I am a Zoomer by definition (born 1999), but I'm turning 25 this year. The oldest possible Zoomers by definition are 27. I find it funny when people use the word "Zoomer" as a catch all term for middle and high schoolers now when the oldest Zoomers are pushing 30.
Cool as a fellow 99er please never tell people again that we’re zoomers because we will never hear the end of it lol.

Something popped up on Facebook today, about the Australian War Memorial asking for volunteers to read and transcribe letters and diaries for them... because the people who can read cursive are dying out.

I was taught running writing in primary school and I'm only forty, what the actual fuck is this shit?

For me it is that stupid green text that 5 years ago is now 10 years ago or however it went. Several times I have to reposition my mental timeline of life and suddenly... "hey, the Xbox one is still kind of new right...?" Kiwi uncles and fathers, it is 11 years old now and I can still vividly remember the Xbox 360 despite it being 18 years old now.
It seems like that was the last generation of real game consoles being released and also timed perfectly with the internet making it a whole new shebang. You didn't argue like you did in the comments on a you-tube video like you did before. Then after that generation it started to just be copy paste versions of the same console they released. That time period was really the era when the wave of classic gaming broke and rolled back but also was the first generation of a console being able to do all that it did. You didn't have friends lists and able to play music out of it ( original Xbox you could but only if the game supported it ) and after that the whole games industry started to become shovel ware.

This is a really controversial thing. If you go against the grain of society or whatever cult you're in you are automatically branded as "insert current "insult" here". Mainly because people cant think.
Reminds me how 'Rebels' used to be the cool kids.
Now the coolest kids are those that conform the hardest - and cry if their popularity starts to wane.

Popularity is king. More now than in any other generation - and now you can monetize it.

Monetization was the biggest kicker. It started with Jackass but now it turned into everyone wanting attention. It's been downhill ever since.

I jumped out of the forklift at work today - which is about a one foot drop - and something in my back popped.

I'm only in my thirties, but modernity in general makes me feel ancient.
Some huge percentage of injuries among forklift, loader, digger etc. operators is from jumping in and out of the machines. I was told never to do it, but I'm still gonna until I hurt myself. You should probably stop, but I don't imagine you will either.
My back is however better than it ever was, even as a teen. Got some joint hypermobility issues that were reduced greatly by the increased muscle mass and stability I've built up since my mid 20's from a lot of manual labor.

On top of that forklifts and the like (scissorlifts, electric pallet jacks) don't have shocks and even on a relatively smooth surface will fuck with your knees and pelvis in the long run.

I've only operated a forklift when I got my license for these sort of things, but the loaders I've operated have all had very good cushioning in the seat. A colleague did get an impressive bruise and was close to a serious back injury when he offloaded something too heavy from a flatbed truck though - the loader started tipping over backwards and he floored the accelerator in reverse gear at the same time, causing the whole machine to fly up and back in an arc and bounce on the tow bar.

my back is better than it was a decade ago, but that's because I do deadlifts and sleep with a lumbar support
I don't lift at the gym, but (light though frequent) deadlifts and squats are part of my every day job. I sleep flat on my stomach with no pillow. Probably doesn't work for everyone, but it's great for me.

I drive heavy equipment too.
