Five Nights At Freddy's

  • 🔧 At about Midnight EST I am going to completely fuck up the site trying to fix something.
Honestly, I can't give Scott too much shit about milking FNAF so hard. Like, shit, if I had a basically-endless flow of sweet, sweet autismbux like he does, I'd shit out sequels too.

And in a couple more years when everyone forgets about FNAF, they are going to release a major motion picture like they did with Angry Birds.

This is technically months ago, but I found this video that came out when FNAF World was about to be released.

It has been a while since we last spoke about the Five Night's at Freddy's Franchise. Which is probably a good thing. 'Cos from the looks of it, things have only gone even more downhill since.

First of all, all of GameTheory's claims that the first game in the series was meant to be some sort of profound exploration of a mass murderer's guilty conscience have proven to be nothing more than wishful thinking by the time the 2nd game in the series came out. The much speculated mystery of the "Purple Man" has fizzled out into nothing more than some bare-bones backstory about some twisted psychopath killing innocent children — basically nothing that we didn't know already from the newspaper clippings in the very first game. And last but not least, four games in and we still have no clue why the animatronics are trying to kill the player. First it was a glitch in their AI. Then they were meant to be possessed by the spirits of the dead children who were seeking revenge. But then in the 3rd and 4th game they suddenly became mere figments of the protagonists' imagination... Eh, who cares?! Just stare at the camera and go "OOGA-BOOGA-BOOGA" and we'll be rich!

But hey, at least the series is officially over, right? All of us can finally heave a collective sigh of relief knowing full well that the nightmare of Freddy Fazzbear's Pizza is finally behind us... Oh, nevermind. They've just announced a new Five Nights At Freddy's game: Five Nights At Freddy's World. *Sigh*

With the recent reveal of Scott Cawthon's titular Five Nights at Freddy's characters appearing in a very uncharacteristic, non-horror setting, CineMax and LaughingMan have severe concerns regarding the controversial new direction. While CineMax and LaughingMan have genuine respect for Scott Cawthon for being a self-made success with his Five Nights at Freddy's franchise, they question his motives. Not only does he appears to be pulling a George Lucas (ie: milking a surprise success for everything its worth via sequels, a book, and talks of a movie deal), but the change in direction seems to be reflecting of a growing, severely out of touch fanbase that looks past the murder and horror of the mythos in favor of the infantilization of the Five Nights at Freddy's iconography.

All over social media and various fan artwork sites, the lore of the events of Freddy's Fazbears Pizza takes on an entirely different connotation; the incident that occurred regarding child murder has been whitewashed, the killer animatronics are seen only at their cute, child-friendly face-value, and even the murderer, the Purple Man, has been sexualized by a cult of fangirls.

We've spoken at length about such the illogical acts of fans, but this one genuinely takes the cake. So why exactly is the new game, Five Nights at Freddy's World, pandering to those who believe that Bonnie, Chica, Foxy and Freddy Fazbear are plush, loving teddybears?

And in a couple more years when everyone forgets about FNAF, they are going to release a major motion picture like they did with Angry Birds.

The fuckiest part of all this is the new Angry Birds movie looks ten times better than that Rio shit.

So what's the story behind this Sister Location bullshit? Some sort of unholy government experiment to weaponize autistic kids by transferring their tortured sped souls to, aptly put, knock-off Jimmy Neutron robots?
I'd find it kind of funny if the plot of the new game is a way of poking fun at the ton of FNAF clones that popped up over the years.

Who knowns maybe Scott will be clever about it. the guy takes criticism pretty well. Hell its how this series come to be. Just that hope FNAF world give him the much need lesson of taking his time. This game needs some big changes to formal if he wants the series to surivive in the long term.

Out of some sadistic nerve I want to hear more about this supposed 'movie'. If real.

IIRC, Scott made a post on Steam awhile back saying he's going to stop with the early release dates for future games and instead spend that time polishing them if he finishes early. Personally, I trust that he'll stick to his word there, but I await the inevitable optimistic ratings.

I've actually been on-and-off following news on the movie, and the director said the script's currently in development.

no, not cancelled, just in the very long script development phase... Still working on it!
Think maybe it's because the only thing in the game is the same goddamn jumpscare? I wanna believe that it's taking so long because the script team is actually trying to think of new and creative ways to scare people, because seriously, footsteps and jumpscares do not a good movie make.

I think that, despite my dislike of a series, there really is a lot of potential, they have to spice it up a bit or the audience will just get bored real fast, and with the practical effects it can't be worse than Silent Hill: revelations (well... maybe it can, who the hell knows). I'll wait to see the trailer before I judge, but they seem to be trying (edit: instead of just shitting out a movie). But we all know it's going to use that stupid scream at least once though.

they say that now but the thing is still in development. when filming comes around who say they will have the time or budget for it. at best they may make a prototype for it and then the higher ups will decide that its not worth it. FNAF may have been the it thing mouths ago, but i doubt that the film will make splashes at the box office.

I wish FNAF would die already, it ran it's coarse after the first one, it's getting new level Simpsons dead horse beating.
