good. The gig economy and independent contracting in general has always been a way for employers to get out of their entire half of the employer-employee relationship beyond wages, and nipping that shit in the bud before it becomes the new normal is a net good.
For every hypercompetent "consultant" doing 1099 work you have legions of blue collar workers basically treated like serfs. Heaven forbid somebody has to pay for healthcare/benefits for their janitors.

Those benefits are the reason that you can't afford to hire anyone for a decent wage anymore and just feed the health insurance scam. If insurance covers everything, obviously you have to pay more than it would cost to keep insurance companies in the black. This is further compounded by doctors scamming the shit out of insurance companies to get max pay.
Real life example. Through my employer it costs like $5 a month for vision insurance (supposedly the company is picking up the tab somewhere). Not much at all, and it covers glasses and a vision exam yearly. But unless you're JUST getting glasses and an optometry exam it ends up being more in co-pays than it would cost as a cash service from the optometrist. For basic service, you're paying $60 for about $100 of services, but the second you do anything besides the most basic stuff, you end up like me where the co-pay would be $190 (plus the $60 insurance fee) for $235 of services and goods.

When my mom couldn't get insurance to pay for an MRI and ended up out of pocket less than the insurance was charging in co-pay ($400 total for a neck MRI), I realized how absurdly inflated costs have gotten DUE TO INSURANCE. I've cut back to a simple high deductible plan in case something stupid happens, but I have to wonder how much a $40k surgery I got a decade ago would have cost out of pocket. With the shit I'm seeing it might not have even met the deductible.

TL;DR insurance is more of a scam than you thought and is becoming a way for companies who offer benefits to extract money from their employees, not a way to benefit them.

Edit: Also why is this a place in the world that anyone would think the WTC attack wasn't an inside job? Remember. If you think your government wouldn't do THAT, they would.

The whole "Jet Fuel can't melt steel beams" thing is a red herring to distract people, much like the whole "vaccines are 5g chips" was for the Covid vaccine to distract from the massive money making scheme. You don't need the steel to even start glowing red, as soon as it reaches something like 600 degrees it starts weakening up and loosing strength enough to fuck up the structural stability.

The 9-11 Truthers are nutso, but everyone misunderstands them on this particular point because nobody bothers to listen to them before jumping to a conclusion. Everybody makes assumptions about what they are trying to claim, and just decide that they're arguing that the fire wasn't hot enough to destroy the buildings.

When the Truthers say "Jet fuel can't melt steel beams", they are not talking about structural integrity of steel at high temperatures; they are actually referring to television broadcasts of the buildings as they burned, which show what appears to be molten metal shooting out into the sky from the South tower about a minute before it collapsed. This is a glowing, yellow-orange liquid, presumably a molten metal.

The whole "Jet fuel can't melt steel beams" meme is about these videos, it was never about the structural stability of I-beams at any temperature. It was always about these images of molten metal spraying from the towers as they burned and arguing about the origin of that molten metal.

This is also where the various theories about the government using thermite to demolish the buildings comes from, since supposedly this is molten iron from the thermite.

The correct response to "Jet fuel can't melt steel beams" isn't an autistic explanation about how steel weakens at 1500F; it's an autistic discussion about the color of molten metals, and whether these videos show molten steel, aluminum, zinc, or copper.

The official report claims this molten metal is aluminum, not steel, but that's clearly not the case since molten aluminum is silver-white and only glows if in full shadow. My guess has always been that someone had a large supply of zinc/copper solder in a supply closet, and it got caught in the fire, and this is the result. Or it's molten glass.

Boeing whistleblower John Barnett was found dead in his truck at a hotel in Charleston, South Carolina after a break in depositions in a whistleblower retaliation lawsuit.



That’s according to Barnett’s lawyer Brian Knowles.

In an email to Corporate Crime Reporter, Knowles wrote that Barnett “was supposed to do day three of his deposition here in Charleston on his AIR21 case.” (AIR21 refers to a federal law that provides whistleblower protection for employees in the aviation industry.)

“Today is a tragic day,” Knowles wrote. “John had been back and forth for quite some time getting prepared. The defense examined him for their allowed seven hours under the rules on Thursday. I cross examined him all day yesterday (Friday) and did not finish. We agreed to continue this morning at 10 a.m. (co-counsel) Rob (Turkewitz) kept calling this morning and his (Barnett’s) phone would go to voicemail. We then asked the hotel to check on him. They found him in his truck dead from an ‘alleged’ self-inflicted gunshot. We drove to the hotel and spoke with the police and the coroner.”

For almost three decades, John Barnett was a quality manager at Boeing.

For 28 of those years, he was with Boeing in Everett, Washington.

Barnett loved Boeing. He loved Boeing planes. He loved his work.

Then in 2010, Barnett was transferred to Boeing’s new plant in Charleston, South Carolina.

That’s where Boeing builds the 787 Dreamliner.

And things started going downhill.

“The new leadership didn’t understand processes,” Barnett told Corporate Crime Reporter in an interview in 2019. “They started pressuring us to not document defects, to work outside the procedures, to allow defective material to be installed without being corrected. They started bypassing procedures and not maintaining configurement control of airplanes, not maintaining control of non conforming parts – they just wanted to get the planes pushed out the door and make the cash register ring.”

Barnett had been speaking to reporters recently about Boeing production issues, including the incident involving the mid-air blow out of a door plug on an Alaska Airlines flight on January 5, causing decompression of the airplane.

“Once you understand what’s happening inside of Boeing, you’ll see why we’re seeing these kinds of issues,” Barnett told ABC News in Australia in late January.
