Crime Mother arrested after concocting drink for her son to give to school bully that sent him to hospital - The drink was non-toxic but did result in the child being hospitalized.

A Texas mother has been arrested after a drink she made for her son's bully sent him to the hospital, according to the Bexar County Sheriff's Office.

Jennifer Lynn Rossi, 45, reportedly mixed lemon juice, vinegar, salt and Gatorade together in a sports bottle on Tuesday and told her son to give it to a classmate who had stolen his drink the day before at Legacy Traditional School - Alamo Ranch, approximately 20 miles northwest of downtown San Antonio, Texas, according to an arrest warrant affidavit obtained by ABC News’ San Antonio affiliate KSAT.

“Upon arriving to the school, deputies learned that the sick child was given a drink by a classmate during P.E. class,” Bexar County Sheriff’s Office said in their statement regarding the incident.

Shortly after the child consumed the drink, he reportedly began experiencing nausea and a headache and was taken to a hospital, sheriff officials say.

“Although, the contents of the drink were non-toxic, the incident resulted in a child being hospitalized,” Bexar County Sheriff’s Office said in their statement. “Hospital staff informed the investigator that the child victim required additional medical monitoring and would eventually be discharged from the hospital.”

Through the course of the investigation, it was learned that the mother of the student who provided the drink “intentionally mixed the contents of the drink to allegedly prevent her son's drink from being stolen at school by other students,” officials said.

Rossi was arrested and booked into jail where she was charged with injury to a child causing bodily injury.

The investigation into the incident is currently ongoing.

The bully must be a retard. Why the fuck else would he fall for the oldest trick in the book, especially from a kid he'd bullied just the day before?

That little cunt deserves more than just a tummy ache, and the bullying victim's mom deserves a medal.

Y’all call this mom “based” but I just don’t fucking see it. Mama’s boy comes home and says “I’ve been bullied! The Bully stole my juice box!”. “Based Mama” doesn’t say “Stand up for yourself! Don’t give in! Next time the bully demands your drink you refuse to give it to him! If he throws a punch then you throw one back and win or lose you made it known that you won’t just lie down for anyone that’s bullying you!” No, what this “Based Mama” says is “Instead of you learning to be a man and handle your business, we’re going to figure out a passive-aggressive way to teach the bully a lesson without you actually having to stand up to him. I know! We’ll slip him a Mickey!”

That’s not “based”, it’s cowardly. The lesson to teach your kids isn’t “Try to get even with bullies behind their backs after the fact using trickery”. The lesson needs to be that “If you’re bullied then you stand up to the bully and fight”. Fuck this “based mom” right into the dirt underneath the jail.

I fail to see an issue with this. Sometimes, it's better to not get directly involved, but to work in the shadows.
In any case, she should've taught the kid to make the drink himself.
In this kid’s case? Now everyone at school knows he’s a little coward who can’t handle his business so Mama had to go and spike the Bully’s drink and Mama ends up with a felony conviction on her record and a lengthy term on Probation I’d guess, plus maybe a LOLsuit from the Bully’s parents if she’s got assets worth the trouble of going after.

In this case it would have been oh so much better if Mama had told Jr to go back to school and stand his ground the next time the Bully tried to take his drink. Hell, get the kid some boxing lessons if he needs to learn how to handle himself and gain some confidence. Instead, they chose the “work in the shadows” route, and just look at how they ended up.

Psychological wounds take longer to heal. Hopefully, the bully learns the lesson and thinks twice before taking what isn't his.
To Hell with the Bully. Bullies always end up running into someone they can’t bully and the day that happens that’s their lesson learned. The one who really needed the lesson was the kid being bullied. Let’s say Mama was successful here and didn’t land herself in jail. Is she going to be around for this kid’s whole life to spike the drink of anyone who crosses her special little guy? So when’s Jr supposed to learn the lesson that a man has to handle his business? 10 years old in 4th grade gym is as good a time as any. If not then, when? Later in life when the stakes are higher and Mama ain’t around? Or maybe he never learns it and he’s a doormat all his life? Mama failed her boy here. Simple as.

The bully didn't steal the mixed drink, the bullied kid gave it to him.
That makes the would-be poisoners look a bit less sympathetic.
It'd been better if she'd made the mixture and just told her kid not to drink it, on the chance it would get stolen and fun would ensue.

Why not fight the bully instead?
Everyone knows that if you hit a bully, YOU are the one that gets in trouble no matter what. Duh.

Salt can kill, especially kids. Look up Garnett Spears.
Spears was tiny, five, and post Nissen fundoplication was physically unable to vomit.

Generally please don't poison people, but someone who could vomit and who didn't have a G-tube would not have been so easy to kill with an enteric sodium solution.

So what? What’s a weeks detention/suspension compared to one’s self-respect. If the Principal called me and told me that one of my kids got detention or suspension for fighting back I’d take that kid out to the restaurant of their choice for dinner that night. Hell, I might even throw in the vidja game of their choice from GameStop

So in other words, the concoction boys at summer camp drink on dares.

Otherwise, it wouldn't surprise me if the kid cried about it to mom, who decided to be overkill and take it the authorities.

Becoming a giant pussy and running to the authorities, claiming you were nearly murdered when so much as a limp-wristed slap comes your way, when your target fights back in any way whatsoever is a core bullying tactic. Bullying relies first and foremost on finding a target who fears the social consequences of tattling and the disciplinary consequences of fighting back.

There's no way this kid drank a pint of that mix. Guarantee that he got a mouthful, screwed up is face, clutched his stomach, and collapsed, bawling and carrying on until a teacher noticed.

Just like this one did.

Kid knew enough to go to someone wiser for a solution and the mom, instead of being an out of touch parent and contact the school, who'd do nothing if at all, actually helped her kid fight back.

Bully got what he deserved. The mom is based.

So can drinking water to excess.

Looking up the Spears case, it was a 5 y/o boy killed by a crazed Munchie mom putting lethal doses of salt through a feeding tube.

I'm a little surprised how easy it is to die from oral sodium intake.

But there's a big difference between giving someone a salt-laced drink and running electrolytes via pipe directly into their GI tract.

Shortly after the child consumed the drink, he reportedly began experiencing nausea and a headache and was taken to a hospital, sheriff officials say.

First off, what kind of elementary school sends a kid directly to the ER because they complained of a sore tummy and a headache after taking a swig of fluid? Unless the bullied kid let it slip immediately that the drink was spiked & everyone flipped out?

Secondly, the Sheriff's Office is playing fast&loose with the concept of "hospitalized".

To me "hospitalized" entails being admitted to the ward for an overnight stay, not just a precautionary Karen visit.

"Additional medical monitoring" for a kid that felt nauseous after drinking vinegar/lemon juice sounds like either a department trying to run up a bill or an attending ER doc or pediatrician who is dithering.
