Diseased #Comicsgate - The Culture Wars Hit The Funny Books!

Godspeed, you crazy bastard. That thread has AIDS. Wear protection.
The only way to make Comicsgate more funny is to implode it upon all fandoms. Let EVS attack Rippaverse FNT and Fandom Menace, let Coomalot bring the furrys plus the vtubing DMCAs, let Cecil bring Alex Stein, etc and let it all collide with even the Ralphamale to Metokur. LET 2024 END with a BANG BABY!

Honestly, I have not laughed this hard in years. The family checked in on me and thought I was having a nervous breakdown… tears streaming down my face. Holy frigging Jesus.

The newly crowned Comicsgate King by appointment, Coomalot, after doing the rounds on any and every CG-adjacent YT stream for the last 10 days, just did his best fucking Tarso Marques impersonation and after all the fucking attention Frog lavished on him, he has gimped out in dead last place with a deafening fucking whimper.

I can only imagine how Frog is internally coping and seething.

Wasn’t Ethan the prize vegetable who has castigated Eric July across his last billion livestreams for repeatedly ‘not doing his research’??? What assurances did he seek on his latest protege’s driving credentials? Experience? Past races? The process of elimination and the calibre of the racers involved in Coomer’s racing schedule??!

This could not be funnier. As others have said, a bad crash would even look better than this result. I’m sure those 60+ people who went for the ‘give Ethan a pie tier’ are thrilled at the prospect of Coommeister being out-qualified in April’s race by the Sunnyvale Shitmobile and some bloke driving a car that is two front-ends welded together.

I hereby christen dat dere debacle as ‘Coomicsgate

@FROG - "You are still racing Talladega? Right? RIGHT?!"
HE DOESN'T KNOW!!!! @The Coon called it! He called it in this post.

HOLY SHIT! He doesn't know that you have to qualify and a grid spot isn't guaranteed.

Fucking hell, Ethan. This is NASCAR! There are RULES. This isn't one of your crowdfunding things when you can just put anything up and do whatever!

Coomalot might be able to say he'll TRY to race at Talladega, but he can't guarantee that!

:stress::stress::stress:

Ethan Van Sciver will be Lol Cow of the year I called it a month ago, my prediction looks less wackadoo by the day, and we still got 10 and a half months to go!

Based on his new banner his "Infectious" projection is true, everything he touches clearly turns to shit eventually. One could say him joining Harris made the fall "Allegedly".

Exclusive leaked pics of Coomers first car wrap choices before settling on Cyberfrog third!

Funny thing is a full vinyl wrap violates the aero restrictions and won't pass inspection. Seems an ARCA driver would've known that beforehand. Oh well, sells a matchbox car for $35 though.

Whaddya mean? Surely it isn’t unreasonable for Ethan to expect to rock up at Talledega, wearing his ‘gay M.Bison’ suit and full Liberace ‘behind the Candlebra’ regalia, and have the entire fucking pre-race pit fawn over his Battletoads parody decals in anticipation of da big podium finish?

Recall friendos, that Ethan and his dumpkof son are attending that fabled race in person. Jesus let today’s race be the mere appetiser for April’s triple-decker shit sandwich.

I’ve not been this hyped for a sporting event since Eric Cantona kung fu kicked a fan back in ‘95. Please God salve my aching temples.

May have already been mentioned, but according to this, the crowdfunding is doing more than just the entrance fee and a wrap. Not mentioned in an update last I checked so will be interesting if @FROG doesn't follow through on that part. But unless I keep skimming past it, I'm not seeing any mention of an entrance fee either. So, it's all just based on promises made via Tweets and streams. Not Indiegogo terms.

I do think I recall mention of Camelot wanting to use the money to buy a newer engine too. Cannot find it now, so perhaps I misread that. It's confusing since it just becomes a case of adding more crap to get more money with no mention of where it's actually going outside of a wrap, some toy cars, a comic, and pies. Percentages would be nice. Would also be great if it was spelled out on the crowdfund site and not be forced to learn about everything via multiple 5-hour streams. But that'd make too much sense.

The Shelton guy could also just be clueless.

Perhaps someone that actually follows racing can say whether Hiredgun or Camelot is being the most honest.

I don't care about Camelot enough to love or hate him. But it will suck if this all turns out to be a scam or something. But @FROG's followers will probably still love him even if it does.

Does it really? I was wondering why no ARCA livery looked anywhere near as "busy" as Ethan's concept art.

God, this keeps getting better and better. :story:
I can't say for certain but I did read a discussion from someone who actually wraps real NASCAR cars and I think he mentioned only certain materials are allowed at that level since all cars must be the same and not at all at lower levels because of the competitive advantage it would give to the teams who could afford it over others who couldn't.

I suspect it isn't allowed otherwise all the cars would have them at modern prices. The other sponsors might not allow it either to distract from their stickers. Look at his tweet with the pic of him climbing out of today's car with the 50 stickers on a flat black background around the door. Now imagine those on the Cyberfrog wrap livery....

As much as it pains me to move away from the Coomshow, it really is apparent that Ethan is seeing himself more and more as a Youtuber:

We remember don’t we when Ethan said YouTube was just there to supplement his primary role as an artist and promoter of alternative comics. We also remember when Ethan ‘didn’t care’ about views. Speaking for myself his art streams were the only thing I really enjoyed on his channel.

That’s all clearly out of the window now. Perhaps he is eyeing up a Doug TenNapel-esque shift from drawing and into full-time YouTubing? After all, he has been begging harder and harder for superchats on recent streams, even going as far as refusing to answer an interesting question on Thursday’s stream because the comment was accompanied by Shekels.

He must be violenty jealous of how Gary and the FNT crew get money for nothing. Ethan is lazy, and I am certain part of him is resentful that he has to deliver a product to increasingly impatient backers while Gary just gets to scream “199” and play his shit sound board to his paypigs for 4 hours a week.

I suppose the engine could be down on compression, and be putting out less HP than the 700bhp it's supposed to be, but I would have thought his crew would have had the chance to notice it was down on power before they showed up at Daytona.
The cars are usually ex-Cup cars. Who the fuck knows what's going to happen when those dry up (well, no not really: they'll use xfinity chassis hand me downs next). The engines though are speeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeec. They're a detuned version of the Ilmor Truck engines and are pretty much 'do not open or you're fucking DQed hard'. Duds happen.
Although he is correct that he initially didn't. One other car that qualified higher pulled out., so he gets the spot.
One other car was paid big bucks by Justin Marks to pull out so SVG could get in the race. Other than that, accurate: Even though SVG's DNQ is kind of funny given the hype, this fuck comparing himself to him: lol.

re: wrap, pretty much no car at any level of competition is not wrapped, but they do watch the materials and application close (see also: Denny Hamlin at Pocono the other year). The only exception are Axalta super specials. Literally the only reason why the rulebook still mentions 'paint'.

I'm sorry I literally can't keep up with this thread. How did Coomelot attach himself to comicsgate?

Sigh, hard to believe this was more than four years ago now. Called it though.

From what I saw, it was as simple as Coomalot appearing on a stream with Ethan, presumably in proximite circles thanks to his attendance at ThatStarWarsGirl’s recent wedding. Coomalot mentioned his wish to race in Talladega and associated meets, and IIRC Frog simply announced an idea to crowdfund him.

Oh, and a few days ago, he crowned Coomalot as a Comicsgate King; despite not being an artist, never being associated with Marvel or DC in any capacity and only having a shit racing career in prospect as his ‘talent’.
