'No Stupid Questions' (NSQ) Internet & Technology Edition

So my previous phone was the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra. Good phone, probably could have felt onto it longer I had one physical hinderance and hoping someone who knows cellphones could have a good answer.

Anyway the back camera got messed up, the photo would be blurry as hell. This pissed me off and then one day I just whacked the side of the phone, low and behold by whacking the side of the phone with a light Karate Chop the camera would then work as intended with a clear image coming up. Everytime I wanted to take a picture with the phone I needed to hit it. This totally eludes me how could that fix my phone's camera from being messed up? It's a damn thing cellphone not some 1970s Polaroid.

The focus mechanism on a phone camera is a voice coil actuator, which is like a tiny motor that focuses by moving lenses closer or further apart. Possible this was sticking, and briefly freeing it allows it to focus. After it's used, it sticks again.

I was not expecting an answer especially so fast. Thank you man.

How does Twitter determine what's considered "For you" under "Trending"? I rarely use it and there were some weird results of things I didn't engage with at all, even tangentially.

"For you" is probably the tweets/hashtags you're scrolling away or interacting with, and "trending" is the amount of hashtags beings tweeted in a short amount of time, sometimes in your area or globally on twitter. usually like a top 10 list.

bumping my question because i haven't got an answer yet
Update in case anyone heccing cares or wonders, i made a new profile since i couldnt reset my settings, turns out if i just had done the setup-wizard when i opened OBS everything would have been fine. so far no connection drops or OBS crashings.

how to make a new profile:

This is fucking useless to me but i fucked around with it before resetting everything, maybe this will help you out if you need it idk:

I am planning on purchasing a "New" phone to replace my Samsung S8. I wish I didnt have to, but I finally dropped the thing a couple of months back and shattered two corners of the screen, and the battery is deteriorating rapidly, to the point that a single charge does not last for a whole day out. I had this thing since the s8 released, and hadnt felt a need to upgrade.

I was thinking of getting an "excellent" quality Pixel 6 from Backmarket. They go for ~£200. How is the Pixel six? It seemed like a reasonable pricepoint for a semi-new flagship(?) phone.

Pixel 6 was a good phone. Mine lasted 3 years before battery was weak and charging port didn't work so I had to wireless charge only. I have a 7 Pro and Samsung Galaxy S20 and I like the Pixels over the Samsung because the Android has less bloat on it and the UI looks better.

I know someone else who bought a used 6 and put Graphene OS on it recently and they are happy with it.

Is the Galaxy A54 any good? I've had an A12 for nearly 3 years now and it's starting to really chug on me (15 seconds to open Waze, 5 seconds after pressing the call button, 3-5 second delay after clicking the screen on/off button). I really don't want to fork out more than $400 on a new phone.

Could anyone recommend a call volume boosting app for Android that actually fucking works on Android 14 without root? Volume Booster GOODEV used to do just that until Android 11.
My grandma speaks really quietly when we're talking on the phone and I end up missing half of what she says. I want to briefly boost call volume to something like 140% or even more, even if it ends up being low quality I don't fucking care, I'd rather hear distorted sound than nothing at all.

Galaxy A series are budget phones, one grade above burner phone scrap. If you are dead set on Samsung, get something like M34 (for around $250).

also another thing that helps alot, if you ever decide to stream, always open up OBS in admin mode so it prioritizes it on the top, so less crashes and reconnectings will happen.
after getting frequent crashes, turns out i'm getting the half of uploadrate that i actually paid for, and my router had no ipv4. gotta love ISPs. gave them a call and i hope shit gets fixed for good now.

wear headphones? if shes too quiet then just tell her to text you.
I don't think you know how quiet elderly people can be. I've obviously already tried headphones, to no effect. Short of buying a set that has a built in volume booster, I'm out of options hardware wise (within reasonable bounds, I could pair my phone to a home cinema setup, but that would be overkill).

She can't text me because she's 85, almost senile and can barely use one of those phones for old people.

Have you tried a Bluetooth speaker that has a voice call feature? When I use my hands free set up in my truck I can make my phone calls unbearably loud and I used to have an outdoor speaker that could do calls and it was obnoxiously loud if you took them on it.
I have a Jabra Speak 510 somewhere, I may try it but last time I used it the acoustics fucked with the other end and I'd prefer a software solution so I don't have to lug it with me.

I'm going to build a computer from Newegg, but I'm going to install Windows 10 LSTC on it. There's no weird bullshit that will prevent me from doing that, is there?

the enterprise iot LSTC version is for network ssh stuff, there's no reason to use it as your daily OS. also the monitor only goes up to 1024 x 768 so yeah. better switch to normal windows 10 or jump straight to linux if you can.

Prevent, no, but you need to make sure that you're not using any hardware or software that Windows in <whatever year the LTSC was frozen at> was incapable of supporting. I made up a post about it in this thread:
Latest-generation Intel CPUs are one of the biggest LTSC stumbling blocks - make a note of this if you're building a new computer.

There's a lot of FUD about LTSC - ignore anyone who says "You have to be running a full corporate environment with your own Active Directory server and domain controller, deploy software only via SSCD, and so on". But it's not a magic bullet either, you do have to examine your plans for hardware and software and see if LTSC will match with that.

1. What other 4chan alternatives are there besides 8chan, that aren't dead?
2. How do you ban-evade on 4chan, the moderation is retarded?
If there's a specific thread for these questions please point me in that direction
