The lack of chemistry was one thing that it was blatant to see when Overwatch was the big game being played, and every video of Funhaus against The Creatures or ScrewAttack were painful to watch.
When it was announced that the Creatures were going to be joining in with the likes of AH and Funhaus, I remember being so excited for that. They even had a really good video to break the news by having each group in an IRL battle royale, which I'll link below.

But you are 100% correct in saying there was definitely a lack of chemistry when it came to the actual collab videos. I was a huge fan of the Creatures, and Cowchop when that split happened, but when they made that GTA video with AH it was soo clunky. Alot of their jokes were falling flat and they were talking over each other. Same went for the Creatures and Funhaus CSGO collab. All in all it was great idea in concept but ultimately failed in execution.

When I saw Criken on Open Haus, I thought he was going to be part of the Let's Play family, but then I didn't hear anything on it. What's the story behind it?
Exactly what I said. They were told by RT that the name Sideshow was trademarked by RT, or at least they were told it wasn't trademarked yet. Then they went ahead making merch and setting up the channel only to get a cease and desist from the owners of the trademark for Sideshow.

This happened around the same time Criken, tomatogaming and Bedbananna all showed up for RTX only to find that RT had done exactly dick all to market them to their audience (which apparently had little crossover with their own audience) and no one there seemed to know who they were.

I can imagine they were all quite Pissed off about this and simply said "fuck it" and walked away.

Each channel had their own version of that Anchorman fight. Funhaus' was the funniest IMO because it had AH admitting how their audience is nothing but children.

Fucking HOW? That shit looked like something I was able to make in 2006 on my shitty Windows Vista computer.
For every dollar spent on tangibles, $9,999 probably gets spent on SBI-tier "consulting" and running things past the "trust and safety" department, with catered lunches all around at not-used-for-any-other-purpose meeting rooms that cost $20,000 a month in rent and another $15,000 to decorate (and hire the attendant consultants)

The same kind of bloat that infests every other entertainment outlet in this country and encourages cargo cult behaviors where large portions of the company exist only to project the image of importance.

People who shouldn't be in charge were put in charge. It's not that shocking when you think about it. The people at RT just assumed the next video that came out would be the video that would bring in millions of dollars and cement their status as the kings and queens of internet content creation.

I stopped watching RT when they all threw a fit and sperged out about Ryan having sex with legal age fans even though some of them fucked fans as well, The only thing Ryan did wrong was commit adultery. Ryan was my favorite member of RT and the only reason I even continued watching them as the quality declined and now I can't even watch him stream.

I'm glad they died; they deserved it for ruining my entertainment.

I think the Ryan shit was overblown, but the disturbing part was less the sex itself and more the systematic way he concealed it for years and years, all while playing up the "I'm a lovable family man, isn't it funny how silly it is when I joke about being a psychopathic sex fiend hahahahaha?" thing.

That, plus his behavior toward his various DM pets in the wake of the reveal, revealed him to be a genuine sociopath. A normal liar & pervert would not have been able to pull it off so convincingly and for so long, with so many people. I'm still shocked when I think about how manipulative he proved to be in the end. I don't really think you can dismiss all of that as RT "sperging out about Ryan having sex with legal age fans." That was just the start.

There’s an alternate reality where these guys realized that they were in way over their heads and hired experienced and educated leaders and moved into “creative” positions. I’m not talking about hiring some faggot obsessed with reaching the broadest audience possible but someone that recognizes that a niche audience has less direct competition.

I fully recognize I’m a fucking moron who has no clue what he’s talking about, but if RT had figured that out about themselves a decade ago they wouldn’t have just made nearly 200 unhirable retards unemployed.

Well, you'd think that after seeing hundreds of examples before them of both what to do and what  not to do, the idiots in charge at Rooster Teeth would at least make some sort of attempt to fortify their standing and prepare for the long term viability of the business. But no, like so many others before them, they kept living the fantasy, thinking that the DEI gibs, cheap money, and easy rewards for little work was going to go on forever. But now that the purse strings have been tightened, Daddy Warner is stepping in to cut out the unnecessary expenses, and the chickens are coming home to roost (pun intended?). Even for all the endless pronouncements, browbeating and self ass-patting that these corporations do about the poor nig-nogs, faggots, and troons, when it boils down to it, these are the first things that go when money gets tight and your business is on the line. Sure it costs them little if nothing to blast their corporate diarrhea for every token holiday, but I'm sure that I'm not the only one who noticed a sharp drop in "Black History Month" grandstanding compared to years past. It'll be interesting to see what happens during the annual AIDS Marathon Pride month this year, both due to corporate financial cutbacks, and public fatigue. Will they continue to go all-in on it, profits and public perception be damned, or will they reveal the truth, that they're only virtue-signaling for profit?

Also, the downfall of Rooster Teeth, like others, just shows that they never really learned how to properly run a business despite some of them being there from the beginning, or very close to it. Granted, it was just a group of young guys hanging out doing stupid and funny shit, and they probably never imagined that it would get as big as it was at one time, but it still seems surprising that nobody stepped up and said "Hey guys, we probably should get someone who knows what they're doing to step in and help with things?" Maybe Joel tried to, but it seems they ran him off due to personal conflicts. It's one thing to get multiple rounds of VC financing or go through a couple of owners before you find your footing as a sustainable venture, Amazon was notably unprofitable for years and now look at them. But if your company valuation and lifeline solely subsists on corporate welfare, VC financing, DEI handouts, etc, and you can't actually produce anything of substance, even after years, sometimes decades of "work"? Then maybe it's just not destined to be a viable business venture. (pReddit comes to mind here).

And while I'm sperging on the topic. I know that Facebook, sorry, "META"🙄, had an IPO and is, on paper at least, a profitable company, but aside from actual tech giants with infrastructure like Google, and legacy giants like Apple, Microsoft, etc, I'm still not convinced that the whole "dot com/tech bubble" isn't going to burst (again) and the whole damn thing will come crashing down like a house of cards. Everybody depends on everybody else for money, and it all boils down to AD REVENUE. META, and all other social media companies, scrapes your info and sells it to 3rd parties so they can advertise to you, while they themselves advertise to you. On-line only e-zines are filled with ads, or paywalled, and  still filled with ads, while placing cookies in your browser cache that they use to track you to sell to 3rd parties. Games that you pay for now require an online connection, many of them also require subscriptions, and have in-game ads, and they sell your information as well. Even your goddamn vehicle is tracking you and selling your information to 3rd parties for advertising purposes now. Without the basic ad revenue stream the entire thing collapses, because these companies have no actual sustainable business plan.

Of course not. They'll be the vigilant watchers over a community of literally zero participants.

pReddit in a nutshell. Tranny-jannies on a power trip when their "job" literally has no functional use anymore. It would be like a lone fiscal manager in some dusty office somewhere who's entire career has been based on managing the day-to-day fluctuations of the Deutschemark, and since the adoption of the Euro, you're left flittering around with no purpose, but you refuse to give up or retire. Because your whole identity and sense of self-worth is wrapped up in that One Thing™️.

I can't quite put my finger on why, but I kinda want to kick the chair out from beneath the individual who typed this paragraph. its like when a cat gets the urge to swat at the face of a person. it doesn't know why, it just knows that it senses a presence of weakness and must Strike towards it. Maybe it's the endemic insincerity that radiates from this predictable and heartless farewell clearly written by the absolute grayest of NPCs, maybe it's just seeing the word "Vtubers" being used without contempt.
I think I have it figured out. All of these grandiose pronouncements and lamentations over a shuttering business that in the grand scheme of things, amounted to fuck-all in the real world. It's a literally-who whining about a literally-who company. You see it with all of these "farewell" announcements from the usual suspects every time one of these places fail, and they're  all equally predictable and they  all use the same type of bland, bordering-on-newspeak type of of language. For fucks sake, the one "official" release actually said "y'all" un-ironically TWICE in the opening goddamn paragraph! These people have an overinflated sense of self-importance and what their standing is in the grand scheme of things. They act as if Vice Jezebel Buzzfeed Gawker The Messenger Rooster Teeth shutting down is on the same level as if something like GE or Amazon were to shut its doors.

Burn in Hell, RT. I don't know if it's been posted yet, but as of now Warner Bros. Discovery has a $44.5 billion dollar debt that only went down because of Zaslav (the recent DC movies didn't make shit). This makes me wonder if AEW, DC Comics, NRS, and WB Games are next (I hope all of them get chopped because fuck Tony Khan and Ed Boon). AEW isn't going to get a good deal from Zaslav, and he sure as fuck isn't going to throw more money at Ed Boon and NRS (It just had a "big tournament" in Brazil...that only had 69 people enter for 10k. Nobody wants to play Woke Kombat). Suicide Squad has to be hurting WBD because of the refunds, and Multiversus was a flop. Is Max even doing well?
The DC movies are shit, for sure, but theres still value in the IP, if they can get rid of the Current Year ™️ bullshit. Hell, Batman and Superman revenue alone could probably sustain the whole DC endeavor as long as they quit shoveling money into a fire with the capeshit movies and dont alienate everyone with their agenda-driven wokescold comics.

AEW will be fine, as long as Tony Khan still has his daddys checkbook to play with. Seriously, that family is worth north of $20 billion, they own multiple professional sports teams, as well as other media ventures. They could buy and build their own media network if they wanted.
This is what happens when you let women work in your busbusiness
Women, or "women"? 🤔

I just remember Michael talking about how Ryan would always take an extra day at whatever con city they were in before joining the rest of the crew back in Texas, and him slowly recognizing what that extra day was for.

I do have to wonder though. Was he always the creepy manipulative pervert, or was he just encouraged by all the "Ryan is our resident psychopath/daddy" shit that AH and the Fandom laid on him and he just embraced it?
