Oh, it's worse than that. He's gained detractors he otherwise wouldn't have through his assistance to notoriously disgusting "anti-anti-SJWs" like Dick and Vito. I have seen EVS mentioned negatively in threads he wouldn't otherwise have been mentioned in two years ago. As far as this site is concerned, the stupidity that is CG has now broken out of this containment area as it thrashes around in its death throes.
Two years ago, this thread had a pretty mixed opinion of EVS, and the rest of the site was largely oblivious to him. Now, in the year of our Lord, 2024, a lot more people on the site know of him and don't like what they see. Null even had a MATI segment recently. He owes that to siding with Dax in a campaign to ruin some black guy who puts out a comic Dax and his pet pedo don't like.
I don't think anybody here is any mood to shit on Eric July just because he had the audacity to do a more competent job than EVS. July is far from perfect, but he has as much right to access the market as EVS has, and to succeed and fail on his own merits. If EVS doesn't like the way he's no longer top dog, he needs to do better.
In some cases they are not even close to being completed. CG takes your money, and you'll get your book whenever they feel like it.
July has thus far proven to be a serious threat to the continued viability of that paradigm. The game has changed. July has changed it. It's no longer credible to claim it takes four years to make a comic book, and that timely fulfilment is a Herculean task. ESPECIALLY if anybody is gonna then turn around and claim July is some dumb nigger.
Rather than adapt to the change, Ethan has chosen to throw a tantrum. His choice, but don't expect me to have any sympathy. He got too complacent.

He has to qualify for that Five Flags race and its not broadcast anywhere I know of.
Its a fast half mile track with high banked turns and a very unforgiving surface that wears out tires fast. Taking that race is not a smart move. He could easily crash out.

it won't because ComicsGate is a product with a clear owner, it was always weird to me the dogmatic order of "if you want o make your product and you want support from us you need to brand it everywhere as ComicsGate", at the beggining not a lot of people noticed because they were all rallying behind the banner of a new industry against the big "woke" companies, but later on people realized the weird obsession of EVS to be "the capo of CG"
you can hate Eric July, you can think his comic is mid or bad, but he did exactly what CG was supposed to be: an effort to start a comic industry independent of Marvel or DC or gigantic corpos, and he is now hiring known artists, writers, etc. and for some reason EVS and comicsgate are going against him, doing multiple hour streams crying over it, siding with drama mongers and pedophiles, instead of just going to their desks and make comics.
