The movie was certainly satire in much the same vein as RoboCop, another film by the same director, but the book wasn't. It wasn't fascist either, but people without any critical thinking capabilities who associate the themes of militarism with fascism (and have probably only ever seen the film which is quite overt in portraying humanity as space Nazis) keep saying it's fascist.
As for the novel being fascist, I'd argue that it's actually quite the opposite. Although fascist doesn't really have a strict definition (even George Orwell realized it was just a term used to describe people you didn't like and this was 80 years ago) most would agree that it's an ideology that places the nation state above the individual. Meanwhile the narrative in the book directly contradicts this notion, and even goes so far as to state that the entire state should be willing to sacrifice itself for the life of just one individual, and contains many other aspects that make claims of it representing fascism fall flat even with the most casual of analysis.
I haven't played the game so I can't really comment on it, or to what degree it mirrors the themes of either the film or the novel, but space marines in power armor wrecking shit is going to make for a popular game if executed well. If the game is largely free of "current year" political bullshit, I can certainly see why it's become popular.

He's still working on Stardew Valley, there is a patch coming up, no date yet, but with new quests, new people, new plotline. I'm almost inclined to write him stereotypically out of dumb woman emotions to tell him to not give in to the tranny bullies because his game is amazing the way it is. It will backfire, as always. So let's pray he won't let trannies ruin his game.

I used to rather enjoy fantasy books. Tragically, that led to reading NK Jemison books after seeing they had good reviews. Whole new fantasy world and still they were only about black women being oppressed.
Afterwards, I moved away from mainstream and Hugo type books to dimestore trash. Ended up reading an Isekai book written by a black man with a black protagonist. You'd figure the black man could get away from racism in a new world but, oh dear, someone else get's isekai'd and he's part of the Neo-Confederacy.
It feels like black people are only capable of thinking about one thing, and the only sure way to get away from it is to read stuff from countries without black people.

The issue with these consulting firms is that they have that Gramsci philosophy where there can be shelter from their perspective. If they get into power somewhere as an editor then they will shovel their perspective down the readers throats when they can, if authority than punish wrong think, and in hiring they will exclude wrong thinkers.

Wouldn't surprise me if somebody posted in some private Discord chat server (Game Jurno Pros, anyone?) about the Farms and that triggered a whole wave of those types to bombard the forums. Somebody earlier pointed out the article that name dropped the site originally had the thread linked, and then the link was removed later, so people are paying attention.
There's also probably a fair bit of crossover with a certain other group surrounding a certain going blind troon that's been trying to destroy the farms and this is exactly the kind of thing they'd co-opt to support that cause.
