I never said it was "serious grimdark" I said it was over the top, which generally is the opposite. In the context of satire, 40k isn't one, although the tourists often suggest it is. The initial butthurt lefties complaining about Starship Troopers for being too mean, then you got the right-aligned people coming in to ironically or unironically play into the joke of taking things at face value, and now we have reached the final tier of enlightened centralists boasting about how they are the only one's who TRULY understand what everyone is arguing about at which point the internet moves on to the next thing to yap about for another month.

You could also change the initial outrage with something to do with "peal-clutching" conservatives and the real or fake shitstirers with liberals depending on which way you happen to slant but the resulting "illuminated" fence-sitters will still be the same.

What I say to do is what the site was initially created for and silently laugh at the drama while being keen not to shove that stick up your ass too far as a consequence of eventually getting involved.
