If you're on Verizon Wireless and suddenly can't post on 4chan that's my bad. I was in a thread on /g/ talking about the death of the internet and there were some lefties defending Anita in our lords year 2024. I literally just say "actually defending Anita, you are the problem". Some mod gets triggered and bans me for "trolling". I do the airplane mode trick to get a new IP and ban evade. I say I'm not trolling. She was a lying grifter who destroyed the western gaming market to line her own pockets. Get banned for a month. Ban evade again to tell them "it's funny I can say fuck Anita on Xitter and fucking Reddit of all places but not 4chin". Some troon says "go back" and I respond "you need to go the fuck back to Tumblr faggot". Needless to say, at least in my area Verizon Wireless is now completely range banned. My bad.

I've also gotten this exact feeling when I got back to 4chan. It feels like anyone even relatively normal left years ago and the only regular posters are seriously mentally ill NEET's. Like there has always been that demographic on 4chan but it now feels like they make a much larger percentage. Like many of the oldfags grew up got married and went on with their lives and the eternal manchildren stayed.

Most boards are filled with some of the angriest, most idiotic, spiteful, resentful and retarded neets on the internet. /g/ and /v/ being amongst the worst offenders, combining the same people from r9k, pol, a, trash, b etc. I used to browse /tv/ years ago but it slowly turned into the retarded offspring of /pol/, /b/ and /lgbt/. 70% of threads at any given time are ragebait threads in the war between the poltards and the discord trannies.
Full of worthless, angry, resentful and spiteful people who spend their time on these boards posting garbage in hopes that someone "seethes". At around the same time incels were going fully deranged left and right. Incels only get more extreme as time goes on because any of them who's even remotely successful at managing their mental illness - notice that I don't say get a girl, what I say is getting any sort of hobby or job drop out of the incel community. We're currently at incels trooning out for self-admitted AGP reasons and gooning to sissy hypno, but that's beside the point.
So when you combined both you now had an explosion of cretins, people pretending to be cretins, and newfag troglodytes who thought that they were in good company. Eventually, the latter group would weed out the former as even the midwits realised how utterly shit things had become, and just quit.
It's hard to put an exact date on when zoomers fully took over, but I'd say it coincides with the broader generational shift. Maybe 2018.

The massive influx of that particular group flooded in hard after Reddit went scorched earth and nuked all of their subs.
There was a lot of talk and concern about the potential flood of them spewing in as Reddit was in the process of pulling the plug on them.
Not even 4chan at that time wanted them mucking up the boards.
I mean there was a small vocal presence but they generally got drowned out pretty quickly by other posters ruthlessly bashing on them.
