Late to the party but I still can't grasp how this faggot actually got the place of commander in chief in the first place against Zaluzhny of all people, I haven't heard a single good thing about him.

That faggot got the position because the alternative (Budanov) was far worse. Budanov was the CIA's favorite candidate and was the initial front-runner for the job. He was a career long intelligence services general and had no real combat experience. He was even giving interviews about his strategy as if he already had the job.

Budanov talked about switching to a deep war inside Russia AND talked about how Ukraine would be ready to launch a new offensive against Russia this spring. Budanov was generally less interested in winning the war at the front than he was in blowing shit up deep inside Russia. His insane claim of Ukraine going on the offensive in a few weeks pleased the Ukrainian politicians but caused dismay among those who understood the current military situation.

The choice came down to picking between a flawed but somewhat competent combat experienced career soldier and a politician in uniform who wasn't interested in fighting a conventional war.

Keeping Zaluzhny was always the right choice. Firing him was insanity.

Think of modern military vehicles like aircraft and tanks as if they were a formula one car.
After each f1-race you need to basically take the whole car apart and do a full engine rebuild until you can drive it again.
