The Secret Service has released documents in response to a FOIA request regarding the White House dog, Commander, and his interactions with Secret Service personnel. The case identified as number 20240012 was filed by The Black Vault on October 5, 2023, and the final response was received on February 20, 2024. The documents reveal a series of incidents where Commander has bitten or attempted to bite members of the Secret Service and other staff.

One incident occurred on October 2, 2022, when an agent was bitten on the left forearm by Commander while holding the door open of the Palm Room/West Colonnade side. The agent reported that Commander circled back and grabbed his arm, and then stood up to his height before the President entered the room. The agent was checked by the White House Medical Staff, and no puncture wounds were found.

But not all agents were so lucky to be left unscathed. With the growing number of incidents, the Presidential Protection Division, Assistant Special Agent in Charge, sent out an email to the Presidential Secret Service detail asking about who was bit by Commander.

The day after this email was sent, another notable incident occurred on June 15, 2023, when an agent was bit by Commander. Commander ran at a high speed towards one Secret Service agent, and lunged at them while biting their left arm, which also resulted in stiches. One document recounting this incident stated that “East Wing tours were stopped for approximately 20 minutes due to blood from the incident bring on the floors in the area of the Booksellers.” There was video of this, but it was not released even though video evidence was requested. An appeal has been filed.

The next month in July 2023, Commander also bit another Secret Service agent in what was described as a “severe deep open wound”. The record goes on to state that the agent, “… started to loose (sic) a significant amount of blood from arm,” and after being treated by the White House Medical team, was administered six stitches and antibiotics.

In addition to these specific incidents, the documents also show efforts by the Secret Service to compile a list of personnel who have been bitten by Commander. This includes details such as the date of the incident, the location of the bite on the body, and whether medical treatment was received

Secret Service Documents Reveal White House Dog Commander’s Biting Incidents [272 Pages, 23.4MB]

That dog is absolutely being abused.
Well, I'm certain it's being neglected at the very least. Some fucking advisor probably insisted that Biden has a dog for image purposes back when he was VP, and even back then he was way too old for a dog, let alone a German Shepherd. It doesn't matter if there's some staffer who is supposed to look out for it, I doubt it was ever properly trained and it's probably seen a revolving door of staffers who actually look after it.
I've always been a bit disgusted at the idea of a presidential pet, most of the time it's an image thing, unless it's a bird or something that lives for decades. When it's some dementia ridden dinosaur owning a young, healthy dog, I'm assuming it's a goddamn prop for their campaign.

this is why I don't think he will step down, ever. that is the behavior of someone who does what he wants all the time and doesn't give a fuck who he hurts, and his wife must be the exact same way. they raised their children to behave in a similar fashion.

That dog is absolutely being abused.
some dogs are just shitty and mean, most people get that kind of dog put down so to avoid a lawsuit after a bite or two. it is difficult to make them aggressive if they aren't to begin with. I would bet money the dog has never been properly trained.

In Bongland we have a kot, but he's a civil servant so politicians can't replace him. The post has existed since the 16th century.

Yeah but it's a german shepherd, not a shitbull.

I'm surprised they haven't shot it.
They should start with the folks behind the "Oval Pawffice".

I don't have a problem with a presidential pet but GSD are too big, too active, too reactive, and too smart for an old man to properly care for.

My last doggo (RIP) was from a smart herding breed and the advice was that if you don't give the dog a job, the dog will invent its own job and it will not be anything good or productive for you or the household.

Biden should have gotten a cocker spaniel or something equally faggy.

I heard even Cocker Spaniels are known to bite. A Maltese or miniature poodle would be better.

Biden's shepherds have all been poorly trained, it wasn't just Commander who was a problem. Commander was just the one that hit the threshold where anyone else's dog would have been required to be put down but was allowed to continue pretty major attacks.

I know german shepherds are a handful if they aren't exercised at all, since it's my current dog after my labradoodle died.

But jesus fucking christ 24. At least get a dog handler/trainer/behaviorist.
Biting glowies and giving the white house bad press to boot.
My kind of pupper.
I like glownigger suffering as much as the next guy but dogs literally cannot comprehend what a glowie is. And will suffer for it, if not for being the POTUS's dog.

I like to think how different it would be if dogs like commander were raised with people that have proper skills to raise them. Not me, my skills are shit.

Fuck pitbulls though.

It's genuinely hilarious that a President his supporters will tell you is a man of the people lets his pet literally gnaw on the staff without ever thinking about maybe not keeping it in this clearly stressful environment. The fuck is Biden doing to the staff if his dog is allowed to use them as a chew toy?

This is Mr Burns level of indifference to the plight of his security.
