TLDW: The expert witness will testify for anybody who pays
Before I get into this guy who will say anything for money, let me tell you about today's sponsor!

(This is literally the sponsor for this video)

I mean, a judge likely would not give a shit. I've heard experts give two minutes of testimony that amounted to hypotheticals, thoroughly torpedoing the case. That's essentially what this lemon party looking motherfucker did.

The judge doesn't care if it's a porn sick weirdo, so long as he has the qualifications that define them as "expert witness" then that's the rope they'll hang you with.

I also can't see this tactic working out well for Jobst. It might play to his youtube audience, but it won't amuse a judge.
This is what I thought the whole video. Yeah he can be a creep but that does DQ him from what he is there for. Those college degrees are what certificaties em in a Court of law. As wild as this video is it's more content for Jobst than anything else.

It will if the judge doesn't like the expert. The problem with experts is there are really two ways to attack them. One is to attack their status as an expert based on shit like this. Sometimes they'll be disqualified. Usually, though, the judge will admit the expert and say something like "that goes to weight not admissability."

You do it anyway because if you convince the judge the guy is an absolute fucking clown at that stage, and he admits the guy anyway to go through the motions, he can decide the weight is zero and basically ignore it.

You should generally NOT let an expert's qualifications and even their personal character go unaddressed because if they put on a reasonable show, you're just letting them do it.

If you have actual real money (I will guess Jobst does not), you want to depose those opposing experts beforehand to have material to cross examine them with at trial. You want to fuck their shit up.

TLDW: The expert witness will testify for anybody who pays, is terminally online, is a perv that likes porn accounts on X, wants to be a sugar daddy and is facing a sexual harassment lawsuit from a student of his.
That one threw me for a loop. I thought he'd release an hour long video going over why a dirty VCR wouldn't magically turn your factory original software into a MAME emulation.

There was something seriously mentally wrong with the original set of high score players, as we have all learned, but Billy had an edge in that he could get his quarters back because daddy owned the machine.
That wasn't that uncommon. I had a friend whose dad ran a pizza joint and we'd play vidya there. He gave us a bunch of "red quarters" which were just quarters with red dye on them and we'd play vidya with them and then he'd give them back. We just weren't allowed to do it during lunch time and dinner and when people were spending real money on them.

It goes to his credibility if he's desperate enough to say anything for money. It speaks to his judgement too.

One important point in this video is that Jobst says that the introduction of this witness played no role in Twin Galaxies settling their suit. I infer from that that TG's lawyer screwed up even worse than anyone thought. Earlier in the thread I had speculated that just the cost of countering this guy and his credentials could've been prohibitively expensive (especially for Karl) but if he's this easily discredited that might not be the case.

Thanks, Karl's a money-grubbing whore and I'd rather not have to listen to him smugly and dishonestly jack himself off for 15 minutes about Mitchell, when he's got a track record of being unreliable at best when it comes to the Kunt of Kong.

Ok yeah you got a point. The credibility for money issue could be brought up but, idk how they would do that in this particular case.

I think that's just cope lol. Not that this guy isn't a fucking clown but TG were clearly looking for any excuse to end it ASAP and settle. No matter how easy it is to prove him wrong, they still have to pay the lawyer and drag the litigation further on, and after their lawyer made an ass out of himself they had yet another reason not to do it.

Nah, investigative journalism with a point is more of Veritasium or whatever that 3hour long video's channel name is. Maybe we can expect a part 2 where he starts messing with a tapecorder's speed and cleanliness and see if it does the impossible and looks like MAME.

I think the lawyer will probably get in zero trouble, or just told by the judge to pump the breaks. It appears that TG got a deal where they walk away and don't put Billy back on the current boards, but he gets to tell whatever copeium story he wants, so there isn't any reason why they wouldn't settle.

I hope Karl has money to depose the expert, he seems like the kind of guy that would say some goofy stuff on deposition that you could cut him up with on the stand.

I think that, at this point, the cost of lawfare outweights the potential financial loss resulting from reputation damage.

Why is your legal system so retarded that lawsuits are won not by merit, but by the opponent running out of money for lawyers? Nuke yourselves already JFC.

>Hello you absolute legends
>Last time Billy Mitchell lost big time by having the judge rule in his favor and making sure me and the next 20 of my generations will owe him all of their life's money.
>I may be hiding in Paraguay with a new identity, dodging military drones because Billy also runs the government
>But here's why Billy Mitchell is done for good
>But before we begin, a word from my sponsor, the dollar asshole shaving club

"What you're saying is that Billy is lying and actually faked his own donkey Kong high score?"

"Allow me to explain, Mr Tucker. Joysticks originated as controls for aircraft ailerons and elevators, and are first known to have been used as such on Louis Bleriot's Bleriot VIII aircraft of 1908 in combination with a foot-operated rudder bar for the yaw control surface on the tail.."
