It's finally over, huh? I'd been predicting it every year for so long that I thought it would never happen just to spite me.

While them as a podcast network will apparently be sticking around, it's still a very somber moment. I watched RVB in high school and kept up with this company all through Achievement Hunters golden years, Laser Team and I kinda quit around the time Ray left and they got bought out the first time. I'll never forget all those god tier AH moments, their super funny shorts and all the hilarity Red Vs Blue gave me. Hell, I was actually kinda warming up to FuckFace, in particular the does it do videos. Those were fun and kinda felt like OG RT.

I'm not surprised, but I'll still say a quick prayer anyway.

Wow. I guess alienating your audience and walling off potential growth on YouTube to your own site isn't a recipe for success.

RT has been dead to me for a long time now. Only question remains is what will happen to everyone.

I hope Geoff doesn't kill himself.

Rt dead at 21 years
A big, hearty F for Rooster Teeth. Their old stuff remains hilarious and I will be going back to it for a long time, and at least they won't be able to tarnish their legacy for much longer. S for modern Rooster Teeth though. It's telling that the last tweet on their account was Trevor and Barbara.

Let's hope Burnie, Geoff, Gavin, Joel and Gus start a podcast.

RIP rooster teeth. Genuinely the only thing I watched from them was RvB. And I still have my burned DVD's we used to trade with friends, with the divx logo in the corner. Genuinely didn't care for anything else they did. Can't even think of what else they did other than...Ruby?
Ya shoulda stuck to making machinima. Youve been a zombie for 14 years.

DSP outlives another.

This is so fucking bitter. While it's been effectively dead to me for at least 6 years, the news that it's officially dead just opens the wound again
I'm right there with you. Started watching them in 2004, and went up through RWBY S3 before I started noticing the marked decline in quality after all that. I'm glad I've already backed up most of the content I enjoyed.

Isn't it strange that around when they started hiring people based on their skin color and gender identity rather than their skills is when shit really started going down the drain.

Are they all still on good terms with Joel? I honestly don't remember a lot of what was happening in the company when he was shit canned.

a couple other failed animated series nobody heard or cared about like Genlock.

Heard that apparently WB is already looking to sell the IP too, guess talks to sell the company wholesale fell through, no surprise there. Problem is, RWBY isn't a door busting franchise, just "Better than average" youtube animation for 2013, and RvB is practically useless as an IP. You can't sell merch for it, or meaningfully license or expand without microsofts thumbs up, considering its all ripped and modified halo shit at its roots still, and the old stuff people care enough to actually buy merch for is even deeper in that mess.

Only worthwhile thing there is selling backseasons of RvB and RWBY to a streaming service for cheap backlog filler.

Now I wonder what'll happen to Death Battle since While I don't know what they'll do with Red Vs Blue besides canning it, and RWBY is more or less owned by Waner Bros and thus will probably just be outsourced to a theoretically more competent studio, Death Battle seems to be in more or less a limbo state since the only thing they've been doing is podcast episodes and reuploading the Battle half of past Death Battle episodes
