I was trying too hard to create some content and I was overheating.
Frankly, I had noticed myself that my stream was kinda shit.
Because I am not satisfied with my streaming that I have done so far as much as I hate to look back on these.
Impatient with the fact that other contestants were maintaining more concurrent connection viewers, I tried to add something interesting, but it didn't work.
Also, I couldn't come up with an idea for a video that would be interesting even if it didn't get many views like "Screaming every Saturday and The internet explorer" etc.

And I cant avoid thinking about the financial concerns.
All my prize from the tank was not spent on my hobby or entertainment and covered half of this semesters tuition.
And I hardly receive any superchat from Streamlabs due to my PayPal region setting. (Somehow I only received the $100 superchat that Apature sent me.) In addition, I can't monetize YouTube for some reason.

I know I suck as a person, but this situation makes me regret that I should have punched him[T.J.] in the gut.
The fact that I lost can't be changed.
I didn't want to act greedy and say "1 lost but I need money so please give me money unconditionally." But I don't know what can I do now to fix my situation.
I am now in a worse choice than that: taking no action.
The feeling that no matter how I try, I can only be at the university until June, and the uncertainty of what will happen after that is killing my motivation for all my actions and stacking on my mind. I know I came to the U.S. on my own selfishness, but the reason I have been able to live this long despite feeling like I'm a fucking loser is because I have the goal of making SAO a reality.

I am not able to happily relate to the members of Fishtank right now in this situation.

Crash shares some of the blame for overpromising how much Shinji might make on the show and after it, and also in truth they were much stingier with fishbucks this time around as well I think. Not just in not paying a runner-up prize but T.J. had less than $4,000 coming into the finale and Shinji ultimately made less than Tayleigh did despite placing second. I think Vance and Sylvia both left with about 8k or so, in contrast.

Also his goal of making SAO a reality is literally a stupider goal than Jimmy overhauling that death trap house.

edit: one last thought - about his envy of other contestant's views, it's true that Tayleigh obviously outpaced him. But his views were OK so far. I think much like in the tank he is extremely easily discouraged when things don't go how he planned. And as always that strange seething envy of "egirls" that have an easier time finding success on the internet, as he sees it.

Spoiler: slightly off topic, about other streamers

TJ said last night in his stream with cucumberfeet that he doesn't know how he feels about continuing streaming because he feels like he needs to keep "outdoing himself" and doesn't know how to do that. Which is insane, because so far he's played chess and Crusader Kings so I think he could probably outdo himself by watching paint dry. But he also hasn't streamed in two weeks so even despite the fact he's only been traveling the last few days so he may just be quitting it outright.

Jimmy's habits have been erratic and that messes with his numbers, which is fitting. He sometimes goes live for 30 minutes and doesn't tweet it and therefore gets no views and then goes live for 4 hours and gets a healthy amount of views (relatively) the whole time. But he has more subs on his YouTube than TJ has on his Twitch and has, as TJ put it, been "outdoing" himself by adding new stream features slowly (at the pace that he learns how to do them) and then spazzing out at each new feature.

The 'young girl' modifier is very strong for streamers. Shinji's situation is particularly awful and putting your hopes into something as messy as streaming success is crazy. He does have a head-start in attention but the general oversaturation of streaming and online personalities is hard to maneuver for anyone. It is often hard-earned over years of grinding. He is expecting it to be good from the word go and if its ever good, its years from now.

The only Fish that's actually doing well is Josie, she is able to maintain her audience and seems to even manage some slight growth. Even she is still doing the early grinding that anyone needs to make it work long-term.

Every fish who stays on for a bit is usually told they’ll be given a boost of engagement to start a streaming career after the show, but I feel like production just tells them that to keep them on and to not feel obligated to pay them more.

I think it also makes the audience less angry about a fish being eliminated because they can cope with the idea that at least they’ll be able to stream and make money then. It’s interesting to see someone actually acknowledge it’s not all sunshine and rainbows and that the Fishtank bump is usually minor.

Another key thing (imo) is the charm of the stream & the vibe. That’s why i like Trish as a streamer. Shes doesn’t play anything groundbreaking & is pretty standard streamer but shit constantly going wrong coupled with her brain only working 2% of the time makes it entertaining. The Scribble-IO matches was a prime example of that. Her basically repeatedly throwing the game because she was too high on weed to know where to put facecam was fucking funny. Coupled with the N word spammers making alt accounts & mods having to plead with her to hide the onscreen chat.

Josie is unique, and she can't really be used as a benchmark. I have zero idea why it became this way, but she attracted a bizarre simp army almost right off the bat while she was in the tank in the way that Letty, Sylvia, Trish, Tay, never did. The TTS that came in to Letty, Sylvia, Trish, and Tay were a grab bag of jokes, hostility and sexual harassment, often so over the top the girls couldn't help but laugh or get pissed. Josie just got universal simp praise the whole way through and those simps transitioned to her livestream as donation pay pigs. The income from livestreaming is inconsistent as well, Trish, and Tay will sometimes have banger streams where they get nearly a grand or more in donations, such as Trish's first stream which I believe cleared $1300. But then you get Tay's last stream where she was admittedly low energy and unfocused leading to the mobile camera goal donation bar being hidden the whole time and barely clearing $150. Jimmy isn't even using the money from his streams for himself, its to help hoarderman so him clearing $500 considering his erratic streams is incredible.

Ultimately the most important thing for streamers is to be funny and entertaining, even though Jimmy has one of the most scuffed fucking streaming setups, probably only outdone by Vance, the guy is hilarious and his collab with Tay over the stalker phone call was fucking gold, his shit eating grin during the three way phone call when Q told Tay she was kinda like a prostitute for talking donations from men yielded a fucking great batch of laughs. Tay for her part seems to always signal boost the other fish when she sees them streaming, pointing out that Brian had painted himself yellow like a simpsons character or Jimmy was doing something odd. The S2 cast seem far more supportive of each other thus far than the S1 crew and more willing to collab.





If Shinji wants to make money doing streaming he needs to embrace being funny over his coomer reputation, I can see logic in his idea of hentai games and porn, running a stream where he operates like a Mystery Science Theatre 3000 experience cracking jokes at bad porn and fucked up weird hentai games could be hilarious. But I don't think he has an environment where he can pull that kind of stuff off.

I honestly think someone like Josie could have been successful as a streamer even without Fishtank. There are enough lonely young men who find vaguely Asian looking women attractive for her to have had an audience even without the show. She just has to giggle and do heckin cute things and she's set.

Sam and Jet aren't wrong in that the show does help them kick start a streamer career. Getting that first batch of viewers is the biggest hurdle. Just like in the tank its up to the fish themselves to find their gimmick to be entertaining, with that first batch of viewers its just the grind and only the grind that holds them back.

Jimmy's gimmick is basically smack right there in front of him tbh. Just do some accounting to figure out what Time spent+Shipping cost<The actual value of the item+an appropriate amount of profit is and start mailing people garbage as the Pricemaster.

It's one thing for someone sending a $20 dono to a streamer to get a couple minutes of his attention and another for $20 to get you a women's magazine from 1940 with "Boss Nigger Jimmy" scribbled on it. It's stupid but I think people would go for it.

If there was any doubt about Abi being insincere when she cropped up in Jimmy's chat and tried to suck up to him, it's long gone.

I'm not sure what to say about this really, I suppose she wants Jimmy cancelled? We've seen people dump piss on each other in both seasons, Sylvia whipped a vape at Letty and left a bruise, Damiel said he was going to choke Letty and beat her, I don't even know how to describe what Fatty's done... If Letty had said these things about Damiel or Chris I would get it... but not to use an argument out of Jimmy's book, but Abigail literally did jump around and soyface and celebrate after he hit her. She got what she wanted out of that interaction. She should be happy.
