Why is it that no one is contesting the fact, Vaush said that "Child porn" and "Child labor" are even remotely comparable in how evil it is. Like both are societally terrible, but I think most people are pretty consistent when they think raping a child is significantly worse than having a child do hard labor. Even in the pre-industrial age when it was normalized for a child to do farm work; pedophilia or sexually abusing children was considered unimaginably disgusting.
Think about it like this, if the issue is that buying a product born from child labor is morally bad, it shouldn't be bad if you get that same product for free, through secondhand or piracy, avoiding giving any monetary support to that system, if not at the cost of that system. This is not the same for child porn, it doesn't matter if you pirate that shit, the act of consuming that kind of media is unquestionably horrid unless it's for a very specific criminal investigative purpose. Even for fictionalized CP, even if real children aren't hurt, people will judge the character of those who consume that kind of material pretty badly.
On the other hand, no matter how good the labor conditions and compensation it was for the kids in the production of CSEM, is not going to justify itself to a vast majority of people. No amount of money thrown at the child will ever make rape acceptable. This is like saying that people can't complain about a child actor getting molested behind the scenes because they claim the industry is exploitative in general even without the sexual assault.
Do people who defend Vaush think that what he said is even any better in context? The fact that he equates child rape to a child working is pretty abhorrent.
