Diseased #Comicsgate - The Culture Wars Hit The Funny Books!

Ethan on the other hand claimed the 90s was the height of comics and the speculators bubble wasn't a bad thing. So you better buy that variant and hope Ethan doesn't dump the overprint he did on ebay before you can cash out.

This is the dumb part about a lot of people buying the indie comics. And how Eric supposedly ruined the collectors market on his. Anecdotal, but a lot seem to only care about the future price. For one, the indie comics that EVS and others are selling might be worth something someday in the future. But the main thing inflating their price right now with them is based on their ecelebrity status of whatever person making the comic at the time. And them taking so long to get the comic out. With the latter, it might actually be cheaper to just wait until it hits eBay and pay a little more. Plus, at least at that point you're guaranteed to get something.

And in Erics case...they may be worth something someday as well. But you have what are basically mass-produced comics and posters. People buying these things up to hopefully sell for a lot more later is cute.

It’s a trailer, you fat pedo.

Have you not seen video games with CGI trailers that aren’t reflective of the actual product?

I mean, you delayed Super Killer #1 from December 2023 to February 2024 as a “realistic date” and you’re not even close to done with it.

I wouldn't be surprised if they already have this filmed. Or a good chunk at least. And the intro is based off of snippets. The benchmark for a future film seems awfully low. But who knows. Seeing the hype behind this, I figured this would do at least $1.5-$2 million though.

Because he has to buy his antique automobiles somehow!
He inherited those cars from his father-in-law and I suspect those tweets about them was his attempt to gin up some buying interest.

Not as long as EVS has plenty of them for sale on eBay. He does.

Vito the all-knowing.
Well, I mean, he's gotta say something, right? Yaira is selling well, and that simply will not do.

Finish his comic book, you say? ACK ACK ACK! That is not the CG way.

Vito creates baseless speculation about July's motives/goals and claims he'll go bankrupt based on said speculation and then defends himself with the always sure fire "I do what I want" defense. Weak shit.
He's like Dick's Doomcock.

The rage this will create will be entertaining.

Hasn't that been Dick and Vito's stated goal for a few years now?
Correct. They want to be in Hollywood more than anything. I dunno if Superkiller factors into that anywhere, but they very definitely want The Biggest Problem to go mainstream and have pitched the idea a few places (to seemingly no result).

Guys like Vito and Rickets are part of the new Brat Pack of middle-aged, teenage-brained retards.

Make quality comic books.

He should leave that to other people and run the business, since he obviously is capable, but just like EVS, EJ has quite an ego.
That is why both have to create the story for their comics and why both create comic books with worse stories than the big two.
I agree. EJ would be smarter to simply act as a publisher. Like you said, that was the fatal flaw of Cyberfrog, the fact that EVS insisted on writing even though he's clearly got little writing talent. (That and the fact that he's lost all interest in creating and publishing.)

But in EJ's case, I think he's sincerely interested in promoting and publishing other people with talent, and the fact that he's sinking significant capital into his enterprises would suggest he's also serious about building his business. I don't care about anything he has to offer now, but I'm hoping in the future he'll start publishing books I might be interested in.

I don't think he, or anybody, has anything on July on the same level as the shit Dick, Vito, Rekieta et al have been doing, and I think he knows it.

Well, alrighty then.

Honestly Motts, if your argument here is he's not doing things the "Comicsgate way," you'll get no argument from me.
Well, he's about to hit 1 mill in one day so what do I know. Hopefully the book is goo

@motts337 I am asking you again to stop double posting.
I'm not

The laughable part is that doing shows or movies has been a goal since the beginning two years ago. I seem to recall Tim Pool bringing Isom up to Angel Studios when somebody from them was on and Eric basically Tweeted out that his DM's are open or something. And EVS and EJ were talking about doing movies on (I think) Yellow Flash's show a while back.

Good point. Maybe for Tubi where the Soskas have a deal?
Vito, Nigga even "if" the comics are a pipeline for a television or movie franchise, isn't that the fucking point of making a ip? I really hate this talking point ip perpetuate thanks to Zack of "UHm. ThE SjWs pEoPlE just uSiNg coMic'S fOr NetFliX" like no shit. You want to have as many revenues possible
This is exactly where that attitude comes from, Richard C Meyer's videos. It comes off as an attempt to create virtue in mediocrity and lack of ambition.

This has been an EVS paypig deflection for such a long time. Whenever you criticize EVS's books, some CGer will go "You can sell it for double the price! EVS is doubling your invested money!".

These are the same people going "muh art". :D

Well tbf, the comics Zack was talking about then was stuff like Faith the obese superheroine. Stuff like that was literally shat out as Hollywood DEI superhero franchise bait. I don't think he meant don't EVER do it.
