I actually heard that the visual novel School Days isn’t nearly as much of a train wreck, if only due to the fact that you can actually try and make Makoto less of a detestable douchebag.

Course, you also have the option of doubling down on that angle. If you for some bizarre reason want to.

Speaking of foreign IPs done in Japan

I'm kinda surprised they didn't try to do a Dexter's Lab anime considering there was an anime style villain in one episode, and an episode where Dexter's family with the guidance if a Japanese exchange student fight a Godzilla expy with lots of anime and kaiju references.
marvel disk wars was kinda amusing because it turned superheroes into a sort of monster collecting thing.

And, for some reason, Spidey didn't get put into a pokeball and was left to be NYC's sole hero because everyone else got Pokeball'd.

ngl kinda wish the concept went on longer because the japs have a way of making it goofy fun. Imagine going "Aw man I got Hawkeye?" when you're searching for the pokeballs.

Just in general, visual novels are hard to adapt right, and the problem was there were too many routes that contradict each other. The adaptation had to pick an ending and stick to it, and characters were ultimately left out of the anime.

Just started reading Sakigake Otokojuku and man is it refreshing.

Haven't laughed this hard reading a manga since early HnI. Not a fan of Momotaro because I hate smug characters, but it's awesome so far.

Not sure how popular it is but would 100% recommend it to anyone looking for something outside the current popular ones.

Genndy Tartakovsky is the only western creator that references anime without making it cringy as shit.
Only one.

The anime is School Days.
I wonder if modern releases of the series retain the boat. Did they pull it off mid episode or before the show and just had half an hour of boats?

The patricide happened the day before the episode was set to air, it was cancelled completely before airing started.

Tada Never Falls In Love
I'll never get over the tadakoi cinematic universe. not only does it feature golgo 13, the hina magazine appeared in another anime or two (probably because they just used the existing assets for a single scene, but funny nonetheless).

also the aharen-san "romance" felt kinda weird. didn't read the manga far enough so don't know if it showed up there or it's an anime thing.
