So I see how that relates to the T&A "all male gamers are perverts" aspect, but where does VAWA come into this? I assume people hating Malenia because she's difficult to fight doesn't constitute misogyny.
Thinking more about how you have to burn Melina alive to burn the Erdtree tbh. (Unless you want the Frenzied Flame ending…)

Or that relentless trope game designers use as a prompt, which is basically “the enemy has killed your wife and kidnapped your daughter. Are you a bad enough dude to go kill those guys who killed your wife?” And there’s no innovation there, lazy, using female characters to develop the stakes for the PC. Just endless rehashes of The Punisher.

Also you can watch Anita’s vids from 2014, they illustrate how the problem looked back then. Basically

I’m glad that games have become less overtly sexist.

So you enjoy one trope being replaced with another and the relentless cycle of redoing the same story over and over still continues? But at least YOU don’t think it’s sexist.

As for the wokeness coming from the top: why do the moids think they are the OG and only market AAA wants to cater to? Why are you boys pissing yourselves because corporate AAA studios might put some content in the game meant to appeal to a player other than yourself? Is it really so hard to comprehend that if a certain game takes idk, ~$5 million to make, that the people at the top (distributors, executive producers, etc.) would want to hedge their bets to try and get the game to appeal to the widest audience possible? Why is this difficult for you to understand, AP?

What strikes me here is the selfishness. Like in OG Gamergate, you spuds think that you are the OG, only and forever market for games. I'm sorry guys, but that's not true.
I speak as a minority - the best inclusion and diversity came at a time when there weren't quotas to fill or people to please. I don't like it when it's forced from a small group of people who are hilariously out of touch with reality and are too Tumblr-brained to make meaningful contributions to media. The issue is SBI and similar bodies make the same choices over and over again and their "inclusion" initiatives are only for some minorities. There's a reason why a significant number of diasporas get excluded from diversity initiatives. Even the indigenous peoples that so many champion for have next to zero representation in the video game sphere and when they are represented it's someone who has no business writing and speaking for them.

SBI is hypocritical and like Gamergate all of the real issues that people have with these initiatives will be shelved as "Gamergate discourse" instead of listening to the actual voices of minorities and potential consumers.

I'll take that as a joke 'cause that's dumb. Besides, you just do the gold needle sidequest and you can keep her from being burned alive and pursue a non-Frenzy ending.

How exactly does this relate to violence against women? I mean, sure the bad guys in this scenario are being violent towards women but... they're the bad guys. Bad guys do bad guy things. Being violent towards women is bad.
Would it be any better if the genders were swapped? "The enemy has killed your husband and kidnapped your son. Are you a bad enough dudette to go kill those guys who killed your husband?"
That's the same prompt with some words switched around. Is it better? Is it really innovative to tell the same story with the genders swapped? It might've been in the 50s, but we've come a long way from unironic "WOMEN, KNOW YOUR LIMITS" moments.

Nobody wanted to burn Melina....Melina does this of her own volition. Melina doesn't even have to seek you out. In fact you can DECLINE her offer. Melina's choice to burn the Erdtree is part of her story, which at this moment is still unknown. Perhaps the DLC will make more sense of it but for one reason or another, she hates the Erdtree. You as the gamer don't want to see Melina burn and she does it against your will as the player. She essentially tricks you, not telling you her true goal until you're already in the capital. That's what Fromsoft was going for.

I got bounced from a writers group once for having the temerity to reply to one of the admins asking "How can we better support minorities?" then dropping 4 pages of very, very, excruciatingly white upper class suggestions with "Why not ask them instead of guessing?"

I'm from central Asia and we've got three flavors of portrayal: people who think Borat was true and honest, post-Soviet wasteland (fair, but cmon we hate it too), or not-quite Mongols.

Your reading comprehension needs work…
Yeah I think games in general have become a bit more inclusive in the last 10 years.
If Fareal's recollection of the timeline is correct is goes something like this: Highlights will be in yellow.
Knock it off moid this is obnoxious
Well I'm afraid that just makes the situation even sadder, and pettier. A woman's career is totally tanked and you didn't even stay with the dude. :stress:
It was an upgrade.

“How about to make good stories we ask the people what they like”
“Out of my office bigot, I know what’s best in a narrative direction. Get a woman and make her black and queer”

Interspersed with the hilarious attacks and insults directed at Stan, we have rehashing of the "if you don't like something why do you care, why don't you just turn off the music, channel, whatever" copout that has misguided so many for so very long.

I think a better question is "Why is it so threatening to these apes if someone makes a game for an audience that isn't them?" Seriously, why do they care? I don't care when Rammstein releases a new album, because I don't listen to that band. If I buy a book and it's too woke for me, I stop reading it and maybe bomb it on Goodreads. If I really hate it I might return it. But I don't see me reading a book with parts I did not like as evidence of a conspiracy to attack my "social capital".

How hard is it to not play a game you don't like?

So don't buy lemon games.
These things I for example may not like form a culture milieu, in which the sum is greater than the individual parts. Most people are swayed by what is popular simply because it is popular or pervasive, and when a critical mass of people go for garbage it is alienating. That vulgar rap music became pervasive among my peers did affect me despite whatever choices I make, and if one makes a choice not like something, it is still pervasive in the culture and thus will affect the individual profoundly.

Of course, this is not similar to a flavor of ice cream one may not like, these things are promoting ideas in the culture, and well-endowed, heavy hitting institutions are backing this in a way that most individuals cannot.
As far as not playing a game someone does not like, there is a lost opportunity for each woke game, and there is also the problem that this sort of thing has become pervasive. Crusader Kings had gay marriages inserted in a game about dynasties in Medieval Europe, and Paradox banned a lot of people and changed their terms of service of their forum partly in response to that and other legitimate criticisms of how Paradox has done thing for many years now. A medieval castle franchise (I thought it was stronghold but it's not and I cannot remember the game) was revived, but not set in Medieval Europe but Asia. It is not as the game developer is going to make two such games.

That shit was filmed in a poverty stricken village in my country, Romania, not Kazakhstan or other AC country. And that fucking greedy Jew paid them almost nothing, and lied about how the footage will be used, so I think they sued him, and I assume lost, cause it's not like some disadvantaged gypsy village in Romania can match the Hollywood Jewish finance industry.
Moral of the story here is that these progressive fucks will mercilessly exploit others that are actually in a far worse shape and infinitely more marginalized without a care in the world, AND they will dare lecture us after that.
May their souls eternally rot in Hell.

Not really, but when you guys simp this hard for Bayonetta and Quiet and idk, 2nd phase Malenia or whatever, or try to start a nerd war because the devs patched a little more costume onto their favorite vidya waifu's cleavage and ass, I have my doubts.
Bayonetta is hot and I WOULD have sex with her.

Yep, it was in the largest gypsy slum in Romania. They were told it was going to be a documentary, they filmed lots of stuff with interviews that never saw the light of day because it was all bullshit. I tell people about it every time someone says something because even if I'm not Kazakh I'm close enough that ignorant people tend to ask about it. I'm not mad at the people for not knowing, I'm mad at Hollywood for how mainstream that shit went.

That's where you're wrong, and I'm gonna be real with you and with everyone in this thread. I don't think games have changed all that much in the past decade. Superficially, technically, and economically, yes, but in terms of actual innovation or storytelling, not really. That's part of why I saw the inclusivity nonsense as bullshit even all the way back in 2014, because games have been inclusive for much longer than you might believe, and you have retards patting themselves on the backs for shattering the glass ceiling when it was already broken for them.

Oh yeah at 1 hr 33 , Marge is discussed by Jersh
