty fake flash game horror videos like the Lacey's or whatever it's called series. Honorable mention to Jerryterry's mix of ytpmv and analog horror for being ahead of the curve, though the era of computer's it gets more of it's inspiration from puts it closer to analog horror than what you're suggesting.

Enough with the analog(ue) horror and the digital horror, what we need is daguerreotype horror, tinplate horror, neolithic cave painting horror, egg tempera horror, illuminated manuscript horror, agate intaglio horror, and maybe hammered copperware horror, if ya nasteh.
we need more horror set in time periods that aren't the 80s, give me something in the 1920's or even the 1800's, it's getting pretty tiring of seeing the 80's all the time.

There are movies such as Pearl, Overlord, 1922, The Mummy, Pan's Labyrinth, House of 1000 Corpses, The Devil's Rejects, Shutter Island, etc.

How exactly do you qualify 1000 coprses and rejects as period horror movies when they're set in the early-mid 2000s? 3 from hell came out in bloody 2019.

- The vvitch
- the woman in black
- The others
- Apostle
- Crimson peak
- the devil's backbone
- bone tomahawk
- picnic at hanging rock
- from hell

House of 1000 Corpses and Devil's Rejects are set in the late 1970s.

I think DocumentingEvil using an AI voice is fine. The one he chose is so good I thought it was his actual voice.

The newest Walten Files is premiering right now, and he's really put work into it.
A lot of it is animated, but still keeps the original style. And it's not just shaking back and forth, it's semi-complex movements. It reminds me of Lotte Reineger's paper cutout animation.

It gets kinda cringe at the end, but what can you do.

Local archive for the newest Walten Files secret episode. I don't think it has the captions with it.
It's still a huge jump in quality.
I'm still trying to upload a local archive of episode 4.

Just finished watching this:

Apparently the editor is still going to upload part 2 tomorrow despite what happened, since it was pre-recorded weeks ago.
Very tragic.

Sad to learn that Stephanie Soo and her husband had such a large history of depression and that they made a suicide pact years prior. Going out like that with so much time left.
What a waste.
Depression really is an epidemic with many hidden costs. #Packwatch
