His wife was divorcing him because while she had become a real estate agent pulling in 5-6 figure commissions in posh Long Island NY. Dave had become Cecil a disgusting slob who stopped coming home and got drunk at his office all night streaming himself desperately hitting on a then 20-something TSWG. Also his wife and daughters were involved in a girl power feminist type teach girls music charity thing, while "Cecil" is in Comicsgate where back then they were mad a bunch of young women like Heather Antos were employed by Marvel. The chud-grift-sphere is the opposite of a charity like that. If anything back then he was afraid people would call his business or his soon to be ex wife. The only thing that wasn't a lie all those years was the book really was at the printers, because Dave was a printer.
Could be - I don't know anything about who these people really are. All I noticed was that when EVS was talking about some of Cecil's supposed past romantic encounters, it was the only time when I saw Cecil legit freaked out. He could have been acting, but if he was it was a pretty convincing performance. But like I said, I don't know anything about who any of these people are in real life.
In hindsight I think Cecil was freaking out because he was in the middle of an ugly divorce and realizing everything being said on those streams would be used against him true or not.
