I Remember when a Jap company made a RWBY anime and it was good enough that the voice actors (who were all shit actresses who got the job based on their relationships with other staff) were personally offended by it being better than their awful shitheap of a series. And then started Twitter drama to get it shut down. Resulting in that same Jap company never working with Rooster Teeth again.

And people are wondering why this company got shut down so suddenly.

Though I saw on twitter that Dillon Goo and his studio are interested in RWBY. Which is interesting because not only did Dillion used to be a fight choreography for RRwby, Shane Newell works under Dillion too. Montys OG apprentice or so Ive heard.

Tubi prolly grabs all the random old shit like Strangerhood, 1-800 Magic, PANICS and their movies too. Nobody is stupid enough to buy Gen Lock so thats just going in a vault.

Got genuinely upset about this for Monty exclusively. He's brought on board, his animations bring in TONS of new people to RvB, he gets his own show with anime girls and gunblades, takes it off to good reception despite how awful it is, gets indirectly murdered by his girlfriend (who gets off with a quarter million dollars), then the people left in charge of his show run it into the dirt. The final nail in the coffin being the end of the absolute trashfire of the company that owns it, and now all we have are hopes someone will buy the IP and actually give a fuck about it. Extremely unlikely.

I feel terrible for him. Truly talented guy who got the chance to make his own dream anime then he dies from an allergic reaction by his own partner. His creative lovechild doomed to fade into obscurity and rot. So sad.

RVB - I can't imagine you can do anything "new" with it and Microsoft can just do their own in-engine anything if they wanted to (as they own Halo). The idea of them paying any tangible money for a done series.

RWBY - It's super dead. RT really killed any momentum it had over the last ~5 years and there are very few people left who give a shit. Any "serious" studio is better off getting a different IP/making a new IP then trying to deal with the mess that RT made. The lore is a mess and it's all over the place and there's a very small chance you'll get any of the voice cast back (because they were all making huge RT salaries to do a mediocre job) and the main driver of it (Monty) is not coming back.

Roosterteeth was basically a rotting pier waiting to meet the ocean floor. The Ryan Haywood fiasco was the storm that battered it making it unstable. AH going under was the walkway collapsing & Today marked the whole rotten thing crumbling into the sea to be washed away.

Absolutely no sympathy. They knew full well that “Go woke Go Broke” exists for a reason. But Hey: They were on the “right side of history”. It only cost them their entire legacy,jobs,reputation & their entire company

I spent hours watching Rooster Teeth content in my childhood, so seeing it finally shut down gives me a small pang in my heart. However I'm still laughing from Ryan destroying his life. Seriously how did he think no one would find out? Coordinating fucking his hoes on company dime, and convincing them he NEEDS to keep the condom off. Plus those godawful daddy text messages. And then the hoes snitching on him when they found out he fucked other women, after they thought they were his exclusive mistress.

I liked RvB in its first couple seasons and loved Funhaus/IG until everyone funny left. But the most entertaining thing they've made so far is RWBY.

Not because it's good. Fuck no. But because it's a dumpster fire that consumed their entire company.

• Created as a vehicle for well-animated fight scenes, animation outside of fight scenes is terrible and really just a way to get to the next fight. The creator is aware of this and writes accordingly.
• Creator died in hilariously convoluted circumstances that boil down to "because his girlfriend refused to get rid of a cat he was highly allergic to".
• RT pays her off with ~$250k because "Reasons". It's rumored that she was holding the creators notes, character sketches, ect until they paid her.
• They quickly run through all the material the creator left them.
• Without the creator, all world building is now pulled out of their asses and the plot is made up as it goes along by multiple incompetent writers with political agendas.
• A series founded on the concept of "Cool combat, light plot" ended up becoming "Character driven" and focused on "World Building". This led to a bunch of shitty drama rather than cool fights.
• Male main character does nothing, is literally just there so it's not all girls.
• Beastfolk are supposed to be an allegory for oppressed minorities, but are violent, racist assholes that are almost completely unsympathetic, thus making racism seem justified.
• Beastfolk attacks on innocents is portrayed as "Justified" due to their "history of oppression". Thus the series literally promotes terrorism as "Righteous".
• The writers double down on these poor portrayals numerous times, and get pissed at the audience not "Getting it"
• Unsympathetic Beastfolk Girl main character hooks up with Blonde Girl main character for a woke, lesbian romance and to further "The message", despite them having no chemistry, hating each other for most of the show, and the beastgirl being a terrible person.
• The poorly written romance is hugely disliked. Once again feeling contempt for their audience not liking it, the writers shove it EVERYWHERE in the show, pissing everyone off more.
• Legendary "Homophobic Ruby" meme is created in response. Rubys "Nonbinary" voice actress is triggered, writers throw fits.
• In retaliation, the writers have Ruby driven to suicide in the show. None of her friends care. Even her sister is too preoccupied with lesbo Beastgirl GF to care.
• Ruby offs herself on-screen, but "Reincarnates" more powerful than before but free from her "Flawed past personality, so it's all okay. Thus the series promotes and encourages suicide as a solution to emotional problems.

At this point, the writers/animators are all Troons/Wokies that are grossly overpaid, the entire last season was filler, and the entire series was a time and money sink. So it's no surprise it dragged RT as a whole down with it.

I'm sure there's a ton I'm missing, like the Vic drama, the writer spergouts on Twitter, ect. But we have a thread for the series already.

The thing with Roosterteeth and Vic was that he was accused by Monica of sexual assault. RoosterTeeth, rather then ignore the accusations, because they were just that, simply cut him out entirely from voice acting in their shows.

Less then six months later, a Vice President at Roosterteeth, who demanded Vic's termination, was arrested for domestic violence. The details of it are not fucking pretty, it wasn't a slap with a controller, the dude pummeled his wife with a hole puncher until she was unconscious.

Iirc, he was deathly allergic to cats. His BPD girlfriend picked up a stray cat and would not get rid of it. He started getting some sort of allergy shots to help deal (probably steroids of some sort). It did not fix the allergy in the end so he died from a severe allergic reaction.

Roosterteeth had arcs of drama and eras where things were mostly fun. You had clear signs where things started slipping. The biggest example of them being faggots was never really firing anyone they had disagreements with, like Kathleen or Joel.

The Kathleen Zuelch situation in retrospect is the more egregious of a red flag about the direction of the company. Kathleen basically had her characters in the shows written out and was not invited to anymore events (iirc). Why? She called out the forum mod (Barbara Dunkelman who joined at like 11 as a pickme) who eventually become a community manager for being unladylike (nice way of saying hoebag slut openly) and how giving your girlfriend or boyfriend a job at the company that now wasn’t just 20 people was a bad idea.

Joel just seemed more like they really couldn’t fire him without pissing off people until he called Gavin a retarded Britoid for not owning a firearm after his house was burglarized and then again after a crazed fan tried to fuck his busted beard of a GF. Joel played a fan favorite character who sold the most merch and was prevalent in their live action content for willing to play multiple roles. He was based and was a precious metal appreciator who did shit like this:
