Russian Special Military Operation in the Ukraine - Mark IV: The Partitioning of Discussion

is it hypothetically possible that the reason Russia's Navy appears neglected and mismanaged because it focuses on submarines with ships being an afterthought, possibly with a classified number of Russian submarines that were manufactured in secret?
There are three powers in a military. Land, sea and air. Which one a nations focus more on is a byproduct of it's geography. Russia's vast size requires it to focus far more on land power than any of the other two.

Interesting…

I don’t really see what Macron is trying to gain here.

Whatever battalion or two he sends, are just going to get buttfucked and sent home in coffins.

He really thinks the Russian army is going to stop just because some French faggot goes: “HON! HON! HON! In the name of Le President Macron… Ne cest pas!”

And it’s not even a NATO thing, because NATO is a defensive alliance. Macron can bitch and moan all he wants to, but there’s no great eagerness to go to war just because some frogs got blown to smithereens on the territory of another nation.

Rural Ukraine vs. Press Gang mobilization. Better than Hollywood.
Did I call it or did I call it? Fucking finally. Just hit the glowniggers on the side of the road. Their camo doesn't work in the snow, you can see them easily. Praise St. Terry!
What I don't understand is why don't we see old men pull a St. Terry, and just plow through these glowing ukroniggers with their ukaz or whatever is the old bulky car there. If I'm 70, and don't have much to lose, that's something I can do for the youth of my community. If enough people do that, also shoot them when they just see them in the streets, recruiting will become a risky job.

In most countries, fighting a successful war is a guarantee of re-election.

Since Macron is French, maybe surrendering is a guarantee for re-election?

Edit: There's precedent. Napoleon lost most of the army trying to take Moscow in 1812. In 1815 they put him back in charge.

Macron couldn’t even get a woman his own age to surrender her vagina to him, yet he tries to go up against the biggest, best armed and most experienced army in Europe?!

Must have gotten brain syphillis from his 80 year old wife or something.

This is Macron's second term, so he is not allowed to run for the third one. Not consecutively.

No one does. I mean given that Russia burned down Moscow so all Napoleon conquered was a pile of ashes, then forced his surrender and abdication, I really think he did catch dementia from his granny-wife, Just like the Germans who seem to want the Victory Flag to fly over the Reichstag again.

That new reichstag is fucking ugly anyways.

In a few decades the krauts will thank the Russians for bombing it to smithereens, so they could rebuild a fourth reichstag that isn’t an eyesore.

As for the Eiffel Tower, I say break the French spirit permanently by demanding it in reperations, and putting it up in Moscow.

Good ol’ Dima, once again spitting facts!

MOSCOW, March 7 – RIA Novosti

In Karelia, a terrorist attack by Ukrainian special services involving a citizen of Belarus was prevented, the Public Relations Center of the Federal Security Service reported. “The FSB of Russia on the territory of the Republic of Karelia prevented the preparation of a terrorist act planned by the Ukrainian special services with the participation of a recruited citizen of the Republic of Belarus born in 1974, who was a member of the nationalist formation “Kastus Kalinovsky Regiment” banned in Belarus and was on the interstate wanted list,” says the press release. release. According to the FSB, an agent of the Ukrainian special services collected and transmitted data on transport infrastructure facilities and executive authorities in the region. The DSP clarified that the criminal, acting on the instructions of his curators, removed weapons and an improvised explosive device from a cache previously equipped for him in order to blow up one of the administrative buildings in the city of Olonets. During the arrest, the attacker opened fire on security officers and was neutralized. Security forces and civilians were not injured. A ready-to-use IED made from the PE-8 plastic explosive (made in the UK), an M-6 electric detonator (made in the USA) and a household timer, as well as a Makarov pistol and ammunition were seized at the scene. A criminal case has been opened regarding preparation for a terrorist attack.

Saw the same story in the “oh so independent” and totally not CIA linked Moscow Times.

They reported it as “Belarusian oppositionist killed by FSB”. Along with some quotes from his son, about how his dad was suuuuper peaceful and wouldn’t hurt a fly.

What he was doing in Karelia with a bunch of explosives and detonators wasn’t brought up.

What an utterly stupid wheel arrangement.
Drunk hohol at work, clearly.

That was not their idea at the time he made them do it like the absolute boss he was. The victorious (then) allies sent him away to the shitty island to basically wither and die, within a year the fucker took his boat and his couple of 100 servants and guards and sailed back. Went town to town coming from basically nothing and made it happen, made the people follow him. Grew an army. Size does not matter must come from that because it ain't got shit to do with you know what where it sure does.
If you are saying France put him back in charge, yes.

As vesperus so aptly pointed out, submarines are often actually better for covert arms dealing than surface ships.

Additionally, the russians literally build missile submarines of a type that doesn't exist in any other country, a dedicated anti ship missile submarine, starting with the oscar class (yasen is a significant engineering improvement of the same concept).
View attachment 5795588
This type of missile submarine is arguably superior to pretty much all of their surface combatants as far as missile salvos go (pretty big salvo, and much more able to achieve surprise), and is far more survivable and maneuverable in high threat environments.

I agree with you on anti piracy, but IMO that is patrol boat up to corvette territory only, even 3000 tons would be rather heavy. I think at best you could argue light air defense is valuable, but that requires the ability to maintain sea superiority which is both I think impossible in the modern environment anyways, and also extremely difficult to do with an already overstretched naval engineering capacity.
That sub is neat, however it is VERY expensive, like all nuclear subs.

In the USA, a new Burke class destroyer, even with the added cost of Flight 3 goodies, is $2.2 billion all up. A Virginia class sub with the Payload Module for VL missile cells is $4.5 billion..... Basically 2:1. The new Constellation class frigate with 32 VLS cells, helicopter hanger and guns is $1 billion.

I'd guess that this Oscar is as much as 2-4 Admiral Gorshkov or Admiral Grigorovich class frigates.

Also, cargo via sub is viable but for small, ultra high value loads. A single Ivan Gren class landing ship could probably deliver as much cargo/arms as 5 cargo subs.

He was obviously making a peaceful pyrotechnic demonstration on a railroad or similar. Possibly with a train on the tracks.

According to Russian investigative journalists in exile, Andrej Soldatov and Irina Borogan, Putin had agreed to a prisoner exchange involving Nawalny hours before his death. This supports my theory that he was disposed of by western intelligence.
Or… He just died? Sure, it’s hardly inconceivable that MI6 somehow got to him in a Russian penal colony. But overall it’s more likely that it was natural causes. He wasn’t exactly a spring chicken.
