Why do people find it horrifying that my therapist specializes in ERP and CBT?

CBT: Cognitive behavioral therapy

I was forced to go to therapy as a child my therapist was newly graduated and very pretty. I ran into on the street around 8 years later she was fat at miserable looking, If therapists were able to help there is no way on earth she could wind up looking like that.

I thought the same thing but after going to one I am now significantly less autistic in person and marginally less autistic on kiwifarms. If you ever tried a therapist and walked away with the conclusion you currently have you might have seen a shitty therapist
