Oh cool, I can pay 15$ a month to watch the worst people still at Rooster teeth pretend to be critical role. I think I'd rather buy rope and kill myself.
Doesn't matter now but it was crazy that it was $15 a month. Some of the best podcasts in the world that offer paid content on Patreon or SubStack don't charge $15 a month.

I feel like associating all of Rooster Teeth with the Vic thing is kinda fucked up. They were actually a pretty big company with a lot of fans of their shit. Like things happened outside the lawsuit.
Don't know that many people are only dabbing on RT due to Vic. He's a big reason why I'm happy they failed, but I already despised what RT had turned into years before they knifed him in the back, and I know I'm not alone with that.

I can't quite put my finger on why, but I kinda want to kick the chair out from beneath the individual who typed this paragraph. its like when a cat gets the urge to swat at the face of a person. it doesn't know why, it just knows that it senses a presence of weakness and must Strike towards it. Maybe it's the endemic insincerity that radiates from this predictable and heartless farewell clearly written by the absolute grayest of NPCs, maybe it's just seeing the word "Vtubers" being used without contempt.
Implying that Japan embraced RWBY.
Implying that Japan uses "anime" as a term for Japanese animation instead of just animation in general.

Edit: Also, since the original animator was ethnically Japanese they consider him legitimately Japanese despite being born and raised in the US.

Wow. I guess alienating your audience isn't a recipe for success.
If they were truly honest that announcement memo should have mentioned something like;

"Looking back we realize the horrible mistake we made by alienating our fans, some who have been with us since day one while others we gained along the way, by telling them to shut up and stop watching. Telling your customers to stop consuming your product is the absolute worst thing a company could do and at the end of the day we paid for it. We also should not have tried to change the company and gain an audience that doesn't actually exist. Again, these woeful mistakes are what in the end caused this company to fold."

Of course even in the end they either lack the self awareness or just flat out refuse to admit the obvious in public.

I think Season 10 of RvB was a good one (it focused on all the agents and their backstories).

I watched 3 episodes of RWBY and forgot about it, then chain watched it last year. I can understand why people would hate it if they watched it as it came out .. so slow .. so many constant cliffhangers, zero conclusions or direction.

Guess we'll never know how it ends (neither did the writers; they just got drunk and made shit up) and no one really cares.

Burn in Hell, RT. I don't know if it's been posted yet, but as of now Warner Bros. Discovery has a $44.5 billion dollar debt that only went down because of Zaslav (the recent DC movies didn't make shit). This makes me wonder if AEW, DC Comics, NRS, and WB Games are next (I hope all of them get chopped because fuck Tony Khan and Ed Boon). AEW isn't going to get a good deal from Zaslav, and he sure as fuck isn't going to throw more money at Ed Boon and NRS (It just had a "big tournament" in Brazil...that only had 69 people enter for 10k. Nobody wants to play Woke Kombat). Suicide Squad has to be hurting WBD because of the refunds, and Multiversus was a flop. Is Max even doing well?

"Looking for work as a trans woman is a doomed prospect", you hate to see it.
Except trannies are the flavor of the month for ESG points and DEI checks corporations want. They have special privileges, and get away with anything they want including rape, grooming, mass shootings, death/rape threats, harassment, homicide, etc. With how woke western corporations and industries are, you need to be unlikable and incompetent for someone not to hire you (in other words, you're as bad or worse than a lolcow or even someone like Brie Larson). Being a tranny in a blue state is an automatic hire. Frito Lay just pulled a Bud Light with their new "spokesperson," who tweeted about wanting to rape and fuck 12 year-olds, so you're doing something wrong as a tranny if he got work, but you're not getting hired in Clown World.

Funimation and Anime News Network did have bigger roles to play in their mudslinging, but Rooster Teeth helped to spread and originated the cooked up muckracking claims against Vic. As much as I'd like for Anime News Network to be maimed helpless and left for feral pigs, they've always been a fucking problem since anime got huge in the United States; in the scale of things, they had the choice to not do evil, but decided to for the sake of covering their asses to cover for an actual sexual abuser and rapist, and I'll say out of my belief system: something else is awaiting them.

The header isn't wrong. I'm enjoying it for what it is. Everything is alright with the world.

I just realised this got exactly one episode that aired not even 24 hours before the company imploded and is presumably the last content it ever produces. It peaked at 286 viewers and net them a whopping 11 new Twitch followers. That's fucking hilarious and must be utterly humiliating.

I echo the belief rooster teeth has been dead for a long time. It was doomed from the start really. It was one of the original Internet content businesses and died due to the reason all the others died: the founders were not the type who should run a business and got lucky. All the main founders had major problems or were made a problem. Burnie obviously started writing his personal and relationship problems into RvB as the series went on and lost focus by becoming Internet simpsons. Geoff has always been a simmering mess of alcoholism and marriage issues. Gus is the definition of the guy who got successful by being there. Joel was sidelined for years then ousted as a sacrifice to politics. Matt was a guy who did his job and little more besides being friends with that barenaked ladies band. I don't remember much about jason besides that he was in some of the very early live action skits. Once the whole thing was sold, they all lost interest in maintaining the ship and let it rot. It all went very sour after 2014 too with the increasingly confrontational environment of online politics.

What gaming group that purely makes youtube videos still exists? The yogscast? That's about it. A lot of the rest were bought by rooster teeth or other umbrella brands that have all folded. It feels like rooster teeth was a success story about what happens when you lose interest in what makes you successful.

I can’t believe this is the last fucking thing these guys uploaded lmao.
Of course even in the end they either lack the self awareness or just flat out refuse to admit the obvious in public.
No one is going to admit they were so very, very wrong, in the face of absolute defeat. I'm sure there's plenty of RT employees that would rather take Gus' retirement plan before ever admiting they fucked up.

I will admit I did watch them a lot when I was in junior high and early high school so I am a bit sad but they became a wretched garbage place so it is better that they were dragged out back and put down rather than withering into obscurity or them somehow making it worse. Rest in Piss

They forgot to mention that while RWBY was quickly embraced by Japan it also quickly thrown in the trash and became a big fat nothing. It was basically considered trash after it stopped having high school shenanigan bullshit in it.
