Kennel Club Book Club - The Megathread for all furry comic book, graphic novel and literature lunacy.

Genocide Man is furry literature aaaaaand the site appears to be totally broken so those who know, know and everyone else (read as everyone) will be left guessing what I could possibly have meant by this (the entire story arc can be read as being ultimately in service of creating anthros lmao)

This was a pretty heavy batch, and in hindsight, the gif of a bouncy, happy venlil was incredibly ill fitting.

It's a palate clenser.

Maybe if Marcel wasn't a Vegan he wouldn't have been as self absorbed and as such would have paid better attention to Slanek.

Vegans and vegetarians were canonically favored in the exchange program, because of the whole eating meat thing. It's a shame we don't get to see more human/venlil exchange partners.

Sounds like a good idea for a bonus chapter if you ask me!
Most people would agree with you seeing as that is what most nature of predators fanfiction is about, other members of the buddy program, because duh who wouldn't want a pet spacesheep, though from what I heard they tend to be pretty samey and mostly derivative, in the literal sense of the word.

GASP LE HUMANS LE BAD, misunderstanding hijinks ensue, GASP LE HUMANS NO SO LE BAD BAD AFTER ALL?

All the reddit energy the book (mostly) avoids is infused in the fanfictions of it. Not to say there aren't good ones, just saying this is what you should expect.

Is nop2 any good? I gave up after reading the dudes stories after the horrendous ending to nop.

I'm enjoying it so far but there really hasn't been a whole lot of progress yet. My main complaint is that it's currently telling two completely seperate stories that are taking place at the same time in two vastly different parts of the galaxy, so moving the plot forward is a little slow and a little disjointed.

Interesting. I'm not against a story telling two separate stories inside of it. Legend of the galactic heroes did that for almost half the series. I just hope sp15 found out how to pace out a story.

It starts off badly, but mostly because the sheer incompetence of the characters is staggering to the point of breaking immersion. The first contact squad are pathetically unprepared (not like they have generations of Federation training to base their contact procedure on) with one of them being genuinely detrimental to the entire mission, while the other is this 'smooth talker' who folds immediately in negotiations and gets a load of people killed through pure idiocy. Which would've been okay, if he was presented as anything other than a competent worker by SP. However, SP's hyping up of chapter 11 paid off, as it's when things begin to kick into gear.

Legit, Tyler is so fuckin dumb and clearly got to his position through nepotism that I've been referring to him as Hunter Biden when recounting his chapters to chat.

Until today I had 0 clue individual threads had individual chat, I thought sneedchat was just general forum chat. Why does this rather niche thread have its own chat lol? Not complaining, just wondering.
Sneedchat has a handful of chats, and some of them are for different boards. One of them, the AC chat, is named "Kennel Club" and this thread is named after it.

I don't recommend stopping by there's some real degenerates in there and some of them only get a pass for keeping to themselves.

I am gonna join in the current chorus of this thread and state that I also decided to give it a read following other user's reviews.
This book weirds me out. I am halfway through and my brain tells me that parts aren't well written, but then the premise and characters are fun enough that I just don't care.
(Also, holy fuck I gotta agree with the statement made before, the author should avoid writing kids. They are just so fucking bad lmao)

I think a big part of it is that the author at time seems clueless in the early chapters, though that's very much intentional on his part. I can't defend anything Marcel does though, it's like he's a retard magnet that attracts bad ideas, literally a vegan, human Wheatley.
