He looks like something I would see in a horror movie crawling on the ceiling.
Hahahah! He looks EXACTLY like that TERF comic strip. Just one frame for comparison:

Rebecca Black didn’t have deals with Bud Light, Nike, and Ulta. She never got invited to meet with the president. And she went viral on late 2000s YouTube. The comparisons with Dyldo piss me off.
Yeah, Rebecca was an organic viral sensation. Honestly, I didn't think her song was that bad for what it was - she was a kid singing about kid stuff. Dumb and annoying? Yes, but no more than most kids. And we're still talking about her more than a decade later, and she's even doing alright as a legitimate musician, so I think she's definitely having the last laugh. But importantly, she became famous for that song.

Dylan's song is an obvious cash-in. It's being released off the back of his existing fame, and it's just him singing about his existing brand. If you are not already a fan of Dylan, you will get nothing out of this song. But to get him to the point where this was a viable move, he had to be astroturfed to hell.

I'm of the opinion that creating something with an ironic fandom is almost a talent in itself. I think to get that, you have to have a level of self-belief and passion for your medium. Dylan doesn't have that, his brand is massaged and artificially inflated, and there is no creativity behind it. His cynical cash-grab song might get a certain amount of hate-views, but it's not going to be something we talk about in thirteen years' time, or even thirteen months.

I just thought the two songs sounded similar. Disposable electro-pop that sounds like it was written by AI.

I've got no hate for Rebecca Black at all. It's nice that she's kept on singing.

Indy100, AKA the Saudi Arabian-owned Bri'ish newspaper The Independent's rip-off of Buzzfeed and other low quality clickbait outlets, is already reporting on the "right wing backlash":

Dylan Mulvaney's 'Day of Girlhood' song has triggered right-wingers

Trans activist Dylan Mulvaney has triggered the right wing with the release of her new song titled “Days of Girlhood.”

Mulvaney is no stranger to attacks from Conservative quarters, after her partnership with Bud Light beer in 2023 sparked a right-wing “boycott” of the brand over its trans rights support.

The 27-year-old has ruffled their feathers again, this time after releasing a tongue-in-cheek pop song and music video about “the basics” of being a woman.

It features lyrics about shopping and partying, while one part of the video sees Mulvaney shooting a water gun at some pink beer cans – a potential subtle nod to the time Kid Rock shot a real gun at cans of Bud Light amid the Mulvaney controversy.

The track title, Days of Girlhood, references the posts Mulvaney began sharing in 2022 on TikTok to document her transition. All proceeds from the song will be donated to The Trevor Project, a charity dedicated to LGBT+ youth suicide prevention.

Conservatives were quick to denounce the song and express their offence at how the song portrays women. Media personality Angela Morabito wrote in a post on X/Twitter: “Dylan Mulvaney's song features bubble baths, one-night stands, and prescription pills. “Nothing about contributing to the world in a meaningful way, like real women do. If you're going to pretend to be a woman, at least pretend to be a good one.”

Right-wing commentator Ian Miles Cheong shared a clip of the video, adding: “When you think you’ve seen the worst thing on the internet, Dylan Mulvaney releases a music video called ‘Girlhood’.”

In one comment under the video, someone wrote: “There's more to being a woman...not a girl...than wearing a pretty dress and doing our nails.”

It comes in the same week that singer Lady Gaga called out the transphobic abuse Mulvaney has faced and wished her a happy International Women’s Day.

Someone earlier in the thread mentioned filming lenses, but the video surely is meant to be a fun, pastel, California girls vibe... so why does it look so grotty & dull?

The pool and cement decking looked diseased. Could the set dresser not have power-hosed the damn place beforehand?!

Because everything in music today has to be done cheap and fast, can't wait for good lighting weather, can't afford real musicians, no sense in making quality when it will get shoved down peoples throats anyway.

Surely they could've made a bit less dull looking in post? Shit I think if they had just turned the saturation up it would've been an improvement. I literally did this in like a minute on my phone

I was legit disappointed when a black man didn't show up to rap before the finale.
Dylan’s ego couldn’t handle that.
This whole thing feels like a desperate attempt to turn him into a something. The trouble is that aside from "being a girl," how do you define Dylan? Once you take away the trans gimmick, what is he, career-wise? He's an actor, but not an outstanding one, and he's fucked any chances of making it in musical theatre. He's a model, but again, if you remove the trans thing then he's not as good as a natal woman or a regular man. This song shows how much he isn't a singer.

All you can really say he definitively is is an influencer, but influencers have a very short shelf life and Dylan's only gimmick is being trans at a time when a lot of people are getting sick of trans people. Plus his most famous influencer gig was accidentally killing Bud Light. His management are no doubt aware that the goose doesn't have many more golden eggs in him and trying their hardest to find some other niche to keep the gravy train going. I suspect the next big thing will be trying to get him a TV hosting gig.
How much image and PR is there left for places to worry about? Surely brands have seen what happened with Bud Light and knew that the press can’t be worth it, unless they’re a bunch of true believers.

He was probably a good singer, as a man. But he’s trying to sing as a woman with a man voice. It’s like playing the piano in boxing gloves.
Lol, this makes a lot of sense. I didn't even consider he is trying to sing "like a woman" because nothing about him is womanly or even close to passing. Funny, that.

Hey it's been almost a day, let's see if anyone has remixed or stitched Dylan's little song clip.

None of these are supportive. Also, I thought Dyldo's TiktTok might have been curating comments, but nope, you just gotta scroll down and they're there too.

Thats just it they put little to no color editing in. They strung the shots straight off the sensor together in vegas thinking the vintage lenses alone would provide an aesthetic. I think the low effort is a part of why its 4:3, thats the standard cheap dslr frame ratio. The vignetting is a byproduct of these lenses being fitted with 10 dollar adapters off amazon onto cameras they were in no way shape or form intended for.

I'm not surprised. I've been looking to see if it's charting anywhere and doesn't seem like it. You basically need three sales on download sites these days to make an impact. I think Dylan was rather dumb to release this to be honest as he can't behind a manipulated algorithm on this one. I'd be surprised if he makes major playlists on Spotify and people won't seek this out to stream.
