This is on the level of "Consuming child porn is on the same level as owning a diamond necklace because African children get just as exploited when they're mining those blood diamonds" argument that Vaush does. We're not going out of our way to eat steak because we like the specific aspect of the rape and torture of animals that's involved in its production, it's an unfortunate by-product. Just like how we're not buying jewellery or clothes specifically because child slaves worked on it, whereas paedophiles and zoophiles specifically seek out child/animal exploitation.

But even besides that, the argument of "IF YOU EAT MEAT YOU SUPPORT RAPE" is really really stupid. The cows that get slaughtered are not the cows that are getting impregnated over and over, because the cows getting impregnated over and over are milk cows. Milk cows are not getting slaughtered for their meat. You can also go out of your way to buy animal products that didn't come from a slaughter house or a place where they forcefully separate a calf from their mother to produce your milk, something that vegans (as well as animal fuckers now I guess) tend to overlook. The free market provides .

You could also make a less empathetic argument and say that fucking an animal is plain gross and a sign of an unstable person that you shouldn't be near (if they're willing to have sex with animals, what other gross shit are they okay with doing?), but at the same time animals are inferior to humans so you don't have to care about what happens to them for you to get your dinner.

You can also say that we need food to survive, and humanity has simply devised the most effective way to feed as much people as possible without thinking about ethics, but we don't need to fuck dogs to survive so I mean, it's not really a hypocrisy. nobody gives a shit about animals suffering and dying, that's part of life. whether in captivity (bolt gun to the head in a slaughterhouse) or in the wild (hunted down by some predator, or slowly dying to starvation, random injury, or sickness) makes little difference. in the case of livestock, the entire reason why these animals exist in the first place is to provide food to humans. without that purpose they literally would never have been bred.
