I love this article in the Advocate because it puts Tony's delusional narcicism and grandiosity on full
display for the world. For the record, Evan Urqu-Fart is every bit as much a wacktivist larping as a "journalist" as Tony is. It is remarkable how many false or misleading claims these two lunatics make while groveling about allegedly false or misleading claims.

In a recent response to our articles criticizing misinformation in Pamela Paul's article on detransitioners, Pamela Paul dismisses transgender people and trans activist. Evan Urquhart and Erin Reed respond.

This story was originally published on Erin In The Morning.Author’s note (Erin Reed): A copy of this article was submitted to the New York Times for publication in response to Pamela Paul. It was rejected, citing an internal policy on opinion pieces responding to New York Times columnists. Journalist Evan Urquhart and I have thus decided to make it freely available on our own platforms.
On Saturday, opinion columnist Pamela Paul published a deeply misleading 4,500-word article on gender-affirming care and detransitioners in the New York Times. While readers may be excused for taking her article as a fair representation of the science surrounding that care, transgender journalists like us immediately recognized the hallmarks of misinformation we routinely hear from right-wing groups whose mission is to oppose care for transgender people. Within hours of the publication of Paul's story on detransitioners, we published responses that quickly went viral, appearing on academic listservs, professional networks, and Twitter threads discussing the issue. Now, Paul has responded to our journalistic criticism directly by dismissing us as "activists," a label that does not accurately describe the work she is responding to.

While activism in a just cause is a noble pursuit, and one of us, Erin Reed, has proudly worn that hat at times, another of us, Evan Urquhart, is a professional journalist with a decade-long career in the industry who has never participated in organizing or activism of any kind. Regardless, the word “activist” was used by Paul to create doubt about the professionalism and reliability of our journalistic work, and as such is equally misapplied for both of us.

Paul claims that "we don't know" how many transgender people detransition. Although she is correct that studies on detransition have limitations, as virtually all studies do, Cornell University reports that transgender regret ranges from 0.3% to 3.8% in a review of over 72 studies. Criticizing Paul for portraying regret as high is not "activism," especially when she misleadingly states in her original article that "Studies show that around eight in 10 cases of childhood gender dysphoria resolve themselves by puberty" – numbers derived from decades-old data using outdated diagnostic guidelines that conflated effeminate gay minors with transgender youth, among other issues. Notably, these numbers originally stem from Ken Zucker, whose clinic was shut down after an independent review determined his practices were akin to “reparative” (conversion) therapy.

It also is not "activism" to point out that it is misleading to use citations that do not back up key arguments. For instance, in both the original article and her response to us, she claims there is data to support that "detransition rates are higher than transgender advocacy groups suggest," suggesting first that the scientific data on this topic was produced by advocacy groups when it was not, then citing a study of military prescriptions which did not examine detransition at all. Instead, this study looked at the use of Tricare, the military insurance plan, for hormone therapy prescriptions. Because there are dozens of reasons why one would not fill hormones through Tricare, such as Trump’s trans military ban (which occurred during the study) or the desire for privacy and the use of Planned Parenthood clinics, it does not support “higher rates” of detransition at all, nor does it purport to do so. She likewise neglects to mention that the authors themselves state that "our findings are likely an underestimate of continuation rates."

Readers deserve better than misinformation about trans care; a response to Pamela Paul

Here is Tony lying through his teeth again. The only reference to the article was an acknowledgement that a growing number of detransitioners are going public and giving interviews about their expereinces with troonery. How is that "misinformation" in any way? Snaggle Tooth himself spends an inordinate amount of time insisting that "lived experiences" are the highest form of proof.

Okay, Tony, let's assume this is true. The NYT got used by one of their long time op-ed writers to insert MISINFORMATION into their paper so it could be cited in court cases.

What's the value of it being cited in a court case? Is that sentence false? Could they not have put the same sentence with citation with something else?

And what's your expected remedy?

lol that article is a lotta words just to say, “nuh uh! We are too big boys! Now enjoy this activism as we tell you we totally aren’t doing activist shit” Super stoked to hear they published 9 responses to the editor while avoiding Tony like the plague, and loving the schizo seething about the court case citing.

I only follow him on this thread as I don’t have a Twitter and nitter seems to be borked. But every time a screenshot or interview is posted he’s hammering these same little dinky points. Specifically, the one about his amazing reaction time and how because of his diligence, his response is on tons of academic listservs (psst for the uneducated, wtf is that?) and professional networks. I wonder what he thinks would’ve happened if he’d waited 24 hours to respond. Too bad, we could’ve gotten so much chrans genocide outta those 24 hours. Shucks, foiled again.

Like if you're a professor in the poli sci department, you're all on a list (list of professors, list of poli sci department, maybe list of specific area, etc.) and people can e-mail to the whole thing.

I suspect Alex is telling Tony this and it's actually some kind of troon listserv.

Oh, well, also people e-mail shit to these all the time and people ignore 99% of it. He might as well brag about his retweets.

LOL, I was recently looking for that page! Someone linked it when I asked for proof that gender identity is real and I'll admit that I was intimidated when I saw that they apparently had 51 studies provided by Cornell proving the efficacy of transition (not what I had asked for, but still an impressive bit of evidence!). Then I read the first one and it was so bad that it had to be intentional. Then the second one. And at that point I just started randomly going through articles and they were all some of the worst "science" I'd ever seen.

One study that stood out "tried" to find the satisfaction rate of Swedish transsexuals who had gotten genital reconstruction surgery. Apparently the Swedish government has an official detransition form that you can fill out to get fast tracked for government-funded detransition care, and this was their only criteria for not being satisfied with GAH. Of course, this would exclude anyone who died, or who left the country, or who pursued privately-funded detransition care, or who just didn't fill out the form properly... the paper acknowledges that, and then proceeds to just count them as "satisfied" with transition so that they can achieve the highest possible rate of satisfaction.

Seems like another reminder that, to the TRA, every human action on earth is a product of systemic forces, except the actions of their very specific group of enemies. If a non-enemy robs or beats or murders someone, they point to all the societal forces that made his actions inevitable. But when a woman doesn't want a crossdresser jerking off in the ladies changing room? Well, that's just the result of pure, irrational, personal, freely-chosen HATE.

I suppose this saves troons from having to ever do any self-reflection, but it also makes them hilariously bad at understanding or predicting their enemies' actions. It couldn't be that Pamela Paul is a journalist who considers it her job to write about a medical scandal affecting young people, and that the editors (belatedly) agree that the issue is newsworthy. You definitely shouldn't take into consideration that (judging by the comments) most of the NYT's readers seem to agree that it's a shocking scandal.

No, it must be some convoluted plot to get hateful misinformation cited in court cases, which the transphobes want to pursue purely because their brains are full of this mystical hate-force whose commands they blindly follow.

Is Tony working on reinventing himself yet again as an autistic transbian weather proganticator?

This was part of his Reddit janny persona. He was a prolific poster on r/TropicalWeather and was a big hurricane predictor and tracker. So in true Tony fashion, this consisted of reposting other weather outlets storm models, and articles. Check out his u/SuperNovaSky profile on Preddit for more info than you will ever care to know about hurricanes and other weather events that happened 3 plus years ago.

Good God the narcissism just drips off of him.

Believes he's the greatest Amazing-boy genius/premed student/grad student/drug dealer/Redditer/election forecaster/meteorologist/fantasy football analyst/deacon/trans activist/trans legislative researcher-Slash-Genius.

He's actually been successful with the trans thing but any credit he'd get for that is cancelled out by mutilating his genitals and ruining his endocrine system.

Clymer got that right by just LARPing rather than succumbing to delusions he'd be dating 10/10 lesbians if he just mutilated his dick.

He's trying to make out he's in the super important hidden resistance to the genocide, as their media mouthpiece

Except why would they do that when his whole audience already believe what he believes and normies look at him as a weird bucktoothed freak

God if anything's a red flag coming from a parent it's the phrase "weaponization of Child Protective Services". Not "incompetent social workers" or "asshole judge" but "PROTECTING CHILDREN? That sounds like AN ATTACK on me!" Filthy swamp yokels fight for the right to rape their kids, I'm shocked.

He's successful because he finally found a small enough pond. The amount of literate MtFs who can withhold their coom-instinct enough to not post furry diaper porn on Twitter is probably in the low three-figure range nationwide, and most of those have already taken IRL activist jobs (FtMs are much better at this, but no one cares about them lol). All Tony has to do is smash out a few sentences that don't contain coomer references and death threats, and he'll rise to the top of the "transgender political commentary" category because there is literally no competition.

Fundamental Attribution Error, made worse by the "system" thinking of Marxism and its descendants.

I mean, Fundamental Attribution Error usually just applies to yourself vs others, doesn't it? These guys manage to apply ridiculously over-the-top structuralism to themselves and all their favored groups, but these all-powerful structural forces suddenly disappear when it comes to powerful TERFs or the white working class. Which is what makes it so funny. They'll tie themselves in knots explaining how a black carjacker had no choice but to do what he did due to poverty and racism, but women campaigning against men stealing sports scholarships from female college students? Haaaaaaaaaaate.

(Ironically, the implication of this belief system is that minorities are automatons at the mercy of external forces, whereas white chuds are the only ones with true human agency...)
