That's part of why I saw the inclusivity nonsense as bullshit even all the way back in 2014, because games have been inclusive for much longer than you might believe, and you have retards patting themselves on the backs for shattering the glass ceiling when it was already broken for them.

As I stated clearly before, many gamers (who do not fit your assumption of "cis, het, white, male") do not care about diversity as long as diversity means more than skin color and sexual orientation. If your character (or your actual) personality is solely wrapped around what you look like or who you like to make love to, you are not a very deep or interesting person to know. And as such, this vapidness proliferates the media which we consume at all levels. That's what's frustrating. Give us characters that are more complex than just skin tone, genitals and kinks.

This leads me to another point: trauma. People to the right and the left avoid this topic but it is necessary to address. Manufactured trauma, such as perceived slights of mansplaining, manspreading, self-diagnosed mental illnesses for TikTok clout, schoolyard bullying and so forth is not trauma in the slightest. Actual trauma; those who have suffered child sexual abuse, experienced extreme assault or have seen the absolute horrors of war and have come home psychologically and physically broken but then take steps to address that pain - that's true heroism.

Give me a woman or a man who undergoes horrific transformation, emerging from a chrysalis of nightmarish pain to rise and slay their demons so I can be inspired to slay my own. That's what makes players care. Real relationships, real stories, real feelings; these things can be told in a fantasy setting and be done well.

If the Left truly cared about "diversity", they wouldn't exclude the very people they are trying to demonize for profit.

I’m glad that games have become less overtly sexist.

Except diminishing all women potraying them all as the same unattractive unlikeable trope actually is sexist. We can't have games with different kinds of women in them anymore, literally all of them are just ugly, unfashionable, unlikeable spoiled twittard types. Beautiful or even just feminine female characters aren't allowed to exist because people like these Sweet Baby writers think that being feminine or attractive means you're bad, weak, and stupid. Any time a game is made to be more "gender inclusive" all the developers do is take away all the feminine traits, clothes, and character options away from female players. This isn't done to male characters, Cloud stays buff and shows his body off while Tifa gets a breast reduction and has to cover up. And it's not just random games made by trannies, you can't even choose your own clothing in big games like Pokémon anymore. It's a standard ugly genderless (MALE) outfit that you can change the colors on when in the last four or five games I was able to grind for money to buy different clothing and accessories to mix and match. Even the Harvest Moon (Story of Seasons now) remakes have mandatory "gender neutral" clothes and leaves the main character as a palette swapped version of the male body 15 years later. Companies like this because they're lazy and cheap and it staves off controversy. The message it sends is that being feminine or girly is bad, games are for men and ugly boyish women only, and female characters are just man-lite. Fake feminist pick mes are always the most sexist. Games today make me feel just as shitty about being female as all my stupid nerd dude friends did in elementary when I did anything girly or called anything cute, or picked the only pretty or female character. Maybe people who don't like video games shouldn't make them or talk about them. I don't try to tell you how to pretend to be a trad wife (makeup helps), so stay in your lane. I'm gonna go play Barbie Pet Detective.

Interspersed with the hilarious attacks and insults directed at Stan, we have rehashing of the "if you don't like something why do you care, why don't you just turn off the music, channel, whatever" copout that has misguided so many for so very long.

These things I for example may not like form a culture milieu, in which the sum is greater than the individual parts. Most people are swayed by what is popular simply because it is popular or pervasive, and when a critical mass of people go for garbage it is alienating. That vulgar rap music became pervasive among my peers did affect me despite whatever choices I make, and if one makes a choice not like something, it is still pervasive in the culture and thus will affect the individual profoundly.

Of course, this is not similar to a flavor of ice cream one may not like, these things are promoting ideas in the culture, and well-endowed, heavy hitting institutions are backing this in a way that most individuals cannot.
As far as not playing a game someone does not like, there is a lost opportunity for each woke game, and there is also the problem that this sort of thing has become pervasive. Crusader Kings had gay marriages inserted in a game about dynasties in Medieval Europe, and Paradox banned a lot of people and changed their terms of service of their forum partly in response to that and other legitimate criticisms of how Paradox has done thing for many years now. A medieval castle franchise (I thought it was stronghold but it's not and I cannot remember the game) was revived, but not set in Medieval Europe but Asia. It is not as the game developer is going to make two such games.

Voting with your wallet is perfectly fine advice, no matter how many idiots might agree.

But I DON'T want to hear it from the people who are tripping over themselves to infiltrate an industry they don't like that makes games they don't play based on media they don't enjoy.

They're exactly the same people who should take their own advice and stay far far away.

I'd even say "go make your own," but we know how that goes. They're incapable of making anything new, so they just insert themselves into existing franchises, make them worse, and then cry when investors go "well I guess nobody likes superheroes/FPS games/RPG's/etc. anymore."
