Community Tard Baby General (includes brain dead kids) - Fundies and their genetic Fuckups; Parents of corpses in denial

The latest update is that she has undergone a tracheostomy and put on a ventilator, just within the past few months. She's also starting to go through puberty and while she does appear alert, she can't communicate (locked-in syndrome, perhaps?).
Damn, really sad to hear that. I remember earlier in the thread when we had some kind of hope that she might regain some function but they say there is usually a time limit after a brain injury where you gain back all you basically can.
I'm pretty sure that Eva Sherbondy is totally gorked. She appears awake and alert, but not really aware. She might have more consciousness than Luna, for example, but her brain injury was very severe. I don't think she's "locked in", and I would be surprised if she were still cognitively present enough to use an augmentative communication device. She will never get better than she is right now.
I think so too. Agreed about locked in, that's for people who have normal intellect but no way to interact with the outside world in any way.
Her parents, particularly her father, really rub me the wrong way and their decision to trach and vent her has done nothing to improve my opinion of them. I'm sure they are still claiming that she has an excellent quality of life but even a brief perusal of her dad's social media bullshit makes it pretty clear that she's not exactly thriving and happy.
I hate him. Such a low, graceless, hubristic person.
Long term care facilities then end up filled with adult Evas and delusional families.
I think they call them vent farms. That's where she will go if she lives long enough.
I found out recently that she's still alive, in her 40s, and while she still needs to use a wheelchair and cannot drive, eventually regained the ability to care for herself on some level, and has her own apartment with supervision.
Well that's a big improvement! Good for her!
a severely disabled man she claimed she could speak with via the long-debunked facilitated communication.
FC is the worst; giving false, impossible hope and even raping incapacitated people like this bitch.

(It's very common for girls and women with severe disabilities to become victims of sexual abuse.)
Yep, including veggies. There's a reason a woman at a vent farm in AZ became pregnant some years back (and supposedly the vent farm employees didn't know she was pregnant until she was in thr process of giving birth).

I want to believe Eva isn't being sexually abused, but unfortunately the odds are definitely greater than zero with the combination of severe disability and fundie dad (a shitton of fundie men are sex pests).

All this talk of veggie sexual abuse has reminded me of the Pillow Angel, aka Ashley X. When she was about six, she received a bunch of surgeries and treatments to make sure she would never grow to an adult size or have to deal with menstruation or appendicitis, and they specifically removed her breast buds to make sure she would be flat-chested and therefore less appealing to predators later in life when her parents could no longer take care of her.

Her parents don't appear to have updated their site in several years (main page, updates page), but the girl would be in her late twenties by now. I sure would be fascinated to gain access to the "private support group" they apparently host for other parents who have made permanent miniatures of their tard babies.

Not sure what an appendectomy has to do with stunting growth one way or another? They're unrelated issues.

For immobile severe tard kids stunting their growth actually has enormous practical utility; they're less likely to develop pressure ulcers and their families might actually continue to take their lil' taters outside. Imagine caring for an infant. They can shit, piss, and swallow. Everything else you have to do for them. Now imagine a 6-year-old. They're about 5 times heavier than the infant and much more ungainly. If you're an able-bodied adult, you'll still manage, but things are starting to get.... cumbersome. You might develop back issues from heavily lifting.

Now imagine a full-grown adult (I know most profound tards will not grow old or big enough to reach this size, but humor me for an instant). They're 3-4 times heavier than a 6-year-old, and as they grow, their world literally shrinks. And so does yours, as the caretaker.

If someone's degenerate enough to molest vent farm produce, I doubt they'd care if it's "developed" or not.

The idea behind the appendectomy is that Ashley is apparently unable to indicate the location of any discomfort, and the parents were concerned that appendicitis could develop and not be caught in time.

I can understand growth stunting does have benefits like reducing contractures and easing caregiving, but a full hysto and breast amputation seems a bit much. I would think hormonal birth control of some variety would be the best (and least invasive) way of stopping menstruation in spuds. Hystos are pretty major surgery and it seems like an unnecessary risk for a medically fragile child.

Just seems sus.

At the point where you're lopping chunks off to make the inanimate matter less care intensive, much as you might varnish wooden furniture, you'd surely be questioning the sanity of the situation, but no, in too deep I guess.
Does anyone ever have a revelation turnaround? I remember a while back there was a UK case where the parents disagreed and had to court battle over ventilators, but do the parents in these situations ever actually see the light after a while?

I thought her breast buds were removed because her family had a strong history of breast cancer.

Someone on another website said she had a severely disabled child of her own, and said about this, "Becoming a man is the only normal thing our son will ever have the opportunity to do, and we don't want to take that away from him, but we understand why they did it." I also remember a letter to Time or Newsweek, that kind of thing, from a sibling of a disabled person who had to be placed in a nursing home when she hit her teens and her parents couldn't lift her any more, and how painful this was for all of them.

I think the worst I ever saw was an Autism Mom who wanted to chemically castrate her 17 year-old son because he masturbated in his room (she had cameras in his room with the claim it was to watch if he had a seizure even though there are other ways to monitor seizure activity that are much less invasive).

Like her kid knew to keep that shit to his room and everything but his mom was still being bizarre, creepy, and wanting unnecessary medical treatment.

If he was doing it in public, I could get that, but in his room only? He knows what he's doing, and how to do it.

Even if the kid was doing it in public, I think there are a lot of other less extreme things you can try before thinking about chemical castration.

But a kid jerking off in his room? That's not a problem, that's where you're supposed to do that. Worst part is iirc it was originally posted in an Autism Warrior Parent Group and most of the people in the replies saw no problem with it all (and the few that did got banned from the group).

Select Specialty Hospitals are basically vent farms. There used to be one in my town, until the facility was closed and incorporated into another hospital.

Vent farms are increasingly common which is why **EVERYONE NEEDS TO HAVE A LIVING WILL OR MEDICAL DIRECTIVE** Even a basic form sent to a trusted person expressing what care you do or do not want is better than nothing.

Yeah, that's getting excessive. Not getting molested is a less valid reason than breast cancer prevention because anyone fucked up enough to sexually abuse vegetables is probably going to go for anything they can get away with. The growth stunting and appendectomy itself though was fine.
I would think hormonal birth control of some variety would be the best (and least invasive) way of stopping menstruation in spuds.
Long acting birth control like an implant or IUD would suppress their period without putting them into early menopause and osteoporosis, prolapse, worsened incontinence (I'm not sure in incontinence can actually get worse in a potato though) etc.

That's fucked up. It would be one thing if he was doing it in public and all around the house around people and could not be taught to stop but if he is appropriately doing it in his room, there's no reason to harass him about it. Plus, chemical castration would be extreme if he was masturbating in inappropriate places without trying less invasive libido suppressors like antidepressants first.

I can say this because I read it in the newspaper: Our former mayor had to spend some time at a Select facility a few years ago after a serious illness, but AFAIK he wasn't on a vent and he eventually went home. He was mainly there for physical and occupational therapy. However, I understand why people wouldn't want to be this way any longer than absolutely necessary.

when I was in elementary school the teachers had a very special lesson for all of us about mental retardation, because they integrated all the tards into regular classrooms and normal kids had a lot of questions. one of the teachers explained "imagine if you were stuck in a box that kept you from communicating but you could still see each other", so basically she was describing locked in syndrome, which I am certain zero of our tards had. one had cerebral palsy & could point on a chart, and the other one went "ONT, ONT, ONT" loudly all the time. A second teacher remarked "good analogy". I can't help but think the kids that trusted teachers were fucking terrified by what they had been told though, locked in syndrome is scary af

Totally forgot about this car crash of a human until it popped in my feed. He's 9 years old, hasn't lived a single day of it but PRAISE THE LAWWWD he's here, bringing horror to every moment with his giant fucking contracture feet, rolling eyeballs and lolling tongue. View attachment 5719348
Am I’m the only one that likes Jude and have sympathy for him?
