(Just kidding.)

I guess it's because they have to sort things out financially and logistically, especially the burial/funeral, but I've always found it incredibly odd when people are buried weeks after they die.

Sammie just doesn't have normal emotional responses to anything. Even if she had been raised in a different family with plenty of money, and had gotten all of the support she needed for whatever all is wrong with her, she'd almost certainly still be the same way, although she may have learned to hide it to an extent.

Death isn't an emergency. Depending on what's done with the body, you can have a ceremony months later.

Kim's at children's hospital with Aiden. Hes nowhere in the videos. Shes just making tiktoks in the elevator and while outside smoking. I'll never understand this bitches gleeful look. Your kids at children's hospital ffs. Her tooth next to the front of the right side looks gray. Dead tooth incoming.

How would you know sammie, your mom raised your kids. You are no mother. What's difficult? Sitting your gigantic ass on the couch doing nothing? I'd love to know her exact day layout. Wake up at 11, eat, sit on the couch and watch ghetto shit white scrolling on her phone until the next feeding.

PL; my kiddo had minor outpatient surgery there when he was still a tiny guy. Super minor. I hid in a restroom and bawled for 10 minutes and then hovered until they said he came through and did amazing. Am I mom of the year? No, I’ve made mistakes. Does Kim fill me with rage? Yes. I wish a nurse would see what’s happening, drop a dime, it get investigated, and Kim’s rights get terminated while Aidean goes to live with her in West Little Rock where he is clean, fed, loved, has his diabetes attended to, and has a shot at life. 🌈🌈🌈🌈

ETA: just the thought of my baby scared or in pain made me want to die.

This is pretty common in the parts of the United States where the ground freezes too hard for a grave to be dug in winter without becoming prohibitively expensive. I'm not sure how geographically widespread it is, but it definitely is a thing in some of the rather frigid and desolate portions of the interior of this fine country. You know, the parts that you thought were in Canada and/or Russia.

Once the dead guy is embalmed his expiration date is extended by quite awhile. Pardon my indelicate metaphor, but it's kind of like how pickles last a lot longer than fresh cucumber does.

Sometimes, it's nice to have more time to plan a funeral if the death was unexpected, and regardless, it allows the family to endure the acute phase of grief privately, without the stress of having to host a major family and friends event in the days immediately following a death, when they are probably still reeling/trying to process. Those early hours and days are often a blur in retrospect, and I'm sure almost everyone has looked back to realize with a pang that they don't really remember the funeral of a dearly cherished loved one. All of the meticulous care and planning don't matter when your brain is just trying to figure out how you'll keep waking up every morning in a world without someone you thought you couldn't live without. That's exhausting work. If you wait a few weeks or months and have the funeral when everything is calmer, you'll often have clearer memories of it.
