Rate me MATI, but popularizing the practice of sexualizing anthropomorphic animals and giving degenerates with this fetish a community is pretty awful. Degenerates like this should never have a community because it destigmatizes their fetish and introduces new people to the fetish, which encourages further escalation of the fetish to things like pedophilia, autogynephilia, and zoosadism. Shame is the best way to prevent fetishism from flourishing and getting out of hand, and he helped eliminate any shame these degenerates may have felt, which only emboldened them to escalate their fetishes. IMO all furries are zoosadists (because all furries are zoophiles and all zoophiles are zoosadists) using anthropomorphic animals as a legal loophole, much like how lolifags are pedos using anime as a loophole.

Shit like this, and things like 2 Gryphon trying to worm their way back into the fandom's good graces after having massive health issues from alcoholism, asshole takes that puts furries off, and potentially dying in their 50s or 60s is a really sad thing, but at the same time it's what you get when you completely immerse yourself into a fandom.

You don't make a decades old furry party house if you have your shit together. Merlino and others like him in furry have made their lives revolve around the fandom even if it means that will only be a small footnote in the fandom.
