That's exactly what happened 10 years ago and been happening ever since. Most gamers don't like this shit but cuck out because they fear getting banned and losing all their games which they paid for but legally don't own anymore, partly because they also cucked out to buying games that only exist as an item on their user account and not a physical copy that they can play indefinitely.

Across all platforms, I think the steady capitulation to digital was probably the most harmful action video game consumers have committed to. Too much brand loyalty and stupidity to understand a bad deal when they saw it to subsequently contest it.

This tells the companies that at worst they'll have to put up with some memes on Xitter and YouTube, but they'll still get their sales, and funding for the next one, but will inch a little closer to the "really bad stuff" next time.

This problem goes beyond just video games.

That's basically been the status quo for a while now:

Diablo 3 always-online for a singleplayer series? They still bought it.

Increasingly more expensive cosmetics DLC? They still pay for it. "At least it's not pay-to-win!"

Pay-to-win game comes out? They still pay and play it.

The only positive thing that has happened in recent years was that crackdown on lootboxes.

I don't know, I managed to whip this up in VEGAS Pro 16 and render it without any black frames. I've spent more time dealing with it's retarded export functions, and I accidentally moved that yellow slider at the very top of the timeline which is what sets what part of the timeline to render. And the interface is hellish to use anyway.

If you need video editing software, just pirate Premiere Pro.
