Should sticker notifications be brought back?

Ultimately it's your site and you can cry if you want to, but don't you think it says something if a sizable portion of your userbase found a feature useful, even if it didn't fit the autistically rigid way you'd like then to use it? This is a hell of a meltdown, nobody is crying that they lost their reddit karma, they're upset a useful feature got removed because you got MATI.
I remember Null once saying something to the effect that Lowtax and Moot went wrong once they started to lose the pulse of the everyday user experience. Stickers are too minor to doompost about, but Null clearly didn't understand how a sizeable portion of the userbase uses the website. Now he knows but he's too stubborn to let it go. He'll have it be a trail period to see how the forum is without the notifications and if everyone has gotten tired of bitching he'll say "Told you it wasn't so bad, you big babies" or if people keep complaining, he'll acquiesce and say something like "Fine, the mongoloid masses have won. Everyone gets stickers back and here's some confetti you drooling retards."

No, I removed it specifically because I've realized that not only have many, many users apparently trained their brains to use a forum specific way that is counter-intuitive to how forums are supposed to work, but you're also making posting decisions based on that feedback.
Then why have a front page? So many things are highlighted there, you could go years without ever navigating a board. I have it open throughout the day and refresh every few hours, clicking new sperging, interesting looking threads I never knew about, or old threads I haven't visited in a while.

Apparently that's mental damage, I'm supposed to catalog every scrap of possible interest on the site myself. Watch everything, bookmark everything, memorize where specific threads are, keep track of which threads are moving by having 10 tabs open with different boards, etc. If I want a sticker dopamine hit that's bad, except I can still get it with 2 clicks instead of 1, which obliterates the Twittercampus part of my brain somehow.

Truly the front page is a worse abomination than stickers ever were. The same dozen retards telling me the "proper" way to use a forum today never mentioned the front page, so surely it's a tool of Satan himself. God forbid any new emergent order arise from giving people tools and letting them organize how they wish.

You already corralled the last people on the Internet who want the board style forums, why do we all have to navigate it the same way too?

Okay but what if sticker notifications are the only thing keeping someone from jumping in front of a bus?
Trust me, they aren't. The amount of panic in this thread shows how detrimental they are.
Except it doesn't, unless he's somehow capitulating after months of maintaining a hardliner free speech stance, which is why I asked you for clarification on what you were implying.
If you tell someone to die over and over, and they do it, the knife is in your hands as much as theres.
As for A&N, do you have any idea how many of those threads there die out after a few posts? It might be a large subforum but you idiots pretending it's the de facto center of the site tend to all fall in the same category: retards who are more mad about the politics of it and too cowardly to just banter with people and suck it up. Most of the people I've seen actually comment about how they stay out of A&N are still very active in other parts of the site, so I'm not seeing any substance to your claim that we meanie heads in A&N giving out autism negrates were reducing activity on the overall site. We aren't the autism mafia.
Now we are at " I guess A&N is big but it isn't a problem ".

This, plus they are autists having a shitfit over a change to their routine.

Imagine how much banning everyone who complained about this would improve the site.
That's fair but I already had my sticker notes turned off so removing them means I personally lose nothing and gain a big hilarious autistic sitewide temper tantrum to enjoy.
Notice how they are "man disrespecter " and "woman respecter" respectfully.
This isn't to save the forum, @Null youre falling prey to simps and hags.

i will say, i found the various notifications to be a major advantage of actually making an account rather than just guest lurk. this led me to be more engaged in the forum, and ultimately led to me donating to the war fund.

but that's still just a relatively small complaint. this forum is great, and i'm glad i had the opportunity to benefit from that system while it existed. if null says it's best to do away with it, well, it's his site. dude put his whole life into it at great personal cost. seems to be a weird thing for us as users to get tilted over. a reasonable complaint to an extent but nothing to fight over

Then why have a front page?

Truly the front page is a worse abomination than stickers ever were.
I hadn't thought of that. The front page's Featured Content is demonstrably bad for thread quality, as everyone knows and bemoans when their favorite cow gets invaded by retards who haven't even read the first page. And yet it is the humble sticker on the cross....... Looking forward to tomorrow when there's no front page and you have to navigate using notes you took of each thread you like.

No, I removed it specifically because I've realized that not only have many, many users apparently trained their brains to use a forum specific way that is counter-intuitive to how forums are supposed to work, but you're also making posting decisions based on that feedback.

This started because I received feedback from multiple users that they prefer to post in fucking retarded DM chains specifically because they don't want negative feedback on their posts. They have been discouraged from using this webforum as a forum because they do not feel safe to post as a result of these incessant notifications and looming persistent scorecard ratings. That is FUCKING STUPID. That means the site is broken and is fundamentally failing to encourage people to use it. It means that the reaction system, which exists to provide feedback on individual posts, is having a chilling effect on the entire site.

I am not undoing this. I am observing genuine psychological damage inflicted on people.
You did it because you had yet another big fucking tantrum and your own severe psychological damage caused the predictable reaction :story:

Sorry, I ruined the whole "trial period" idea by calmly explaining to Null why I liked the Status Quo ante Retard Bellum, causing him to declare a portion of the userbase that used the feature mental defectives and state that he's not changing it back ever.

Give it time, people will learn to check 'Reactions Received' and chimp out about their trashcans there.
I am already doing that now. Why do I have more Trash Cans then MATI reaction stickers? This an outrage I tell you, an outrage! Stickers have so much value now clearly in both functionality and as a reaction score system.

The change is already bearing fruit. Look at this thread, everyone giving actual real opinions. Imo, someone hit the nail on the head a few dozen pages back with the fact that this is an embarrassment & dopamine issue when it’s broken down into parts. The information is all still here, the key is that you have to access it differently. It’s already working to make posts more sincere. True & honest good change. Less follow the leader in regards to thought, more independent thinking. Having stickers off removes importance from an arbitrary score to your words. Yes, it feels good to be “approved” with nice feedback, but it’s truly freeing to not even have that as an idea while perusing a forum.
No stickerchild. Nigger.

Oh look another faggot that hasn't really read anything that was said.

Wrong, that all happened cause he would shit-up and derail discussion. HES the one that got mad about stickers and right wingers all the time.

He would shit any and all threads on purpose cause of his hateboner he had.

You've done us all a favor by being a fuck-up. Now retards points have been permanently abolished. It was the gayest holdover from Xenforo and I'm glad it's gone.

We'll have to code our own front page next.
