I for one am enjoying women starting to turn on the troons: while many of us (supreme) gentleman might be able to guess someone is a troon, only a real woman would be able to be truly sure without seeing them up close.
Is this a win for cyberbullies? I actually have no idea who forced this troon to “take a break.” I think we all know this creature is just making an alt account and will be back very soon. Best part is that they took down the Reddit posts but forgot about their instagram…

These people seem so fragile. I think it's a cry for attention just like threatening to self delete. Many of these men would've turned out okay if we didn't live in this insufferable hugbox society where your friends checking you on your bullshit is apparently worse than death. "You're valid" is one of the most moronic things I've ever heard. Relying on external validation is the opposite of "knowing who I am" or "living as my authentic self" and stunts actual personal growth.

Idiot doesn’t even know that all he needs do is visit his gender affirming doctor and get a sick certificate for the month of his notice. I’m sure they’d give him one for some brand of mental health reason. Even if he has no sick leave (and trannies never do IME) at least he won’t have to show up at work again, and they’ll still have to pay out his annual leave entitlements.
Seriously these lunatics really have to make a public stance about the non-est of non-issues. The one about the not even dead grandfather’s funeral just about did my head in. It benefits both the person faking and the people in his hugbox -- being treated as a real woman on the Internet gives Emily extra strong gender euphoria (because even troons know deep down they're different from actual women), and validation from "cis" women is worth extra to TIMs because it tells them that their ruse is working and they're accepted as part of the real girls' club, so they're inclined to play along, even when the poster in question is evidently an autistic male teenager.
Taking bets on how long this guy is able to "step back from the MTF Reddit", lol. I give him a week tops before his conscience comes back and he returns to silence the voices of reason in his head.

It’s almost like the more interaction people have with trannies the less we like them. But it couldn’t possibly be that: we know trannies are valued and loved members of society and never harass or make other others uncomfortable…. So the more visible they are and the more Western governments suck the girldick, the less people like them.

Just getting it off my chest. I wanted to be happy, it has been a tortuous journey, but the day I complete 2 years of hormone therapy I realize that all of this has only brought me unhappiness. Before I knew I was trans I was also unhappy, I just exchanged one unhappiness for another. The hormones didn't do much for me, I'm not passable, I hate my body and I can't change into the body I idealized. If I could, I would stop being trans, but unfortunately that's not an option. I'm 49 years old and I'm mtf. Life is rubbish. I'm sorry for taking up your time and bringing such heavy words.

TL/DR: Biological sex is a phenotype constructed from a combination of traits. When those traits change, they shift the sexual phenotype. After medical transition, trans people do not match the sexual phenotype of their birth. And we need to get this right when we stand up for ourselves and argue with bigots.
Hey guys, sorry for the throwaway account; I transitioned like 8 years ago, and it's nice that nobody knows that I'm trans. I'm also a PhD student who studies the sources of phenotypic change. So anyway, I see a lot of arguments on reddit when we trans folk or our allies try to defend us against bigots, and I think some of the arguments we make aren't giving us enough credit. A lot of what I'm talking about boils down to this: "I know that sex can't change. My sex is male but my gender is female." This might have been true to a 5th grade biology class, but in reality it isn't accurate. Sex is a phenotype and phenotypes can change. In the womb, the sexual phenotype begins with chromosomes which direct the creation of reproductive organs, hormones, secondary sexual characteristics, etc... These product of your chromosomes establish our assigned-at-birth sexual phenotype. But it's also these phenotypic traits that medical transition can act upon and change. For an example: I've had bottom surgery, my hormonal profile matches that of cis women, and my breasts were "home grown." To say that my sex is male because I'm still XY would ignore the combination of traits creates my sexual phenotype, and overall I have far more female traits than I do male. Thus, my sexual phenotype has become female.
And this happens in nature all the time. Many species of fish change their sex in response to environmental cues, social cues, or life history milestones. These fish aren't changing their chromosomes, but they are changing their sex by altering the traits which create their sexual phenotype. And yet no bigot would argue that a ribbon eel is still a male after losing its yellow stripe and laying eggs. The fish I study is always born as a hermaphrodite and they sometimes become male later in life for reasons that aren't fully understood. Their "female" reproductive system remains in their body, but it atrophies to such a state that it is irreparable.
Anyway, I think we need to talk about how we defend ourselves against bigots and how we concede that we're still biologically our birth gender because biology doesn't back that up. I'll check in on this post and on this account so we can discuss together. I'm also happy to take any PMs from folks. And I would LOVE for some other biologists on here to weigh in! I'm just a wildlife biologist, but I wonder how a biologist from a different field would feel about this.
