Mega Rad Gun Thread

I knew you were gay. We can smell our own, even over the Internet.

I hope you want a pre-rail Jericho so you can Spike Spiegel larp.

Edit: After checking prices on used 941 R's I have to recommend against the anime larp. Do these sellers think all weebs are rich or something?
Nah I want to mount an olight and say it's for Palestine
as anything else is just a subpar CZ selling to you on the name. The OG Jericho is simple and does what it does the best, and changes to that just make it a shittier CZ. If you want a poly, get that Walther, you will not be disappointed.
Anything like a Jericho or even a Tanfoglio (BUL to an extent) is CZ-ino. I've been tempted with the PD380 they made a decent cinematic

In case it wasn't mentioned, Walther and the Pennsylvania State Police announced that they are replacing the P227 with the PDP Compact and the PDP F-Series as the standard issue duty weapon.

On paper the PD380 is a letdown. Looks like they took the PK380, changed the frame/slide to look more like the PDP and added +1 to the magazine capacity.

Both the CCP and PPS have a slimmer profile and you only lose 1 round of capacity going up to 9mm. Reminds me of the pos "Walther" Umarex P22, which doesn't inspire confidence in its reliability.

I almost wonder if Mec Gar has anything to do with why Walther and CZ haven't released a 1.5 stack p365/hellcat/shieldplus competitor. IIRC they both use Mec Gar for their magazines and I can't recall Mec Gar making one in that form factor.

Well the PDP is an evolution of the PPQ, the parts are completely interchangable, I imagine the same goes with the PD380.

Mecgar does make Walther mags except they don't sell them....yet.

For those of you who go shooting innaoutdoors, whats your target setup like?

I have the money to drop on steel, but I would be lying if I said I wasn’t interested in those kitschy new fangled “self healing” targets. Supposedly they can handle like ~150rds of 5.56 or ~1krds of 9mm before they’re shredded.

I can go to an indoor range that I have regular access to but I like the privilege of letting your tits hang when shooting outdoors on public land

I have a dinner plate size 1/2 inch AR500 handing at ~7 yards, A full size IPSC 1/4in AR500 hanging at ~15 yards, a mini IPSC at 70 yards and a custom made steel target at 100 made out of rail road tie plates.

two steel poles a half meter in the ground and about 1.5 meters tall, with two nylon lines strung between them (think clothesline syle, with the bottom line 36" below the top line) that i hang cardboard backers off of with binder clips with paper targets optionally stapled to the front. a more portable version is just some 1x2's in a target stand base i welded together from a scrapped iron bedframe i cut up for the purpose. i've used self healing targets for pistols and they seem to work fine, never tried one with a rifle before though. various challenge targets, dueling trees, and the old standby of steel plates hanging off a taller than normal saw horse with some chain works good.

spray paint for the steel targets (i prefer 8" at 100 meters or so as my rifle target, out to around 300 before i step up to a 12" plate) is a must IMHO, helps you see the hits, and also can reduce pitting if in storage that would otherwise make the steel brittle and more prone to shatter.

If you live near a railroad, and the cops won't give you a hard time, walk it one afternoon. Just bring a strong backpack. You'll find steel plates, signs, bars, shit like that all over the place. Thick, hardy steel you can spraypaint every time you shoot. Alternatively, I've had good luck finding targets at pick n pulls and junkyards.
But mostly just some targets set up on frames innawoods. This spring, the wife and I are gonna lug some plywood and railroad ties and set us up a proper little shooting hut so we can shoot comfy when it's cold or shit rainy.

I got me the Midwest light mount rail.

Fits to a T on the Colt AR15A4 upper.

I have both a Colt and PSA premium upper.

And can see quite a noticeable difference in the finish and color style applied.

The Colt seems more polished with no rough edges but the PSA has the meme FN CHF barrel.

Also noticed the front sight post ears on the Colt is a little more straighter upwards but is almost like a mirror compared to ears on the PSA.

Disappointed to hear that. I've been looking for a cheap but reliable decocker, hammer fired 380 in a smaller size for Mrs. Balls. Thought this solved the problem. She carries a Cheetah 84F currently, but is emotionally attached, so wants to swap to another 380 that meets these specs for EDC. Looks like we'll have to go back to seeing if she ends up liking the Bersas.

Own a belt fed machine gun for home defense, since that's what the founding fathers intended...
Speaking of which, you'd be the one to ask about that belt fed 9mm roller delayed autism gun. Does that seem worth getting in to even if it's only semi auto? It looks like a LOT of work but I really like the idea of belt feds coming in to the 3D printed space and have to wonder why they didn't make it in a bit sooner. I personally was really hoping that one of these autists would make a Shrike upper since they're originally like $2k and also go onto an AR lower, maybe the bolt is way different or something. I can't find any references to them online, but if they aren't anything super crazy I figure that'd be as good a project for it as any. Instead I guess they went and made a whole gun from the ground up first.

Ultimately at the end of the day it’s worth getting into if it’s something you’d enjoy piecing together.

I’m of the mindset that belt fed guns even in semi-auto are still fun. So if you like building projects and think the idea is cool, go for it man. The only thing I ask is you keep us updated if you do decide to go for it

I am the dumbest nigger in human history. I broke my makaorv. I broke a slav gun. Legit wanted to clean it and thought oh I'll tighten the trigger apart.

So parts don't fit. I can't get it back together. WHOOPS

All of you cool kids think "wow bassomatic has a lot of guns and knows gun history and reloads he's cool and all" no i'm retarded I can't fix slav shit. (to be fair it's because bad machine work parts don't fit)

I'm such a faggot I hope I die.
