Derailing things from the Wilbur Soot discussion to inform you guys that Quackity is now being investigated by the Solidaires Informatique Jeu Vidéo, a French union that deals with labor disputes in the digital media space.

As their statement explains, Quackity hired administrators to manage the QSMP server and roleplay the NPC characters, similar to the Yogscast NPCs from back in the day. Despite admins being required to work full-time schedules for some of these streamers, many of them have been getting paid next to nothing.

The reason the French Syndicate is getting involved is because 4 of the administrators that came out with allegations of unfair treatment are French citizens, which puts this situation under the jurisdiction of French workers' rights law. Should Quackity be forced to compensate these French admins relative to the French minimum wage (1,500 EUR a month), fans are speculating that Quackity may have to shut down or scale back the QSMP, citing years-long issues the streamer has had with his merch company.

In true MCYT fashion, QSMP stans are trying to call out the union for "spreading misinformation."




After the whole Wilbur situation, I figured the next MCYT drama was gonna be something tame like "Dream launches another overpriced merch drop" or "Philza Minecraft launches a toad into orbit" I didn't expect to see Quackity getting investigated by the union that sued Ubisoft back in 2021, but honestly I'm here for it. At the current moment, the QSMP is closed off to its streamers while the payment issues between Quackity and his staff gets resolved, however members of the MCYT space have speculated that this dispute may lead to the QSMP being permanently shut down if Quackity is unable to pay out his staff members, citing ongoing issues that his merch company, Quackity Studios. Issues such as failure to fulfill orders, poor customer service, and potential giveaway fraud. In a dramatic twist of irony, all of these issues could have been avoided if he didn't burn bridges with one of his fellow content creators.

Ordinarily I’d agree, but in this instance the fault is on Quackity for offering pay to these Jannies and making them “work” 40+ hours a week. That said, I think he was also using them for non-English customer support on his merch shop.

Let this be a warning that any type of labor agreement with the French is akin to a Faustian Contract, would not recommend

I think the weird thing that’s really fucking him was Quackity made the jannies sign a Mamamax-esq NDA, which prevents them from interacting with Jannies that speak different languages, commenting on allegations against QSMP or it’s streamers, or disclose any grievances they have with their work under Quackity Studios

Part of me’s wondering if nepotism/racial bias has a factor in those terms. Would find it hilarious if the Spanish-speaking admins were getting paid a bag

(archive) There's a theory that Quackity's brother Roscript, a former content creator that was outed for being a groomer, is currently managing the QSMP with Quackity under the name Quid. Evidence supporting this is Roscript is still a part of Quackity's discord (albeit inactive), and this Quid account only appeared online in March of 2023 and has zero presence outside of the QSMP.

Generally speaking, it's a pretty stupid idea to decry people as stalkers and immediately ask them to stalk someone for you. It's possible that Roscript is Quid given the information presented. The fact that Quid has no online presence outside of the QSMP, yet is affiliated with the project through Quackity Studio definitely seems sus, but at the same time Dream has 30 people working for his merch company that aren't a part of MCYT. That's just how things are sometimes with projects like this, and I'm not really inclined to do anything beyond a cursory glance unless there's evidence that can actually be looked into.

That said, I was able to check two emails that belong to Quackity's brother, originalroscripts@gmail.com and adrianmaldonado@gmail.com. Unless you want to run a dictionary attack on two Bcrypt hashes, I don't think there's enough info to work with here.
