This something I'd like to see some studies done about. Everybody makes the claim about the pipeline being real but I've yet to see any evidence of that tbh. What I see actually happen is people decry anime as for pedophiles and then someone getting arrested for trying to do shit to real children or things like domestic violence. Some notable examples are Dr. Pizza, some tiktoker named crimtheghoul, and our favorite old classic, the united nation peacekeepers.
Yeah same with videogames, or lefty men accusing the right of being violent when they got rap sheets full of beaten ex-gfs and wives. Seems most actual pedos only get off to the real shit, they don't want to see an anime girl dressed like a stripper, they want to see an actual little girl. As for the guys unironically posting "3DPD" on real women I think they are so burned out on hentai porn that they really can't get it up with real women anymore, and that extends to the loli shit which just like hentai its far more oversexualized and exagerated than the real thing.
But given vaush's many "its not unethical" spiels I say he's a real pedo, all the pedos go with "its current year" every time someone says having CP should remain a crime.
Counterpoint. Militaries use games to desensitize against certain actions. Don't forget that it's both possible for people to be overzealous about such an issue without much understanding of it, and the possibility of a genuine reinforcing or disinhibiting link.
When someone has an orgasm it is a huge release of endorphins. When people get a shot of endorphins from an orgasm or eating or anything else, the behaviour that led to that gets reinforced. This is why pets are trainable with clickers and such if they're food motivated.
So to some degree one might say, okay, so someone gets reinforced to look for drawings sit in their chair and coom. What is the problem?
First the communities they build. To get a steady supply of images it works better to find a community with the same goals. Where do the more depraved loli coomers go? Also to these groups. More than a few might be from a cp network that want to recruit more creepy uncles and the occasional creepy aunt to victimise new children.
Now the first person in this story might not be interested in that, might never be interested in that. But where this person would havr never had the easy access to CP, now he or she has to actively avoid it.
There are two issues there: first the quasi legal area provides grass to hide in for the more depraved and find new targets. Some people might participate to belong or any of the other human motivations. They get a constant view of a group finding it normal, it normalizes it.
Second though there is a difference between a drawing and a picture or video, a person is still reinforcing to look sexually at the representation of a child. The brain may be smart enough to know the difference, but it is also smart enough to know what the images represent. As far as I know we don't know much about how certain arousing attractions anchor sexual attractions in the brain, but I know that sometimes a song or location can get anchored in mine due to a good experience and I can only guess that the picture of "small crying child" has the same capacity of being anchored in a brain and have its pathways reinforced.
I'm not a brain scientist. I'm not even a scientist. And though we have enough data to know that playing gta doesn't turn everyone or even 10% into carjackers, we have quite little data about the anchoring of sexual desires and most of the research we do have is usually using kinsey studies as a guide, which was rockefeller funded, admittedly deceptive, and highly politically driven under the hood.
The base of our current scientific understanding of sexuality is based on a guy using prostitutes living with their pimp as a random sample of "lower class married couples" to make it seem like abortions were very common (helping push through roe v wade), he paid pedophiles to make their children or grandchildren orgasm to document the response (the categories of "crying" "writhing" "fighting" are permanently grafted into my brain, as well as the next line suggesting because they were brought to orgasm, these children ultimately benefited).
So perhaps we can't trust academics, even the well meaning ones because they drink from a poisoned well on the subject.
