A California grandfather was shot and killed when he went to apologize to for a minor fender bender in a Walmart parking lot. He had accidentally struck a woman's vehicle. That woman shot and killed him.

The incident occurred on Feb. 5 at the Highland Walmart near San Bernardino.

Jonathan Mauk, 59, was backing up his Camaro when he collided with the suspect's vehicle. The suspect has been identified as 37-year-old Shawntece Marie Norton, according to the San Bernardino Police Department, per ABC 7.

Authorities say Norton fled the scene after the shooting and was arrested the next day. She has pleaded not guilty to murder charges.

Matthew Mauk, the victim's eldest son, told the outlet: "I can't even put into words why that happened or what would go through a person's mind to make that seem like an acceptable action. None of it makes sense."

"There is a scratch on the fender. There is not a dent, there is no real damage. There is a scratch. That is the extent of the collision that he lost his life over," said Mauk.

Mauk explained that witnesses told him that his father had felt responsible for the accident "so he got out of the car to apologize and that is when the other person shot him."

Mauk described his father as a dependable friend and dad of three sons who loved his family and being a grandfather.

"He liked being called grandpa. He said it made him feel old but he loved the title."

He also had an affinity for classic automobiles.

Norton is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 15.

The Mauk family wants to see justice with Matthew saying, "We'll be there for every single court hearing - anything that has to do with this incident we're going to be there. We're going to be vocal, we're going to talk about it."

My man was keeping a Catfish on the road, you know it was an accident. Like he clearly cares about what he drives, he is not going to have an easy time getting parts.

Just a fellow car guy living in New Cape Town USA. Fuck man, right in the feels.

With a name like that, she was destined to be either a prostitute, a drug dealer, or a murderer.
D) All of the above.

"The shooter was black, wasn't he?"

So, any intellectuals reading this, you tell me, was it racist that I thought this, or was it racist that I was right?

This guy made the mistake of relaxing.
Probably.
I didn't immediately think it because California, but I was not surprised it was a fucking nigger in the least. The immediate thought when I saw the picture was "Figures."

Until the DOJ's "community outreach" representative contacts you and tells you it would be an awful shame if a grieving family like yours would be subject to 30 years of IRS back-audits and the EPA claiming your yard as a wetland, that is. But as long as you don't "stoke racial tensions" like that, it all goes away, friendo. Just read this canned statement about how you want to see an outcome where the shooter gets the help she needs so the community can heal....... or else.

Not an intellectual as I am a borderline retard, but in my estimation, you're barking up the wrong tree.

Your issue wasn't your finely-honed racism. Your issue was your poorly-honed sexism.

Do better, bros. You've gotta hone both.

I can, but the word gets you instantly banned from all social media.

Based, but I'd feel compelled to watch it and you know that one will not go quietly to the gallows.

On the other hand, the women's death row is in Chowchilla and she'd be with some interesting ones there.

🤔

This is a negress in Newsom's California that killed a wicked white male oppressor. She'll be allowed to plea down to disorderly conduct and get let off with a suspended sentence.

Was just going to mention this.

Give it a week and they'll be asking the judge to spare her because of white supremacy.
