That and, unlike Europe's offerings, Russia's already relatively cheaper cost means that a number of the Russian MIC's big ticket items from jets, to AFV's, so submarines can be exported world wide, increasing their production runs and thus even further lowering the cost per unit.Russia gets a lot more value from its spend, because they're a single country producing a smaller number of types. And because Russia hasn't decided to fuck itself with Net Zero, it's still affordable to manufacture things in Russia.
You know what the crazy thing is? A long time ago, there were this things called torpedo nets which were the major naval powers' response to the introduction of torpedoes and torpedo attack boats in the late 19th century, which were basically the equivalent of today's suicide drones in terms of how they upset established war doctrine. I seriously wonder if employing something similar would at least be an immediate solution to the problem these sea attack drones pose./pol/ trying to find solutions to protect the ships.
